ING "Opinion; Fallout 4 should be the last Fallout"

"In a hundred years, when I finally die, I hope I go to hell just so I can kill you over and over again, piece of shit"

Actually, the female VA, Courtenay Taylor, enjoyed doing that line.
So Courtney Taylor has the standards of a 12 year old, noted. I guess it makes sense, she voiced Jack in ME2 and half of her dialogue was cringe worthy.

Almost everything in ME2 was cringe worthy. ME2 was a over glorified hentai dating sim disguised as a space adventure RPG.

Don't forget that the way the plot was set out, it's as if they kept forgetting that reapers were supposed to be the main antagonists and besides a couple little parts of the story with some relevance towards the reaper plot, Mass Effect 2 could cease to exist and not much would change for Mass Effect and Mass Effect 3.

No instead you go around and try to solve everyone's daddy issues. Mass Effect 2 was the beginning of Biowares decline under EA.

It did feel as if the game was centered on daddy issues, then there's Jacob, the most boring fucker in the entire Mass Effect universe. I'm serious he's just sooo goddamn boring, everytime I was in a dialogue with him all I heard was "blah blah blah blah blah" or maybe because I wanted to skip any dialogue or any moment with him.

I'm not one to judge, so I can't say anything about that.

It's possible that Bethesda simply gave the context that the game was supposed to be cliché and campy, and the VAs who didn't have previous experience or knowledge with the older games just took it in a stride. In that case, I wouldn't really blame the voice actors for anything.

I liked Mass Effect 2, though, so I guess I just have different standards for dialogue.

Bethesda is completely constrained by their IP though. They obviously don't want to make the RPG games they made themselves on, but they have to make concessions to the series roots and so end up not pleasing a lot of people.

I think everyone would be better off if Bethesda worked on some original IP. That being said I don't think Fallout 4 should be the last one, Obsidian should get a chance to do one with this current engine.

This! It's not like there's not a market for Elder Scrolls with guns. If they just piled their resources into making the Far Cry competitor they actually want to make and not having to half-ass both the shooty and RPGy bits, they could make a much more focused game. If they want to remain in control of the profits, they really could just only publish Fallout and have Obsidian make it. That way they get critical acclaim for both their own IP and the Fallout RPG they publish.

Everyone sorts of wins. Sure, the best way is to just give Obsidian the Fallout IP completely, but I don't think it's going to happen.

Also, for the confused, IP means intellectual property. I think it's just a way to define the ownership of a series or franchise, I dunno.

Any discussion involving Mass Effect and IGN is probably incomplete without Jessica Chobot and her space bewbz

From Mass Effect 3? Eww she looked like she had bloated cheeks like a chipmunk, her skin looked greasy, the dress made her look even uglier, and she sounded really awful and bored. It doesn't matter if she was running around with DDs, she's still fucking ugly.

I think there are a whole lot of games about daddy issues (either issues of being a father or issues with your father) simply because of the age (and gender) of the average person making creative decisions in AAA video games. I mean, not just Fallouts 3 and 4, but there's also Bioshocks 2 and Infinite, The Last of Us, Dishonored, etc. I figure it's mostly just writers writing what resonates with their situations, and they're eventually going to work it out.

Yes but it was [SPOILERS ahead to anyone that hasn't played Mass Effect 2]

- Miranda and her evil daddy trying to make off with her sister.

-Jacob and his corrupt father playing the role of dictator.

-Tali'Zorah and her father trying to help find a Geth weakness to get their homeworld back.

-Thane trying to resolve issues with his son that he abandoned so he wouldn't put his family at risk.
Many daddy issues and this is simply all in one game.
