It all comes tumbling down, tumbling down.

You're crying that users are posting negative reviews of a game that you like, trying to say that it is impossible that its true. It is the very essence of a fanboy.

Not saying it's impossible nor am I crying. I am more along the lines of debating the validity of the complaints. I personally do not trust Metacritic for anything so it is a worthless site to me and to see it referenced to back up points that something is bad makes me laugh.

The real definition of fanboy here is ironically you; the vehement defender of Metacritic.

What if Fallout 4 would score a 9.5 or even a consistent 10 on Metacritic? Than everyone and his mother would slap us with those scores day and night with explaining to us how awesome the game is and how we at NMA just don't get it ... but ... what would you do?

LOL this guy just posted a 100/100 review to put it back up to 85 Professional critic score: http://www.brashgames.co.uk/2015/11/22/fallout-4-pc-review/

Warning: not safe for blood pressure

He states "The graphics won’t blow you away, the side quests and scale of the game will. The main quest of what I have played is great."

I'm really blown away buy those side quests alright, blown all the way back to playing Morrowind and New Vegas again.

I have a feeling that "professional critics" are doing this to more or less smite gamers who have the balls to call them and shoddy game devs out. Real professionalism right there.

The quests consist of
-"Go to the Corvega plant to kill raiders"
-"Go to the abandend house to kill ghouls and check workshop bench"
-"Slaughter all the super mutants till you reach Rex and Strong, then kill some more of them!"
-"Go to the Corvega plant again to retrieve a part because we know you love fetch quests."
-"Kill ghoul and her goons after retrieving a drug lab location"

The quests are mind-numbingly dull, if there's one thing it does right it's making me want to go back to Fallout 1 every time I attempt to play this garbage.

Still wouldn't care because I don't use Metacritic.

I'd just like to point out that most, if not all the people saying Metacritic user scores are illegitimate are the ones defending Fallout 4. How convenient that they're so vocal about it now that their game is getting torn apart.

Bethesda had a Metacritic reqiurement for Obsidian.

Steam store pages for games link directly to the Metacritic page.

It doesn't matter who links to it. Simple fact of the matter is it's a shit site. The critic reviews are all shills that most people have not heard of or would really never trust for gaming reviews. The user reviews are exploitable by being open to anyone to make a review for games whether they own the game or not, as many times as they want.

It's interesting you try to draw these conclusions yet shy away from debating the real facts here.

The only fact I need is that Metacritic user scores have never once steered me wrong and I have never thought a game was great when user reviews of metacritic were awful.

That and the fact that even the positive reviews on Steam are pointing out that the game is not an RPG or a good Fallout.

If someone hated Fallout 4 so much that they created a bunch of fake email accounts to post multiple reviews like you suggest, you should probably take that as a sign that the game was doubly bad.

Gaming journalism is anything but professional.

I'll agree Metacritic isn't a legit site. It's not something I overly pay attention to, although it certainly is a real shame what happened to Obsidian.

Yet, regardless of the metacritic score as it is, there are enough legitimate complaints about the game from fans of the old AND the new, as well as from my own experience, to safely say this isn't Bethesda's best work to date.

Agreed, while there are trolls on both sides, overall a lot of negative complaints have good criticism.

I'm of the opinion that the Critic Scores on Metacritic are illegitimate, but the user scores are not, and the discrepancy between user and critic reviews on Fallout 4, Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 3 all attest to that opinion.

It's actually well known in gaming meta critic is a joke, there's no conspiracy 4chan admits review bombing it on high profile games. What usually happens is fanboys come en masse later to even it out. As to why AAA studios use it? It's simple, most of them are very out of touch with people, which should be evident to anyone who plays these games and sees the terrible decisions they made. Further, it's the one spot they can see all the reviews they paid off, and keep track of review sites not toeing the line.

its a well known fact they will black list outfits that give games poor scores and not invite them to the infamous press events. So it's one place they can keep track of all of these things.

Fallout 4 is not doing as bad at all as NMA users are deluding themselves it is, on steam it's Very positive, with 25k positive reviews and just 6k negative reviews.

you can vet those numbers yourself. I think the thing to consider is this, bottom line. Bethesda or EA whoevers current dumbing down direction of game development isn't to your liking, but it does appeal to a wide audience. Of course you can call those people casuals or idiots but they outnumber you 100 to 1, which means things won't change.

Whole lot of adorable excuses from illogical clowns who simply want to hate on Bethesda simply for buying a "good" series. Face itclowns Fallout 4 is leagues better than NV or the turds that make up the originals.Bethesda doesnt cate about the irrelevant whining and Fallout 5 will thankfully be more inline with 4 than anything else.

The reason why you're not geting + Rad here is becuse your half-life is way to short.

Seriously, does this community even need such posters? We banned people in the past for less reasons. And I doubt that he is here for any other reason but to stir up useless debates and fights.
Then this place will become the Bethesda forums where they consider criticism a form of flamebait. You're either a fan or you're out, not the kind of place I'd like to be, even if this poster needs to show a little more respect to his fellow posters.

Is that what people honestly think of this place? I've been a lurker here for a good 10 years now before I made an account finally. I've never gotten that vibe from this community and, it appears now, there are more Fallout 3 fans here then I remember it. I think for the most part, there are just less fanboys here, which I find to be a good thing. Besides that one point, there appears to be a lot of red-herrings in your post.

Oh are we going the 'majority rule so fuck you' argument? Sure it's getting positive reviews mostly, however it's still far less then Skyrim or Fallout 3.
