Broken Steel not only extends the game to level 30...
Why? You can already max out by level 20, what possible point is there to adding an additional 10 levels? Have they upped all of the skills to having a max value of 200 and rebalanced the system? Or do they just want to make sure that even the worst character build can be maxed out with ease?

Thats exactly what I was asking my self.

I mean now that as you mention it. In Bethesdas Fallout its already without any issue possible to become jack-of-al-trades. How do they want to prevent that with a higher level cap, just making enemies stronger, with more health and more damage ? (that already did not even worked that nice with Oblivion ... not that some levelscaling is totally bad, I liked it in Diablo).

They just should not mess with a system they 1. have not invented 2. seem not to have the right touch to work with. >_<

I wanna see Chinese soldiers in stealth suits running around screaming "Make me feel it! Make me feel alive again!" And the only way to defeat them should be through melee combat. That would make the game so Fallouty.

I hope Hideo Kojima sues their asses and prevents any further damage to the future of our dear franchise and sweet childhood memories.

It's a shame that they've made it possible to become brilliant at everything, even at level 20. Raising the level cap seems kind of pointless. Unless they're tweaking the levelling/stat system, which I'd be pleasantly surprised to hear.

Or they want people to be able not only to max out all skills, but to get all perks.

You can max out your skills as level 13.

Maybe they rise the bar from 100% to 200% or 300%. But still... I hate the dumped down system and that you can get 100% in every skill.

I agree, my character was god-like at like level 15 so raising it seems kinda strange. They do mention something about having new perks, which should be mildly interesting. Honestly, the only thing coming out of these new DLC's is the gauss rifle which should of been in the damn game to begin with!

The only reason they are raising the level cap is because so many people on their forums complained about it. Of course most of those complaining about it are Oblvion fans so the fact that it will make their characters into an even more master-of-all-trades character doesn't bother them. A lot of humans just seem to have this basic need to hear a beep and get a level up screen while playing an RPG.

As for operation anchorage, I've said it before and I'll say it again. Why don't Bethesda just ditch the RPG part of their games entirely and do straight up free roaming action games. They prefer to sacrifice RPG elements for action elements, and all of their staff seem to prefer action games anyway. Out of their entire staff only two of them played the Witcher (Pete and Emil). That explains a lot about the design of their games recently.

Then they would have to compete with actual competent FPS developers like Valve and Raven.

Western RPG is 'their field' together with Bioware.

F3's combat was only fun in small doses because it's very very plain. I just don't see any value in this expansion because without the RPG elements, F3 is a very average shooter. Hell, if Fallout 3 was just a shooter, it would be the shittiest FPS out last year. How is this expansion a good idea?

You know, what is really ironic? Gizmo mentioned that in a PM rescently, that Emil and a few others did certain reviews and articlese about Fallout in the bast (before working or even thinking about Bethesda) were they exactly nailed in their writtings what made Fallout, and understood the basics behind it.

And regardless of knowing that they still did with the game what they did.

Has Emil sold his soul to Bethesda or something? Have they kidpaned his family? Or does he owe them his life? ...

It's hard to remain true to your roots when there's CEO's cold breath going down your neck. In business you have to give a** sometimes.

That's interesting.

Where I can read those articles?

What do you mean no sense to rise it? Didn't you ever feel you needed to be MORE godlike?

I'm pretty sure any TRUE FO3 fan would appreciate a perk that allows you to kill enemies by just looking at them!

I dont know it ... I shall ask Gizmo. Maybe he has a link to it or even has it still. Who knows.

lol. Yes! The v.a.t.s. system reminds me so much of Max Paynes bullet time, that there are times when using it I get the sudden urge to dive with my two uzi's exposed blowing thugs away Oh yah..you can't double wield two uzi's at once... ugh. -sigh-

I liked that in Max Payne. IN MAX PAYNE. Very bad that bestheda couldnt make something as good as max payne. They're more interesented in a Duke Nukem thingy.

Well, I was thinking right now, I was pretty surprised, because for me, bestheda already had achieved the max ranking in my "Duke Nukem: Capitol Wasteland" scale. Ya know, all this time machine setting and all, it is kind of FRIGGING C00L (!!11): for a duke nukem game.

It seems that they never fail in amuse us.

I could be wrong but I thought that there were more than 30 levels worth of perks... That said, you're probably right about the goal being to allow players to get more perks and others are right that it's to satisfy the TES fans who don't understand the system in the slightest but don't like the idea of a level cap (or at least not such a "low" one).

What they should really do is revert the system back to how it was (don't have to add back in the skills, just make the skills go to 200% and progressively cost more the higher they get) and possibly fix perks (should be done but given their personalities and what they said about perks, I don't see any way that the would even consider not giving the player such a "cool" reward every level). The system in Fallout 3 is total garbage, I really don't see how much thought could have gone into it.

I read some rumors that the first addon could be released "free". Nuts or real?
