Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm

Sidebar comment: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is a good standalone Terminator series.

Perhaps the first time I've agreed with @CerberusGate :)
Hey, I've also agreed with you on Halo 5 and the Thief reboot being absolute garbage. So it's at least more than once. :wiggle:

It's nice to see a slightly more pragmatic view on it.
I do get the whole danger of the butterfly effect (though I think it was better presented when Max tries saving Chloe's real father only to paralyze Chloe in that timeline). The problem is that they don't build up as much towards that ending and banked on the player caring about Chloe that there would a dilemma with sacrificing her to save the town.

Plus that whole labyrinth sequence before the ending. Absolute time waste that could have been spent actually fleshing out the ending and properly establishing how Chloe's survival is a huge paradox that caused a destabilisation of the time-space continuum.

Too bad it ran out of steam in the end and it was cancelled while on the cusp of a cliffhanger.

I liked the game despite finding Chloe completely insufferable... then the ending soured it for me.

I also had fun Acquitance zoning Warren.

The devs really banked on the player liking Chloe for that ending. I found her extremely insufferable by Episode 3 with 1 & 2 building said insufferable aspect up.

So there was no dilemma for me in that ending.

Same. I went witht the lesbian option because at least they did have good chemistry but I picked save the town without a second thought.
I liked quadriplegic Chloe tho. Altho I did grant her death wish. I would do the same in real life if a friend was in a terminal condition and they asked me to.

Yeah, I quite liked her and that part of the story. The butterfly effect properly in place, a proper moral dilemma (I too granted her death wish; no one should have to continue suffering like that, especially if there's no hope of recovery), and a character with better attitude.
Maybe that part is what the devs hoped would solidify the player's liking of main timeline Chloe.

EDIT:
I think that's like agreeing on that the Earth is flat and that it's not the center of the universe :-P
I'm just pointing out to CT that agreements can happen even if we generally disagree with each other on certain points. Even if the agreements are for common sense.

I burnt out on it, but plan to go back and beat it. They really banked on you liking Chloe.

I really liked Chloe but I also liked Kate, Chloe's mother, and (yes) Warren. So, yeah, murdering everyone in town to save Chloe felt only appropriate if you were ridiculously invested in the romance.

Which many players were but I had my Max date Warren so....

Yeah.

Still, I didn't really think letting my character's BFF die really worked as a ending either.

2 strong women of appealing age ranges in tight tank tops... where do I sign?

That was a very underrated series and Lena Hedey was its star with Summer Glau. So, yes, it failing was a crying shame.

I think that's like agreeing on that the Earth is flat and that it's not the center of the universe :-P

I'm hoping you mean the Earth is round unless you really liked Halo 5.

Edit:

A random aside, I do like the fact LIFE IS STRANGE kind of puts to lie the whole ideas video games have to be violent male-lead fanservice fests. It's a frigging game about a time traveling teenage girl's high school drama.

Meanwhile, literally all Nintendo games and a good share of indies...

I ... I am not sure if I can respect people that like Terminator TV series ...

Because you are a fanboy of the series. You can't differentiate the show from the movie universe which is shit since 3 anyway.

I didn't say it wasn't a stupid argument to begin with but the same company had people who wanted Max changed to a boy and hated Remember Me's female protagonist.

Why should I?

I 've seen a couple of expisodes but I really got bored very quickly by the rather silly dialogues, the convoluted premise, and the atttrocious effects. Yeah, I am Terminator fanboy. The first and second movie are the only one that deserve the name anyway. Screw the series honestly. The movie franchise deserves better.

I don't think anyone but grandmas who watch Fox News think that videogames have ever been only male lead and violent. Or people who only pay attention to the blockbusters and ignore everything else.

And you would be wrong.

Mind you, this is a problem only because the EXECUTIVES are the people thinking this. Again, pointing to directly the problems the studio which created LIFE IS STRANGE and REMEMBER ME had with their attempts to do games which weren't.

Deadly Premonition is another example with the forced action scenes added on that ruined the game.

Executives are dumbshit people with money whose involvement only affects mediocre Blockbuster games who don't actually know how to make money because it was mostly inherited.

We have lots of different genres of videogames with very varied protagonists.

This is why I want another videogame crash. The mainstream side of the industry has gotten really inbred and stale due to the involvement of big money.
