Megamod 2.3 technical issues and suggestions

@Harry Canyon: I'll take apart the Lynette and Moore scripts to see what is going on there.

@ yghern: Are you sure you have the right amount of explosives?

@ aFalloutDude: No, something else has got to be going on here. I just replayed this quest. No problems. And what do you mean the savegame is corrupted? Doesn't save anymore? Doesn't load? Funny images?
 
is it possible to give the 'spectacles' a perception increase, like the 'mirrored shades' give a charisma increase, while in an item slot?

or should i say, is it possible for you to do this?

Ugh. Another one. No, it's not corrupt files. Just another example of me not knowing what the intent of the authors was in the mod. I didn't know to change the information required on those maps, so, they are incorrectly called. Thanks for letting me know.

I have just corrected this for a future release.

I'll think about it. If I do, however, I'll probably make giving them to Renesco much more profitable. I think, now, all you get is some good karma, right? If I add a perception bonus to the glasses, then I'll add some item(s), skill, or information only Renesco will give you if you give him the glasses instead of keeping them.

i'm quite sure you do only get a karma bonus. i never check.

you can get two pairs of the specs and 3 pairs of the mirrored shades. or at least i can.

i already gave a pair to renesco, so now i have a spare pair. then the idea came to mind that these could use some kinda of tweak. at first, i thought it should be an intelligence increase but then i thought... glasses don't make you smart, they just help you avoid walking into things :)

Where did you get the second pair of glasses (spectacles)? Could you pm me that info?

Also, true that they don't make you smarter. Perception makes sense (without going into the whole farsighted/nearsighted thing). Like I said, I will make a reasonable tradeoff. Maybe offer them to someone who has something else you want like I mentioned above. Or, maybe I'll script it to increase perception but lower charisma or reputation. After all, it's the Wasteland... wearing glasses might make you seem weak and an easy target. Or perhaps some of those crazy scientist types would be more likely to accept you? Yeah, I'll give this some thought.

I am always adding things or changing things around. A change like this, if I decided to add it, wouldn't take any significant time whatsoever. My next job, however... that may keep me from updating things for a while.

About spectacles, its kinda strange that it would give PER bonus to ANY character. Glasses are made personally, just for specyfic person and very corelated with that person's eyes. Finding one pair of glasses in the wasteland, and, think about it, a pair made for a radscorpion, would probably gave nothing or even PER loss.

@down: isnt in the original game Lynette->Westin delivery hasnt created any disks in inventory?
 
k... it took quite a while, but i was finally able to complete lynette's quest to get the disk to weston and then weston's disk to her.

the moore thing is still going on. he still asks if i delivered it and i get dialogue with lynette about him but not the part where he can get busted.

This was reported a long time ago... in another version. It was only happening because a text file was missing. You are using the latest version, right?

Also, is anyone out there having troble using the Pipboy? I don't know how, but somehow I seem to have broken mine. More specifically, if I use my Pipboy at all, the game freezes. If you haven't used your Pipboy in a while, please test this for me.
 
i use my pip continuously, unless i'm traveling in the wastes somewhere.

i've never had a freeze yet. but i did notice that the "settlement" automap for klamath doesn't show up. i mean.. there is a listing for it on the pip but when you click on it, no map shows up. but i am just guessing that there wasn't any "automap" made for this.
 
Hi, not sure if this bug has been posted, but I came across this last night:

In Redding in the Malamute Saloon theres a dialogue you can get with Lou the Barlady about Fannie the hooker, you give Lout the cure for Jet so she can slip it to Fannie, when you hand Lou the Cure, there is a CTD memory cannot be read error.

Certainly not the biggest of bugs, but its still a bug so there it is :)

EDIT// Btw this was during the quest for the Sherrif to find out who 'cut up the whore'

My Pip boy seems to be working fine.

I've downloaded "MIB_88_MegaMod_version_2.32.zip" from NMA and the fallout main screen reads "Fallout 2: MIB88 Megamod version 2.3." in exact this way. I guess it should read 2.32 or 2.3.2 though ^^"

Also I've used the US-Version of Fallout. Strange that this bug still occures :-/

Hi there !

I'm interested in the Friendly Klint integration in the Megamod 2.32, i got a couple of question there.

In the Pro_crit.MSG there are 12 references to "Klint" but it seems that 4 are really useful => The 50100,50200,50300,50400 ones "Klint stage 1,2,3 and 4" respectively.

Why is there so much references to it ? Did the other ones really refer each to a critter (PRO) file which is currently needed for Klint script ? The 00000501,502,503,504.PRO are the only one needed ?

I've take a look inside those last files (PRO) and i've found some little issues or mistakes in Klint's Stats.
I mean, Stage 1 got almost 10 on all of his base stats, 100% in small weapons, 180% in Melee Weapon, 150% in First aid and in Doctor Skills.
Stage 2 (the only one that seem to be correct) got normal Stats (8 - 4 - 5 - 4 - 4 - 6 - 4 in SPECIAL), 29% in small guns, 64% in big guns, 19% Throwing and a few in some others.
Stage 3 got 5 at every Stats of special and 0% in every skill
Stage 4 got 10 in each Stats, 105% in Small guns, 130% in Big Guns and 140% in Energy Weapons.

Sorry for details here but they talks by themselves. If this is the .PRO files used for Klint in Megamod, it seems that his stats are a bit incoherent.

You probably should correct his stats using the Stage 2 ones and use some extrapolation for the other stages.

Last question : What is the "Ackkklint.int" script ? Is it worthy ?

I am especially interested in those files because i'm currently working on a French translation of this mod and i've recently find out that u use a an "advanced" version of Friendly Klint Mod in your Megamod and i can't find these files anywhere else. (The "friendly klint mod" on Nma Downloads seems to be a older version)

Forget my english, i'm a poor french student, and thanks a lot for all your work this far. :clap:

General Store in Broken Hills sells 20 x .223 FMJ for about 2000$. That's about the average price I guess. The caravan leader sells 20 x .223 FMJ for about 600$, that's the original Fallout 2 price. I guess he is not supposed to sell it that cheap.
