even the bugfixing mods ?
Well I never really thought the bugs or issues to be significant for me personally (as I hardly experience them or they aren't game breaking) to install them but those are probably the exception.
I can't recall if Redesigned made a girl inside Nipton look like she was raped or mangled by dogs.
I enjoy a good balance between exploration, atmosphere and the combat difficulty. If there is a mod for STALKER I would hate, well, that would be Lost Alpha.
This is using cut content too liberally to write your own fanfiction.
Oh yes, I hate Complete. People say it's the most essential mod to have for STALKER, but it's really makes the game newbie friendly.
Spoiler: The reasons for it
- All weapons have their accuracy increased by 10-20.
- Damage done to everybody is decreased by various percentages.
- Weight limit is increased by 10kg, the maximum being 70kg. In vanilla, the Exo-suit enabled up to 80kg!
- Limits NPC's eye sight distance so they can't spot you from beyond ~100 meters. Said to remove enemies skill to spot you from "unrealistic distances," but really means you always see them first every time.
- Sound radius of the knife and other critical sounds such as death cries, falling dead bodies, night-vision goggles, grass, and footsteps are greatly reduced.
- scientific suits with 90% rad protection now feature an anti-rad injection system.
- Bandages auto-apply at 10% health.
The following features are also available in other mods, but are usually balanced out with other forms of difficulty:
- You can bribe hostile factions to leave you alone.
- A repair kit that lets you service your armor and weapons without the need for a trader can be bought from traders.
- The bar trader and Screw now sell weapons and armor repair services.
- Elite Nightvision, essentially the black & white night vision based on the psy_antenna postprocess effect, replaces the original UV-based blue NV. Perfect vision in the dark is now possible, even without a real light source.
In short, it makes the game a bit easier than vanilla, which may be fine if you are a pure-FPS type of player.
An older version of ZRP is used for Complete 2009's bug fixes. It lacks the Permanent Radiation Bug fix but you can add that. Just search for the fix if you need it.
i share your hatered of complete , but the zrp mod is just a bugfixing mod made by the community and don't change the gameplay
Yes, I know that, I didn't say that I hate ZRP.
However, most of the mods for STALKER has been to give out more challenge, which is rather lackluster in the base game. I'm not really big fan of that. What I am fan of is Call of Chernobyl, the sandox overhaul to combine all 3 game's maps, factions and such into a playable game.
What about something like OGSE? It modifies the game enough to feel different, but it doesn't drift away too much from the developer vision.
I once said on /sg/ that a less soup-y, "vanilla" version of OGSE (with better wep. ballistics) would be really fun. So many people asked me "why would you want that (something something kill yourself)?".
OGSE is just like SOUP and for me, they change little too much, which makes me dislike it (in addition of . I'll give it that it's the most stable mod for Shadow of Chernobyl I have ever played though, but not really worthy or good.
Oh yeh, I'm supposed to speak about mods I hate/dislike, here's one:
It might look fun and memetic, but trying to play this paints it as utter crap.
Did anyone play one of these mods?
Tales from Burning Sands: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/37172/?
I honestly skip quest mods for Fallout NV and prefer to stick to enchanced vanilla. I mean someguy series is just way over the top for me. Are there any lore friendly mods you can recommend for NV? (Outside New Bison Steve and Afterschool Special - I don't like them, they just don't strike my fancy.)
PS: I skip mods that add quests in general due to: bad voice acting, not sticking to the lore, making no sense, etc. They don't appeal to me whatsoever.
I always recommend this one: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/59265/?
Tales is pretty good. Voice acting isn't too bad. The first part of it doesn't even have any acting. [It's basically you communicating with a terminal.] There might be some lore conflicts, but I don't remember them being too much.. been a while, though. (also, no quest markers. pay attention to notes/clues. but this isn't a bad thing imo)
As for the Deimos.. it's good, but there might be some lore conflicts. Also there's an annoying escort part.
Saxxons quest and Delilah. Last one is companion, but her quest is awesome.
Gotta revisit thread with more hate.
-Disliked Interior Lighting Overhaul+most of the true-kvlt-night mods. Just can't see shit without pipboy light on, any location basically without pumping the brightness. (and hurting sensitive eyes)
-Willow companion. Maybe 16 years old girls would like it but 1st - there's no fanmade companion that topped Obsidian's and there's enough already. 2nd - This one with all brought up fluff doesn't work in wasteland, at all. Maybe in Fallout 4, it's so bright and colourful'n'shieeet. Not in Vegas.
-Pip-Boy replacers. Canon violation since most of them aren't wrist-mounted. And can't look straight at them after seeing the one modeled for Fronter. I rest my case.
-System Shock 2 HD models and textures - not so scary game even less scary for more fancy? No thanks.
-Thief HD textures. Performance drops for some idiotic reason.
-Better location damage for FO4 - scripted headshots made the game even more EZ, now no need to even find a better gun, a pipe rifle is a formidable weapon too. Bad.
-Fallout 4 Skyrim total convesrion.
Uh... Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment take place in the same universe, AFAIK. The Planescape setting is directly connected to the Forgotten Realms.
IIRC Chris Avellone said that one of Ravel's clones appear in Baldur's Gate.. or was that Icewind Dale? I don't fully remember.
I can only speak for myself here, but it for me got worse the more "Nexus fame" I got, which used to mean something to me, now I don't care. My smaller mods would have never put me in a place like this, but when you get around half a million downloads, the more people that think they are "helping" pop out of the wood work.
Imagine in your day to day life, you decide to make a cake, think it tastes good and share it with anyone that want to try it. Of the 10,000 people that try it, you have 10 people that say it's awesome and 10 that say it sucks.
Change the number to 500,000 people trying it and you will get 100 people telling you you should have used a different icing, 50 people saying it sucks and they can't eat it. 20 people telling you it isn't a cake at all and 20 people saying it tastes good. 50 people ask for a vanilla variant, 100 people ask for a walk through on how to eat it, 30 people say the icing is falling off and 200 ask you to port it to SSE, the list goes on.
It's the multitude that kills the spirit. Even if the words don't annoy you the shear amount of regurgitation, people never reading FAQs or even asking one question you've answered 80 times. It gets to be a bit too much and starts feeling like a job, one that doesn't pay.
That's why when a user feels the need to comment, I put equal effort into helping them. If they don't read what I wrote, I won't write back, if they show me tude, I give them tude back. If they're an asshat, I'll ban them. All the while no fucks are given. I don't try to be a jerk, but being popular isn't a good thing. If people were nicer it would be cool, but most people are selfish and entitled.
I just visited Nipton with Redesigned 3 installed. Redesigned 3 definitely changed Nipton Town's Hall corpses into some named NPCs. A little girl named Emily lies dead, but there are no signs that she was raped or mangled by dogs at all. Just badly bruised, probably dies from shock or loss of blood. Does makes me wonder why didn't they take and enslave her instead, makes an impression that she was killed because she fight back or something?
Other than that, there's only one girl that's seems like she was raped, a corpse of a woman named Lisa on the reception table with her clothes torn, and that's it.
Delilah. She is some dude's anime girl Mary Sue waifu and it clashes with Fallout a lot. Also "LOL SO RANDOM TEDDY BEAR MINES!" make me cringe.
Uau, I totally disagree. I could not stand Willow for more than 15 minutes just because she's that way.
Just because she has a sweet personality? What you wanted, a badass girl (aka Rose Cassie number 2)?
the book bid is kind of .... nhé, but the rest is great.
Don´t get me wrong. None of them can hold a candle to the vanilla companions (even Lilly which seems to me to be the least popular companion, is better written), but this is not any demerit.
