Mods you should install

Yeehaw!?!
So a few mods have been released that IMO have improved the gameplay a bit. Down bellow I will post a list of what I am currently using.

1. Full Dialogue Interface:
- Yep, you can now read exactly what your character will say. No more fucking keywords or wheels.

2. Craftable Ammo:
- So, I don't know why Beth-shit-sda didn't include this too, but again modders are to save the day. This mod will let you craft pretty much all types of ammunition.

3. Realistic Survival Damage:
-This mod will make enemies less bullet spongy at higher difficulty levels. I highly recommend you install it, even if you don't play on Survival.

4. No Player Voice:
-If you are annoyed by your characters voice and you just wished he'd shut the fuck up then this is for you.

So yeah these are the mods I'm currently using and I feel that my experience has improved a bit. What mods are you using?

1. Yes, mostly because it lets you use 1/2/3/4 to answer, so I won't have to take my hand off the mouse.
2. Eh. I like scavenging. I'll install this if it requires empty cartridges like in New Vegas, but otherwise I'm afraid it'll make things too easy.
3. OHGODYES.
4. Nope, like it the way it is.

I am a filthy console peasant, so I'll be getting all of these when/if the PS4 gets them.

Along with the mod that stops fusion core drain in Power Armor.

I've seen this complaint many times, that you have to use the arrow keys in dialogue. Do people not realize you can simply click the dialogue options?

As for craftable ammo, I like the idea and loved how it was implemented in NV. But so far in Fallout 4 I like the ballance of ammo scarcity and cost. I rarely buy it because it's so expensive, so I only stock up when I'm in absolute need. It's easy to stock up on a particular ammo type when fighting a particlar enemy type (ie Triggermen for .45, Synth's for Fusion Cells), but outside of that it's easy to run low on ammo. Some people might not like this, but I love having to use some weapons sparingly. I realize this balance may change further into the game, however.

One mod that got me interested is the one that puts your weapon down in first-person mode. Some weapons take up way too much screen space when pulled out. But I'll put off installing it until it's fully implemented, as in you have your weapon down when not in combat, but put it up when in combat.

Clicking the dialogue options is wonky at best, as they often do not register that I'm mousing over them. The mouse acceleration in dialogue/menu mode makes it horribly imprecise so that I often click the wrong option, and I've got framerate between 20 and 30, so it's just a pain to use the mouse. I do all my combat in VATS and tend to let Codsworth handle most of my opponents, and I navigate the Pip-boy entirely by keyboard.

So, better keyboard shortcuts for dialogue (for everything, really) are very welcome.

Well, that makes more sense then.

I was thinking of making a mod that does the following:
Fusion cores last twice as long (can be extended even further with perks)
Doesn't drain fusion core when standing still in power armor
Power armor doesn't work at all when core is empty
Remaps the key to eject fusion core so you can still do power attacks if you have that perk (BRILLIANT design, Bethesda)

I have been using several mods but a couple of them are cheats as I grew for example tired of constantly having to return to Sanctuary whenever I had picked up a lot of junk material for crafting and it started to weigh down the PC.

If people want such mods they can probably find these themselves, instead I will add a link to a mod I think people might like in general.

New XP gain sound - Classic Fallout levelup
- If people are tired of the cash registry sound whenever the player has gained experience or gained a new level this mod replaces the sound with the sound from the original Fallout.

It has happened to me twice that I click a dialogue option and My character instead initiates an attack and turns the other person hostile. The dialogue cross + Soft lock dialogue is a piece of shit.

Here's some I've found

Darker nights, if you actually want night time to be realistically dark http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/191/?
This mod http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1372/? retextures the pipe weapons so they don't look like they're covered in rust
This mod http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/745/? lets you equip armor with any clothing (expect clipping)
This is a pretty small change but I like this holotape texture way more then the original http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1391/?

Can't you disable mouse acceleration by messing with the files? As for registering my mouse inputs I have had no problems with that.

I'm actually hesitating to install the dialogue mod. Whether I like it or not, the voiced protagonist has been intertwined into the game, and I'm not a fan of the idea of having to read the dialogue line then hear the protagonist say it back. I imagine that would become annoying. The ideal solution would be a Deus Ex: Human Revolution system where if I wasn't sure of what the character was going to say, I just hovered over for an explanation.

Yeah that would probably be better, something like that will probably be implemented eventually, though you may have to wait for the GECK. Personally I don't mind the reading and I skip spoken lines all the time anyways

How do you get the dialogue cross to show up as a list
Just plop the mod into the data folder, make sure you have interface resources enabled on your fallout4.ini, I think it says how in the description

I used the mod manager, how do you enable interface resources?

Go to Users\[your name]\Documents\My Games\Fallout4 and find a file named fallout4.ini, open it with notepad, ctrl+f ResourceData, it should say "sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\", change it so it says "sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, INTERFACE\, SOUND\, MUSIC\, VIDEO\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\", save the file (also you may have to disable read-only mode on the .ini file). This should allow you to use pretty much any mod with the game.

I already did that but i'm still not getting a list just the full responses on the cross.
