It's said something like "Todd Howard is responsible for creating....." And they show a little clip of Fallout.
Also...I can't believe people laughed at the teddy bear part. And then they applauded when he killed her with a teddy bear? WTF?

Now that would be something to behold.
Bethesda is not always the sharpest tool in the shed, granted, but I think they're fairly aware of how much of the popular response to Oblivion is owed to the modders.

Really? Confirmed? By whom or what or how?

3.) Media
-I HATE G4. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. Kevin...what the heck was up his ass when he made that "PC gaming is dying" remark? It's like he was trying to take a jab at the PC community when it had absolutely NOTHING to do with Fallout 3, at least, very little. The guy is an idiot, as is the media, as is G4. I want to say SOO much more but I'll end with this, the media is FAR more worse than Bethesda, far more worse than Todd, far more worse than AIDs.![]()

sonicblastoise said:1. people saying "it's good to have perks every level" fail to see the ORIGINAL reason for having perks every three levels. THERE WASN'T A RIDICULOUSLY LOW LEVEL CAP. in FO2 the cap was 99, and you could still earn exp after that. so that allows for at LEAST 32-33 perks, more than FO3 will ever allow, plus 2 traits, which modified the gameplay by having downsides. now, perks are all positive, and that means everyone who plays will always start with a clean slate. if you want immersion, wouldn't it be wiser to make people choose to be different from the beginning? or are we all clone babies?
3. lack of text is a huge issue for me. Being able to READ descriptions of the landscape, especially since digital graphics are a long way from appearing realistic, is ESSENTIAL to a GURPS-based game like FO1/2. so removing those text descriptions and just relying purely on the graphics leaves MUCH to be desired.
if you want to switch weapons, open your inv and SWITCH. not just pull out your other gun which was holstered around your waist with your 17 other guns.

Yet traits are missing - which gave a unique twist to your character as they allowed you to actually alter how the game plays since they had relatively radical positive and negative effects.terebikun said:Wow, where do I start. Well, as opposed to Fallout 2 they are now bringing back Fallout 1's ridiculously low level cap, and since the game seems to be significantly longer, levels will likely be few and farther in between, which means having perks every level actually is a pretty good design decision. Also, OMG PERKS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ALL POSITIVE YOU OBVIOUSLY DONT KNOW THE DIFFERUNS, or something to that effect. As for people being able to be different from the beginning, that's what all those stats and skills and the face editor for, present in the much-maligned-hereabouts character creation segment.
terebikun said:Essential? Really? Have you noticed how a lot of previews mention the striking moment when you first see natural sunlight in Fallout 3, even though there's no text description? So long as designers know what they're doing, you can replace text descriptions of visuals with, you know, actual visuals. Gentlemen, we have the technology.Have you noticed how every preview is absolutely lyrical about Fallout 3 anyway?
Visuals representation isn't the same as textual representation and cannot do the same things, similarly textual representation has its limits as well.
There's a pretty significant difference between the caravan escort missions and a lockpicking minigame.terebikun said:In BioShock at least, they weren't necessary. I mean, if you didn't enjoy the minigame, then don't hack every single turret and camera in the game. Or don't hack any of them. Like how I didn't particularly enjoy the caravan escort missions in F1, so I didn't do them. Now, I actually kind of liked the minigames in BioShock, but I still wouldn't ask that caravan escort missions be taken out of F3, just to make them better. And it sounds like the minigames here will be pretty interesting, so I suppose they did, although I never played the minigames in Oblivion so I wouldn't know.
Simply put, the caravan escort missions were a completely seperate part of gameplay that could always be skipped without problem and without missing much of the game.
Missing lockpicking would mean missing several sidequests (in the original games) and missing a lot of interesting locations.
Except caravan escort wasn't a minigameterebikun said:In BioShock at least, they weren't necessary. Those escorting/slavehunting generic quests weren't minigames. A minigame is something different. But I cannot get why are they minigames which do exactly the same as a skill. Although in the other, newer gameplay video it was said something like there will a skill check before you can even play the lockpicking minigame, which makes sense from game mechanics perspective, so there aren't two ways to do the same. But on the other hand, it might become tedious and boring after a while, if the minigame isn't skippable.terebikun said:In BioShock at least, they weren't necessary.
