New Vegas a bit rewritten and a bit redesigned

5.a)Mirelurks they can mostly stay as a giant crabs, but their king counterparts could be redesigned to look less like humans.

20.a)Sentry bots and other robots (Mr.Handy and others) that were redesigned are replaced with their Fallout 1 and 2 counterparts.
Some of the very few things Fo4 did right in my opinion are the redesigns of Sentry Bots and Mirelurk Kings, while the original Sentry Bot looked good, I'm partial to their Fo4 design, they look much tougher and sturdy than previous designs.
Their tank tread-like wheels seem like they would handle rough terrain much better than legs and plain wheels.

However I didn't like that they lost their rockets in Fo4.

I'm not sure about that though. Sentry Bots as their name indicate are to be placed as sentries, guards that do not need to rest or get tired. They are supposed to be placed in areas without rough terrain, usually they are to patrol inside important buildings/infrastructures or outside in the immediate area of those buildings. That is why in Fallout 2 they had two legs instead of wheels of any kind.
I just don't know why Bethesda changed the model of the sentry bot so much from Fallout 2 to Fallout 3 and then to Fallout 4. Although to be honest I kinda like the Fallout 3 model too.

Lack of time and sucky engine prevent that from being made properly in Fallout New Vegas. I would have also liked if that had been made though.
I'd say it's more just lack of time
Though janky at times, horse pulled carts have been made possible in skyrim through mods, so I wouldn't rule out gamebryo being able to pull off Brahman pulled wagons that don't fly off into the distance when they hit a bump.

As things are, it seems Bethesda has a much finer grasp on what the engine can do than most other people, weather or not they have the technical skill to do it is an entirely different question.

Skyrim uses a much more polished engine that New Vegas could ever pull. It is sad but true :-(.
There is a misconception that Creation Engine is the same as Gamebryo, but it is way more advanced and polished.
Under the hood there are many things similar but many were all optimised, there is new changes and additions like using papyrus for the scripts, animation capability are in a different level, even things like navmesh, particle processing, scripting functions, etc had been optimised/added and blow the Gamebryo version out of the equation.
Creation Engine can do a lot more than what the poor Gamebryo can :puppy-dog:.

And then Bethesda just blew those up by implementing a more restricted version of dialogues and conversation, and iirc animation needs third-party application to work? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Not wrong at all. That is why I am so disappointed with Bethesda. I already had a strong feeling Fallout 4 was going to be shit (at least for me) because I already can't finish Skyrim (I get bored of it really fast). But then they pulled the rug from under the modders while spewing stuff like "we care and respect modders", "our games are always easily modded", etc.
I am kinda included in the modder category and while Fallout New Vegas made me start learning and actually make a few mods and even become part of the TTW team, Fallout 4 just made me want to not bother with it at all.
Call me old fashioned or whatever, but why mod for a game when the devs of that game do not care and do a lot to restrict what you can actually do?

Well, anyway. Since the retcons are explained let's jump into some mistakes Obsidian made on writing.

No offense but Caesar should not forgive you, if you: destroyed legion in Nelson, cottonwood cove, slave camp then found out mole in mc carran, gotten rid of van grafs and omertas plan.

What do you think?

Maybe. but if you promise victory then Caesar is happy. He will win no matter the costs.

I suppose, I just would not trust a guy who has done everything against me.

Instead I think that caesar should forgive 3 of those things not more.

Maybe try to destroy the bunker using one of his most trusted legionaries after he is done with you. I don't know, what do you think?

I agree with the 3 things and no more. If you keep on shitting on him he will get angry.

Exactly, but then again mighty Caesar works in mysterious ways...

Dead money , people.

Don't get me wrong, it is a great DLC but fuck those speakers.

Instead of them I would add frenzy security holograms and a ghost attack.

The first one is self explanatory, the second one would work like this: each time you do something loud like shooting, triggering a mine or something there is a chance a group of ghost people will spawn nearby.

It increases each time but resets once the event happens.

Yeah the speakers were... annoying to say the least.

If we're talking Dead Money now, I'd like "letting go" to actually have some weight on the gameplay, you don't really let go of anything when you finish Dead Money.

When it comes time to leave the sierra madre, something happens where you're forced to leave behind almost is not everything you've collected, I feel like I'm walking away scot-free when I finish Dead Money.

Are you kidding? I had to let go of a lot of good shit JUST to pick up those damned gold bars. I call that 'letting go'!

That is a very good point. At the end of the day we go out with a bunch of supplies, a few goldbars, tons of ammo, some amazing weapons etc.

Too much stuff is given away for free. Then again it is hard to actually do something logical. The reward could be holorifle and a voucher with a limited chips and the life of the player.

The rest could be taken away by the security, again.

We could also make it so the goldbars turn out to be fake or worthless.

Alternatively, we could have sort of speech check/ SPECIAL check. Basically as soon as you leave the villa depending on your stats it will leave only a part of stuff you got. It will take away things in certain order and you need to fight it.

So let's say there are 10 checks and less you pass less you get until 0%. For example: stealth (50 +75+ 100) + science(50 + 75 + 100) + Agillity ( 6 + 8) + Luck (6 + 8).

There, what do you think?

Arbitrary checks?
That would be anticlimactic and kind of boring... maybe allow the player either to get good gear or run away with... okay yeah it is tough.
