NFL 2011

no, I think it supports your view if all these afc teams beat the best of the nfc.

just imagine if the afc won every single game against the nfc -- then you'd clearly be proven right without even the slightest hint of a doubt.
how could it be otherwise?

I can understand how you'd approach it this way considering who won our nma fantasy league, but winning generally >>> losing.
except in nma fantasy, maybe.

Yeah, you completely lost me now.

I pointed out I think the AFC has three bad divisions and one really strong one, and since you apparently care about a dick measuring contest, that one strong division has a winning record against the NFC, while the three bad ones have a noteworthy losing record.

Oh hey, see, I brought it down to your Denver Broncos-fan level of simplifying football analysis down to winning-losing. Hopefully you can comprehend it now.

But please, continue to show your intellect by citing individual games as if that is remotely relevant to my point. Please, I invite you, for all our amusement.

I care nothing about the NFL, but that exchange was hilarious. Carry on and thank you. :)

This just in: New England is going to assrape Denver. The Saints will beat the 49'ers like Alabama beat LSU.

Roll Tide!

so, pats have worst defense in the league and pittsburgh has the best?

ok..............

Who cares about that shitty matchup? It was a joke.

I'll be curious to see if this is the Pats getting hot at the right time, or just a matter of matchup strength.

New Orleans@San Fran was a really good game, though. Big lead, big catchup, big catchup, really exciting 4th quarter. Now that was a playoff game.

suck for luck is 15 minutes ago on the net --- whiffin' for griffin is where it's at.

also, I would like someone to answer this question for me, as I'm an ignorant pats fan --------
every goddamn time they mention the pats, and that's quite a bit, they are ripping our "32nd ranked defense" (yards allowed) which couldn't possibly go deep in the playoffs.

now, these same motherfuckers seem to consider green bay unbeatable, and a superbowl lock, while have the fucking 31st ranked defense (yards allowed)!!

how does that work??

ps

TEBOW TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it bad form to quote myself?

Ps

What is 'getting hot'?
because if it means winning games the pats have been getting hot for the last decade.

Man, the NFL must be STEAMING PISSED. The Saints and Packers, with all their marketability, go out, as do the Broncos. Instead, we have two boring defense-based teams, and Eli Manning and Tom Brady.

I'd be very interested in a Ravens-49ers Superbowl, that's what I'm rooting for. Old-fashioned Defense vs Defense. We haven't had that for a while. Giants-Patriots by comparison would be more standard, though I guess the whole rematch thing is a nice angle. I would again expect the Patriots to win, but then again. I pretty much thought it a done deal last time. That's why the NFL is so much fun.

Giants-Packers was interesting. The Packers could have won that game had they not consistently shot themselves in the foot. Rodgers missed some open throws he never missed earlier in the season, he and his receivers didn't seem to be on the same page and they kept dropping balls. And then there's those three lost fumbles.

Yeah, that game was bad. Eli getting all day in the pocket didn't help. I'd mostly blame the WRs/RBs. What was it...8 drops? I think Finley had 3 alone, which doesn't bode well for his next contract this off-season.

Still, the Giants really don't appeal as a team. They didn't last time, either.

Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz and massive pass rush? I like it.

And at least they have defense. Unlike the Pats. Who played Sterling Moore at cornerback on something like half the snaps this past game. Sterling Moore was cut from the Raiders' practice squad earlier this year. And then there's the whole playing-receivers-as-safeties bullshit they do. Seriously. That defense is fucking terrible.

I guess the Giants are a more complete team. As complete as the Ravens, when the Ravens are hitting the deep ball, which they do too little this season, so in that sense Ravens-Giants could be a good Superbowl. The 49ers (defense) and Patriots (offense) are really one-sided by comparison.

I do enjoy a good pass rush, so I dunno what it is. My inherent dislike of this whole group of NYG-NYJ-Washington-Philly, I suppose.

I'd say matchups - last 9 QBs they faced - Palko, Tebowx2, Nacho, Rexy, Orlavsky, MMoore, VY - dregs, and many of them shredded the Pats. That said, they possibly face a play-off lineup of Tebow, Flacco and A. Smith - a lot rosier outlook with Rodgers and Brees out.
Heating up? Not like in '03/'04. Chung back is huge. Haynesworth gone even better - undefeated since his fat ass was cut, and I think the Bucs haven't won a game since they signed him - albatross?
Pats defensive is permissive, and prone to huge PI fouls, but also capable of shutdowns/TOs and not too bad on PA. We'll see what they can do, I don't think that Denver game is indicative of anything though.

Pats have the opportunity to repay a lot of old debts - Denver, Ravens (w/Bernard Pollard), G-men??, SB in Indy. Could be sweet revenge if they pull it off.

Much more firepower than last Ravens game, and even the biggest Pats homer know that the Refs hate the Ravens.

Not as pissed as State Farm.

And then there's those three lost fumbles.
and the 4th one Kenny Phillips got jobbed out of.

I like the NYG/SF matchup, classic. Good memories of NFCC games past, esp. 1990.

Looks like god like tom better than tim...
You're a rabid anti-Tebite.

counter point: Joe Flacco.

How the hell was that not ruled a fumble on replay?

Plus, 2002/2003 Wildcard game where the Giants got robbed. Good thing the Bucs thoroughly crushed Garcia's 49ers the next round.

I can't figure Flacco out. He has games where he's awesome, and then games where he looks like Sanchez with a bigger arm. If he's on, Pats are toast. If he's not, they still might be toast with Ray Rice there.

That was the T.O. catch IIRC?
I liked those 80s-90s matchups better, pre-salary cap Giants, '9ers Cowboys, Reskins and Packers were juggernauts that made for some epic NFCC games. HOFers all over the place. Super Bowls sucked because AFC was so weak usually.

Only solace Pats fans is how bad Flacco was last playoff game vs. Pats, and hopefully that Ray Rice opening TD doesn't happen with a safety who knows how to:
1. take angles
2. not tackle his own teammates out of a play
3. is not named Brandon Meriweather.
Yeah, their secondary is a joke, Ihedigbo doesn't belong on an NFL defense either. Flacco doesn't even need to be on fire, he can just draw PI penalties like the Pats/Giants game this year.

Which, I don't want to take anything away from Eli, but he benefits a lot from having some real big play receivers that make moves on balls that he's throwing with his eyes closed.
