NFL 2011

Yeah, that game was bad. Eli getting all day in the pocket didn't help. I'd mostly blame the WRs/RBs. What was it...8 drops? I think Finley had 3 alone, which doesn't bode well for his next contract this off-season.

Still, the Giants really don't appeal as a team. They didn't last time, either.

finley will very possibly be franchised, so it might not matter.

Yeah, but I mean, they have a choice to make with the franchise tag, if they think tag-and-bagging Flynn is worth it over just relying on a comp pick.

Tagging Finley would make sense given the relative cheapness of the TE tag (what is it, like 6mil?), but I think they'll still have to think about it long and hard. He was awfully dropsy this year. I mean, maybe if they can get him to swallow a cheap, incentive-heavy contract instead...

which is why finley is fighting to have himself classified as a wr, much like the suggs thing.

Which, I don't want to take anything away from Eli, but he benefits a lot from having some real big play receivers that make moves on balls that he's throwing with his eyes closed.
Yeah, Eli has no conscience. That's a skill too, tough. Tons of QBs would never dare to make those throws, and that hurts them.

Somebody forgot to tell the Giants they aren't supposed to play this well in big games.

End of the first half was a dagger. That Bradshaw draw. McCarthy called a timeout, presumably to get the right personnel on the field - the Giants showed they were gonna run a draw - the textbook surprise play on an obvious passing down against a strong passrush. Then they run the same freakin play after the timeout anyway w/o the element of surprise and setup a Hail Mary, that I swear, was somewhat of a helmet catch. Unbelievable. Gillbride is an aggressive, ballsy playcaller.

And I guess BB isn't the only coach with no faith in his D - early onside kick and that 4th down call later on.

The hunt is wide open now.

Gregg Williams has agreed to be the defensive coordinator in St. Louis, league sources told NFL Network's Jason La Canfora.

He's joining Brian Schottenheimer.

Jeff Fisher is putting together the perfect coaching staff of suck.

I didn't even get a chance to watch the GB game, but it wasn't that surprising, really. The bottom line is you can't have a bad game in the playoffs or you lose. When it came down to it I was more concerned with the Giants than the Saints or the Niners because the Giants can play in the cold.

My guess is GB franchise Finley and let Flynn walk, but I could be wrong. Finley won't get a long-term contract with the Packers though. He hasn't earned it on or off the field. He could either mature and become a good player somewhere else, or become a huge problem for whichever team signs him. He reminds me of Javon Walker.

The biggest question is whether or not Nick Collins's neck injury is a career-ender. That's the first thing that needs to be determined. If it is, Woodson could move to safety, which would be very interesting.

BTW, if I were a Tampa fan I'd be awfully depressed by that list of HC candidates. I can't believe anyone is seriously considering Mike Sherman. Every season he was with the Packers the team slowly got worse and worse. I'd rather have Mooch or Brian Billick than any of the guys the Bucs are looking at.

I feel bad for Houston. If not for the injuries that team could have been a contender.

I hate Eli Manning. So I'm for whoever plays those bitches to win over the Giants. Stupid Packers!

Fuck, since the Saints lost to the 49'ers (wtf!) I will now support eom's life companion, Tom Brady and the Patriots.

I'm having a hard time caring now that the Packers are out. I'm more interested in the draft already. Finish the Super Bowl so we can find out the damn order already!

Championship games were much better than I'd expected. Cool shit.

Ravens-Patriots was awesome all the way through, especially when Pats had the ball. Love good offense vs good defense. Flacco was on for most of the game too, but not enough. Too bad Cundiff had to Cundiff it up.

Giants-49ers was pretty bizarre. Weird, weird game. How many attempts did Manning end up with? 45? It's fun watching great players like Willis, Davis, Cruz, Nicks and Pierre-Paul fly around though. Pretty cool game if a pretty weird. Too bad Williams had to Williams it up.

Giants-Pats? Opposite of what I wanted. Guess I'll root for the Pats.

Fuck the giants and everything they stand for. However since I hate the Pats even more, this is going to be a lesser evil choice for me.

Seeing how every team, good or not, always falls apart against the Giants, I'm going to give them my vote for this year's victors. Plus Pierre-Paul is a boss.

suck for luck is 15 minutes ago on the net --- whiffin' for griffin is where it's at.

also, I would like someone to answer this question for me, as I'm an ignorant pats fan --------
every goddamn time they mention the pats, and that's quite a bit, they are ripping our "32nd ranked defense" (yards allowed) which couldn't possibly go deep in the playoffs.

now, these same motherfuckers seem to consider green bay unbeatable, and a superbowl lock, while have the fucking 31st ranked defense (yards allowed)!!

how does that work??

ps

TEBOW TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it bad form to quote myself?

Ps

What is 'getting hot'?
because if it means winning games the pats have been getting hot for the last decade.

I'm still hammered from 7 hours ago, it's actually raining at 11p in chicago in january, and the pats are in, like, their 5th superbowl i 10 years.

I love all u nfl fans, and if you're not a pats fan u just don't know what you're missing!!!!!!!!!!!

ALL HAIL BALTIMORE!!!!

Pats are so freakin lucky. I'm gonna need quaaludes or something to watch the SB. Eli could very well throw for 400+ 3TDs.

Ravens are fuggin tough, got to give them props. I love seeing Ngata and Wilfork in the same game, two of my favorites.

The Glantz-Culver line favored the Patriots by 3 1/2, with a total of 55 1/2 points.
That's gonna drop like a stone over the next 2 weeks.

Wilfork was a beast yesterday, but he's basically the only good player on that defense. Really can't see them beating these Giants.

Yeah, not a lot of teams win playoff games in a 35-yard miss. Still, Lee Evans was a hilarious mis-purchase by the Ravens.

It was certainly a good game. Ravens contained the Pats offense quite well. It'll be interesting to see how your offense does against the Giants pass rush, especially if Gronk is out.

I watched the San Fran game and found it pretty unsatisfying with all the mistakes and bad calls.

My interest now = zero. :)

I'll be paying more attention to the Senior Bowl.

Yeah, their pass rush is sexy, but I wouldn't sleep on the Pat's O-line. Waters was an awesome pickup, Mankins just a fucking bully, Vollmer, Solder, Light, a real underrated squad. Benny can pound the rock too.

especially if Gronk is out.
Cortisone shots + tape. Nobody misses the 'ship. I'd be more worried about him getting VD between now and then.

I wouldn't say that. Strong up front - held Gary Coleman to a season low yesterday.

I can see I need to pay more attention to the pigskin. They let midgets play now?
