The Vikings stadium deal is providing rich political comedy in Minnesota:

So far it remains dead, but they're still trying to figure out a way to pack in enough bribes and avoid responsibility for voting for it.

Just thought I'd point this out since it's still not getting much coverage in the outside world.
It keeps getting past committees. Would be a shame if the Vikings were forced to leave, really.

Pauline says Ravens targets are Shea McClellin and Konz as the fallback. He's got his finger on the pulse of draft in general and you guys in particular better than anyone, I think.

Yea everything points to Konz really but still would be sweet to get Hightower but he'll probably go to the steelers.

I said Konz as the fallback, not as the main option. Shea McClellin is an intriguing OLB prospect. Would be an on-the-line player for your 3-4/4-3 hybrid though, much like Suggs of late, but Suggs is in his prime, so a little odd in that sense.

I don't see them grabbing him though as they have kruger, kindle, and Mcphee as well as some other guys that can get that pressure in place of Johnson.

Personally I don't think the public treasury should be paying one penny for new stadiums for the NFL (especially when the public treasury is empty, like it is in Minnesota), but since every other city is willing to do it there's no choice. Still, they've seen this dilemma coming for years and years and made very little progress on it.

Packers released Nick Collins. Crap and crap. Maybe Woodson will move to safety now.

Yea all the money the NFL makes off of people already you think they would see stadiums as an investment.

That sucks don't know too much about the packers as im not a fan but maybe the plan to replace in the draft depends on what you have behind Woodson at cb if it's worth while to.

The Asante Samuel trade to the Falcons is close to complete, sources close to the situation said.

The Eagles would get a late round pick, likely a sixth rounder, in this week's draft in exchange for the 31-year-old cornerback
22 still gonna get paid!

and to think people were rippin' the pats over the hobbs trade.

They do. But if they have the choice between building one themselves or getting $700M in public funding, guess which one they'll choose?

'Funding themselves' in modern parlance means financing it through 4-digit PSL fees passed on to season ticket holders. Which is the lesser of two evils IMO.
Publicly funded stadiums are poor investments, especially dumb if the local gov't is running a deficit. When was the last time an NFL franchise was in the red anyway?

The Minnesota Vikings have traded the No. 3 overall pick to the Cleveland Browns for the No. 4 overall pick and three additional selections in the 2012 NFL Draft, according to Fox Sports insider and NFL Network contributor Jay Glazer.

The Browns gave up their fourth-, fifth- and seventh-round picks this year, a source with knowledge of the situation told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora.

t minus 40 min 'til tomorrow's hall of famers join the league......!!!
or jamarcus russell.

are you ready to commence preparations for rummmmmmmblinnnnnnnggggg?????????!!!!!!

Crazy seeing Tannehill go so high. I loved how ESPN was so critical of him at #8 as they reviewed his plays and even showed essentially a blooper reel.

I guess we'll see if they had a plan as time goes on.

I don't know jack about college players, but I'll take that first day haul for the pats.
it'll be interesting to see what they do with only 2 picks left (both 2nd round).
