huh. never knew there were Cards fans.
Yeah. There are no Cards fans outside of AZ. We're getting a ton of people jumping on the bandwagon though. Most of my friends are big Cards fans and to be honest we don't mind. The more the merrier.

Can't knock the Cards playoff run here, but nobody has benefitted more from the realignment than they have. Used to be the perennial ass end of the NFC east, now representing the conference as a 9 win div. champ.
Such is the way of parity.

Fuck. I wanted all Birds in the Bowl. Fuck the Steelers.

My neighbor likes the Steelers.

And he's a douchebag.

So I hope the Cards beat hell out of them.

Holy Butkus, that McGahee hit... MY teeth are still vibrating from that.
He got his fucking eggs scrambled good, hope the dude is alright.

If I had the choice between a motorcycle crash doing about 35MPH and that hit, I think I'd take the motorcycle crash.

Neil Lomax ain't dead.
But Lawrence Taylor almost killed him.
A few dozen times.
Tough motherfucker. Most other QBs back them curled up in the fetal position when they saw LT coming.

Oh crap, I hope the Steelers 12th man doesn't show up again! :P

I know the Cards are the feel good pick, but the way they laid down for the Pats when they came here was disgraceful. Champions don't play like that. That was fucking embarrassing. Against the Pats D no less, which is like the NFL senior tour. You can't play on the east coast in some weather, against a non-playoff team and can't be bothered because you already won your (most pathetic division). Bad form dude.

Steelers play such low scoring-boring ball though, it'll be a snoozer if they win. Watching Steelers offense is like watching elderly people fuck.

Elder people fucking while occasionally sucker-punching one another and breaking each others' jaws, sure.

Oh my God, man. Kurt Warner, what the fuck, seriously.

Fitzgerald had some ridiculous runs out there tonight. I just feel bad for the Cardinals who don't suck shit. Such as, namely, not Kurt Warner.

I don't think you can lay that on Warner, he had 350+ 3TDs and 1INT or something. I mean, I'll send Lamar Woodley after you and see if you can hold onto the ball.

Great Superbowl.

I'm blaming it on the Arizona defense not blocking that final pass with 3 against 1. What the fuck.

Man, that was a fantastic Superbowl. Fitz should've won MVP, for sure.

That final pass was eh, maybe they should've stopped it but the pass before that, the big completion to Holmes, was way bigger.

The two before-last drives that ended in touchdowns were obviously big, but I'd say a big momentum shifts that kept the Cards down and then back up were the pick 6 and the penalty-laden drive that ended with the goal-line stand and FG.

I know people are going to whine about the playcalling here and everywhere, but honestly, the playcalling was bad but didn't change the game. The momentum shifted after the goal-line stand (SIX friggin' red zone stops? That's awesome) and the Fitzgerald TD. The fact that the Steelers came back from that was all on them, and that defined the game, not the playcalling.

Yes, the Steelers were broken there, especially when Dockett came through and sacked Roethlisberger. Huge play, and Fitzgerald's run was absolutely brilliant.

So disappointing to see the Steelers come back from that, but a good job nonetheless and the refereeing does nothing to diminish that.

Another big momentum shift was the 100 yard run and touchdown for the after a huge drive from the Cardinals, and the Cardinals were lucky that the half ended there.

Pick 6 = TD return, Sander. Sorry for the jargon there.

The 4th quarter was amazing. Ari TD, Steelers 3-and-out, Ari punt, Ari Safety, Ari TD. If they'd won it on that note it would've been legend, and it shows the strength of the Steelers team that they came back from that, considering it was a pretty big D failing. Deserved win for sure, and a surprise offensive win.

Would've been happier to see the Cards run away with it, but no franchise deserves to be the winningest team in history as much as the Steelers do.

fuckin' cack bn. the calling was still a goddamn abortion, game defining or not.

No, not "game defining or not". It wasn't game defining, especially compared to the Steelers-Seahawks SB. It was cack, for sure, but I already know the media are going to annoy the hell out of me by relentlessly talking about that and by doing so ignoring the fact that:
a) it was a great Superbowl
b) the Steelers earned their win

Ugh, I should really get into American Football.
Remind me to actually really join the next Fantasy Football game.

Yep, up till the 4th quarter it wasn't that exciting (except for the final minutes of the first half and the ridiculous defensive hold for Arizona), but the 4th quarter was ridiculous and got some great, great plays that were defined by the teams themselves and not the refs.

This surprised me again this year, but even though I have no feeling for the teams (and hence made a last-minute sidebet with a friend on the outcome, which I lost dammit), no other sport I've seen comes close to the suspense of the Super Bowl.

Great half-time show, too, by the way.
