wassup w/the quinn-boner?

anyway, yesterday was just a replay of last week's game. and it doesn't look...so far....as if it'll be on that channel.

Oh I have a man crush on Quinn after seeing him man handle things last pre season. He was with the team for two weeks, did not know any of the plays, had not really practiced and was tossed in with less than a quarter to play. In that time frame he turned a nearly 30 point deficit into a close game... That guy pwns.

yo. i have to say....Rodgers looked goddamn good tonight. seriously. even without Grant, the Pack looked pretty tight.

Yip, Rodgers is a-ok for the most part. But boy does Brohm look horrible. Time to shove Wynn up the depth chart I say.

Wow, someone who digs Quinn. Most people don't take him seriously since the draft-day fall, y'know, and he's just a clipboardholder now.

Y'know

Not his finest moment.

What the heck? Did the guy kill baby seals? Why did he deserve that?

I also should note that this time last year, his jersey was among the top 10 NFL jerseys sold. On an unrelated note, Seattle at spots 7 and 10. First time in nearly 20 years they have been in the top 10...I'm such a fanboi

Uh...he got drafted I guess?

Dunno, man, a lot of NFL fans tend to be unsupportive of their team picks. Not those that basically know their organisation is going to get their picks right (Patriots), but Jets? Always booing. The Browns did have to trade up to take a second first-round pick and take Quinn, and the fans might not have thought worth it, even though it looked like there were no start-worthy QBs on the Cleveland roster at that point (DA was yet to break out)

Talking about shitty picks, no one has had as bad a time of picking in the 1st round as Seattle over the past decade, except maybe the Lions. No booing there?

yeah, i mean...wow. to the extent that he may have already dug his NFL career-grave. the guy just looks absolutely terrible. Flynn (Wynn is a backup RB) has been pretty sharp, agreed.

To my knowledge, no. Keep in mind folks in the Pacific NW cling onto things as they for the most part feel ignored. Sort of the underdog of all underdogs. They usually are supportive until the bitter end.

The reaction when Philly picked McNabb was ugly and classless even by Philly standards.

edit:
Gotta love the City of Brotherly love.

I can't remember who they passed on to take McNabb, but I don't think you can fault what he's done there when he's healthy.
Phillys people are so charming.

Even with the litany of assts. and coordinators that leave NE every year for more money after they get some fame. The only one (other than Mr. Personality) that would bother me would be GM Scott Pioli. Look beyond the draft too, they got Randy Moss for a 4th round pick  , and Wes Welker for a 2nd and 7th.

And props to the Giants rookie class last year. That was all Ernie Acorsi. Bradshaw, Boss, David T... T.... T.... sorry, trauma has blocked out that fucker who caught the ball on his head.

In a league with the salary cap and parity, good draftingis everything. That being said, there's still lots of luck involved.

but Jets? Always booing.
Ah, belligerent douchebags from Long Island and New Jersey.
They're already out in their #4 Jerseys in force.
I wonder how long until they boo Brett

Holy shit, just found this gem. Fucking Hilarious.

Decade? You can go back farther than that -
You look up bust in the dictionary and they have Boz' pic
bosworth_all.jpg

Heh, yeah, Bosworth. Seahawks done fucked up in how much they paid him, but he wasn't actually as bad as people commonly remember. The whole "biggest bust" thing mostly came from people having overly high expectancies and the dude being a weird douchebag.

Yeah, but to be fair, the Jets did make some incredibly bad picks. They passed over Dan Marino to pick up Ken O'Brien. Picking Kyle Brady when everyone was crying for Warren Sapp? Though to be fair, that was the year Ki-Jana Carter was the first overall. Ooops, Bengals.

Still, bad history, lousy crowd, leads to that kind of nonsense. Pretty classless at times.

Philly is a tough town to play in, man, Donovan never had it easy.

Uggles, just watched the Jets Vs Giants game from Saturday... *yawn* But that little number by Chatman and Clemens toward the end of the 3rd quarter was pretty amazing.

Come on, the Boz was a moron but at least he could play... He was a moron though... a ... big one that had never heard of the concept of modesty along with various golden rules that surround the word.

At any rate, that was back in the 80's when the Seahawks were what, 12 years old or so? They were known as the football clowns of the NFL because they would do crazy things like field goal fake on 2nd down... Somehow, that worked on occasion.

the Hawks definitely had one of the greatest (slow-assed) white-boy receivers ever to play in the league though...my hero, growing up...

Personally I liked Boz in Stone Cold, and I'd be remiss to mention that I had a Boz-esque mullet going on in HS (I played MLB too, no less!). Looked pretty fucking cool in my Camaro.
Plus his career at Oklahoma was pretty amazing, and largely the reason that colleges can't get away with jack shit anymore - they lived it up so much they fucked up the system for everybody else. Now if somebody buys a kid a Big Mac the team gets suspended.

Hey, Maphusio, as a Seahawks homer do you think Forsett has a shot to start? He went undrafted in my fantasy league last night, so I could pick him up, but from what I've seen of Seattle it looks like Morris is the starter.

By the way, the Packers are the proud owners of the second-worst draft gaff in NFL history: Tony Mandarich over Barry Sanders. That's right, they could have had Favre, Sterling Sharpe, and Barry Sanders all at the same time.

I'm not worried about Brohm yet, as long as Rodgers doesn't get hurt. Brohm looks like a rookie quarterback - overwhelmed. No one will know whether he's a flop or a superstar for a year or two. I like the way Flynn has played, but he's also been running with the third stringers, so he should be doing okay.

I'm impressed with Matt Ryan, who doesn't look like a rookie quarterback.

P.S. - The image of Bosworth getting run over by Bo Jackson is a timeless classic.

GOD YES STEVE! Any Seahawk fan has to love him but I love him... for this.

When do you see that? When do you see one guy beat down another player knocking him out for a season, gloating about it only to get his own ass pummeled by that very same guy the next time around and in turn, injured for the season? Pwnage

While looking for the above clip (amzed I found it) I found another deal on Steve.

If Steve plays like he did consistently I'm sure he will share the reigns with Mo Mo (Morris). 361 yards in a game... your first time out, that earned him allot of respect. Interestingly, the main player (name evades me) that was picked to fills Alexander's shoes, is not playing as one hoped.

I think if Forsett does well against the Chargers, no questions asked, it will be him and Mo Mo. He gets the major plays, Mo Mo has a tendency to ram through things, and well.

(I actually picked him up in the NMA fantasy league juuuust in case.)

True that, I was watching the Jets game yesterday and did a double take when I saw "Farve" on a #4 jersey... A big double take. Then when I heard what went down at Greenbay... I rolled my eyes.

Dude, "Super Bo" pwnd Bosworth, I never understood how Bosworth thought he was better... I sure as heck didn't see Bosworth in a cape flying across my TV set!

Edit: It's JUSTIN Forsett, not Steve... that will teach me to drink to many Canadian brews

Pro tip: avoid the Seahawks RB situation like the plague. It's like the Denver Broncos year in year out, they'll be fine in real life but there's no dice on getting real fantasy relevance out of any of them.

Julius Jones/Maurice Morris are 50-50 co-starters, which means they're both useless for fantasy purposes (50-50 producing one or two fantasy starters is rare, pretty much only Minnesota and Jacksonville manage it), then T.J. Duckett is the third string to take away touches, possibly on short-yardage situation. T.J. was the best RB of the lot in the preseason game against San Diego just now, Forsett sucked.

Forsett has a good chance of joining the roster as the #1 KR/PR to take the weight of Nate Burleson while Nate moved up to WR1. His impressive training camp/pre-season means the Hawks can't really drop him, but they also dumped a lot of money into both Julius Jones and T.J. Duckett, which means they'll be hard-pressed to shove those two down.

brilliant. just fucking brilliant. thank you, maph. i've not ever seen that.

as a Packer fan growing up in the 80's i can humbly say my walls were plastered with cut-out photos of Steve Largent and Walter Payton. i had S.L. & W.P. jerseys. i had books of football cards dedicated to those two guys (and Jerry Rice at a close third). one of my uncles...and asshole high school fb coach...gave me mad props for recognizing Largent's greatness at such a young age (being that the Hawks were not a big deal at all in the 80's and i didn't live in seattle).

ahhhh. the fucking memories.

Very niiiice. I'm glad you enjoyed it. That clip was one of the many shown when they blew up the Seahawks old stadium. That is pretty impressive that someone outside of the Pacific NW recognized Steve back then.

To bad on this weeks game... Oh, to lose by one point. I'm not convinced that was a touchdown or pass interference but... what else is new eh?

Disappointing that Forsett didn't get to shine like he did last week but I think BN put it well enough. HOLLY CHARLIE FRY?! I was not only impressed but astonished by his performance. Provided he is not to badly hurt, I look forward to seeing him next week.
