Dunno, man, a lot of NFL fans tend to be unsupportive of their team picks.
The reaction when Philly picked McNabb was ugly and classless even by Philly standards.

edit:
Gotta love the City of Brotherly love.

I can't remember who they passed on to take McNabb, but I don't think you can fault what he's done there when he's healthy.
Phillys people are so charming.

They wanted Ricky Williams, the guy my team traded their entire draft away for. 3 years later Williams would be traded to the Dolphins and McNabb would be leading his team to the 2nd of 4 straight NFC Championship games. Fuck Philly fans right in their battery-throwing, injury-cheering, Santa-heckling asses.

First of all, they don't let you throw batteries away anymore, so what the fuck are you supposed to do with them? Far worse shit went on inside the Vet between Philly fans, you expect them to tone it down for visitors?
Secondly they booed Michael Irvin breaking his neck, ending his career on their turf, that's just sublime dude.
The Santa thing was malicious though.

And While McNabb has played his heart out, he's brought them no jewelry, and probably never will.

Oh BTW
Welcome back Pac-man!

Was "Shameless Attention Whore" already taken?

Thanks god this pre-season wankery is over.
Can the real NFL players come out and play now?

After watching that last Seattle game on NFL network, I'm going to stay away from Forsett. He might be a good pick in the future, but not at the moment.

I have a sleeper for the fantasy players here though: Kregg Lumpkin. That's right - Kregg Lumpkin. He beat out Wynn, Morency, and Herron for the third RB spot in Green Bay, and he looked great all preseason. He played his college ball at Georgia, but I guess he was injured most of the time, which is why he went undrafted.

Obviously he has minimal value unless something happens to Grant, but he's worth keeping an eye on. If something bad happened to Grant and Jackson, Lumpkin would be The Guy.

The only guy I'm sad about losing is Herron. He's a good dude. And not just because he unscrewed one of his bedposts and used it to beat the crap out of a guy who broke into his house this spring. He's a smart player, good receiver, good special-teamer, and I thought he looked good in preseason this year too.

hmmph. giants looked pretty tight, aside from Eli's obligatory "hey, there's an interception for ya, folks!" play. 'Skins looked...well...fuck. i just feel bad for Portis. it's like he's just sitting there thinking "can somebody else on this team please just fucking pretend to be good??????"

What about the three gimmies Eli threw that bounced right off the hands of the secondary? Inconsistent Eli will come back, you can't unteach that, nor does confidence make you more accurate.

-Brandon Jacobs is so much fun too watch when he gets into the secondary, he's a wrecking ball.

-Plus how fucking sad is the NFC when teams like the Redskins could qualify for the playoffs? Come on.

The Giants did not look good. They looked good for a part of the first quarter: quickly and accurately moving the ball, good plays called, nice run-in by Eli. But they collapsed after that, and it was only the Skins' shellshock and the Giants continuously running it towards Jason Taylor that got them anywhere.

What a shit game. Boy the 'Skins offense is a mess.

I live just outside NYC. Everyone here last season was clamoring for Coughlin and Eli to get replaced. Remember Coughlin didn't have a contract for next year going into the playoffs. Eli has always been inaccurate, going back to Ole Miss. Accuracy is one of those things that never changes either.

NYC is a tough sports town and very "what have you done for me lately" when it comes to championships. Plus the season ticket holders are getting raped in NYC Giants, Jets, Yankees, Mets, all moving into new stadiums with these ridiculous personal seat licenses that are ranging from $5K to $25K just to reserve one seat! I can remember many a Sunday morning driving to Foxboro or the New Jersey Meadowlands with nothing but beer, burgers, and a hibachi and scalping tickets for under $40. Now everything is sold out and way too pricey.

we were drunkenly and barely watching the second half. i don't think i saw any of the 4th quarter at all.

i did see a few dropped "shoulda-beens" from the 'Skins CB's. feckin' Eli. if nothing else, he'll be worth the comedy/tragedy once again.

They came out like gangbusters in the 1st qtr, but Redskins looked really lost, new coach, new offense, and hey WTF what happened to Todd Collins who led them into the playoffs last year?

Am I the only one who doesn't see the upside to Jason Campbell?

And Eli, well he's not Rex Grossman bad. But I think between him and Favre you're going to see how fast NY fans can turn on someone. By midseason, if these teams aren't above .500 it's not going to matter what's on their resume, fans will be all over them.

If you want to replace him with a 30-something journeyman, then yes, I don't think a lot of people would see that as a sensible move.

Campbell has been through, what, 4 offensive systems in 3 years? I'd love to see what the kid can do but those kind of circumstances aren't exactly ideal.

Campbell looked promising last year, I thought. The situation is starting to resemble Alex Smith's in San Francisco, though. Presumably the Skins will improve as the year progresses. If not, it may be Colt Brennan time.

The Brandon Jacobs hit on Landry was great, but I liked Portis's hit on Kiwanuka even better.

Wheeeeeeee!
