Nuka World: No Review Possible

I have a shirt, couple of bobbleheads and a mask.
It was all for free however.
And i got a plasticky, with paint mishaps and glue plasters Bobblehead with the game.
Besides, my friend accidentaly twisted its neck and now it needs a fracture collar to look forward.
Good metaphore.

For New Vegas merchandise, at least in Spain, it's litteraly nowhere to find.
I could get a normal California flag shirt and crayon a second head or something though.

Someone suggested that we should VAT the entire Fallout 4 forum same as was done with Fallout POS. I think they had a point. This game is just so worthless.
I disagree. I joined NMA because I hate Fallout 4 and what Bethesda did to it (or didn't do to it) I've used and perused this site for many years, but that was my breaking point. Based on my like to post ratio and the content I post, I think it is fair to say that if for nothing else, NMA acts as a nice operating table to dissect it.

I've been told in other posts to not bother writing about it by people who frequent those forums and write about it. Which raises the question, "Why are you posting on something you would like to be Vatted" You seem to have a number of posts in Fallout 4, It's a forum and it is nice to be able to share your opinion on something and it is also nice to do that in a place where there is a community that generally feels the same way.

I discuss Fallout 4 here because I feel it is the only place I can. Reddit, Nexus and Bethesda.net are filled with Bethesda fanboys and Fallout(4) Fanboys. People that have never played 1, 2 or New Vegas, and I don't talk to people that I don't respect.

I don't talk to people that I don't respect.
DEAL WITH IT
:play any MLG montage:

But i agree, vatting it wouldn't really do nothing, our sworn enemies don't even know what that means.
It'd be a bit of a childish move, maybe it could be done a year or two ahead, to let it slumber under 3 km of metaphorical concrete.

Legion is funny because, as Millim pointed out, the members are still essentially raiders and tribals at heart.

They really are a bunch of lolz rapists and killers just for the hell of it. Only difference is Caesar has refashioned this aggregate of thugs into instruments pointed away from his territories and towards his enemies.

So now when they rape, pillage, and plunder, it's for the benefit of Caesar's "greater good"--acquiring slaves to breed future generations, seizing resources to supplement whatever infrastructure they got back east, or--in the case of Nipton--waging psychological warfare against their foes.
I guess that is what happens when a man enforces a regime inspired by ancient empires of the past. To be fair, Sallow's approach to handling hostile raiders and tribals was a good approach as he did force a form of discipline and values into them. It may not work as well in the West Coast but in the region he was in, Sallow's approach was effective.

I wonder if Bethesda will try to make a completely heroic (since black and white are the only spectrum in their idea of morality) Greek faction in FO5 complete with "This is Sparta!" references if their audience continuously taunts them about the nuanced Legion.

You seem to have a number of posts in Fallout 4

I've enjoyed mocking Fallout 4, but now I'm growing bored of it. It's EVERYTHING I predicted it would be, right down to being a rip-off of Fallout 3's storyline. We can keep dissecting every dumb thing in it until the day the human race actually does blow itself up, but honestly, what else is there to say about it now? Sooner or later we'll just start treading water. VATting it would save us all time and energy.

I think what made me realise how repetitive this all is was one of the recent podcasts, where I swear maybe 20% of it was spent speaking about Fallout 4, then the rest of it was spent talking about anything else. There just isn't much to say about Fallout 4. Much like Fallout POS, there's nothing positive to say about it.

Many people post here because if they say "Fallout 4 isn't that great" at other places they get banned, threatened, deleted etc by kids.

This^
So much this^

Sugarbombed has a "lore" section, and you bring up jet, ferals, X-01, "blast radius board game" or anything equally stupid, you'll get lynched by Beth fanboys. One of them said that no one cares about lore and that all that matters is gameplay, another didn't even know what lore meant.

Reading your post about Fallout 4 is like playing Nuka World. Should NMA just VATS what you have to say? Why even have forums at all? You seem to talk a lot about something you think shouldn't be talked about. You sir are a hypocrite. Can you stop derailing my thread please.

I don't get why people are getting so upset about this. I was just saying there really isn't much to say that hasn't already been said.

If people want to keep complaining about a game that we all know sucks, fine by me. I'm just saying that NMA set a precedent by vatting POS and vatting Fallout 4 would be no different.

Also, @DirtyOldShoe it's impossible to derail a thread that had no rails to begin with.

But whether we like it or not, Fallout 4 is canon and will most likely be important to the future of the franchise, and although it's shallow, there's a lot of "stuff" in the game to discuss. Plus, some people enjoy picking apart plot holes and making fun of talentless idiots like Pete Hines. BOS was just a spin off, Fallout 4 is an entry in the Fallout franchise, albeit a bad one. :/

I don't see why Fallout 4 should be considered canon. Fallout 4 is as much a spinoff as POS. If they were well-written spinoffs then sure, they can be part of the Fallout universe. But if they're badly written then imo they can be happily ignored.

I guess I'm just being an old man here. I've been there done that, style of thing. I forget that a lot of people are new here and have come to vent about Fallout 4 specifically. While for me it was way back with Fallout 3. Nitpicking and laughing at idiots like Todd Howard just doesn't hold the same appeal after several years of doing it. You can never shake off the fact that they are still the winners in all this.

Maybe Nuka World (and Fallout 4) will be the breaking point for a lot of people. I hope so. But as No Man's Sky proved, there's no end to the gaming community's naivety and gullibility.

Anyway, peace out. People can continue to talk about Fallout 4. All I'm saying is I might drop out for a bit. Sorry if I rustled anyone's jimmies. That wasn't my intention.

I never used this forum when F3 came out, mainly because I couldn't play more than 1 hour of it. I thought it was pure garbage, but I'm grateful that it led me to the original Fallouts (which I hadn't heard of before). I only got F4 a week after release because a friend recommended it (fuck him). And because I didn't know New Vegas was made by a different studio and that it stayed faithful(ish) to the originals I only played it at the start of this year.

Sorry if I rustled anyone's jimmies. That wasn't my intention.

I think you're right with wanting to forget F4, but Bethesda owns the rights, and it is canon. But at least they're sticking to the east coast. That's something right?

Lol just wait until we get New Vegas 2 but instead of Obsidian it will be Bethesda making the game.

Mr House will be telling you "another settlement needs our help."

Are you confusing this place with reddit? I'd hope this place doesn't delete/vat negative comments about games.

Many people post here because if they say "Fallout 4 isn't that great" at other places they get banned, threatened, deleted etc by kids.

I was drawn here because no one understood my point of view, even though I was initially uneasy about joining given NMA's "infamy".

Please don't tempt fate.

"Mr House liked that."

One of the things that got me to sign up to NMA was Tagaziel's spiel about the differences between FO3 and New Vegas, and his argument that New Vegas is the true sequel, and 3 was a spinoff. I've always thought of it that way since then. Bethesda's ownership of the Fallout IP means nothing if they don't do anything meaningful with it.

Come to think of it, I recall Tagaziel or someone else bitching at me for whining about Fallout 3 years after it came out, so hey ho, circle of life and all that.

No way will they use anything created by a superior studio.

It will be - FALLOUT: New New York.

It will be the New York Democrats vs. the Battalion vs. Mr Empire State Building

There will be 3 main quests, no side quests and 432 radiant quests with funny names.

DLC:
Sierra workshop: craft poison gas traps, and building slot machines for your settlements.
Super happy Zion craft time: new trees and camping decorations for your settlements.
Old World Furniture: craft, you guessed it, beds that don't look like ass.
Lonesome Settlements: for $14.99 you will be able to craft 3 new chairs in your settlement.
Railroad's arsenal: weapons that make your permanently invisible. Cannot be reversed.

If Fallout 4 is archived like Fallout: BoS (not VATed), discussions can still be created within the archived forum. That is what I am in favor of (as the one who made the proposal for archiving or VATing Fallout 4).

But whether we like it or not, Fallout 4 is canon.
It actually can't be Canon. As it contradicts major facts previously established in previous entries and itself nearly every time an NPC opens their mouth or a terminal is read. The main story doesn't even make sense by itself much less when you take previous lore into account. So the only way fallout 4 can logically be Canon is if all other fallout games are non-Canon. What does that leave us with? The most poorly written story ever told? Who wants that? Show of hands. I reject fallout 4's Canon Simply because of the implications it brings with it.

I've always found it easy to make "canon" be whatever I want it to be. It helps when the game is like New Vegas because you can have your own "Canon" ending and there are so many subplots you can influence. When It's a Bethesda "RPG" like Fallout 4, you can't really do that.
