Certain pharmaceuticals will do that to an orc.

Not only that, but modders also managed to add portable bedrolls and fix a bunch of other stuff that BethSoft screwed up. Who knows, maybe there will even be a mod that makes the game not suck.

On a brighter note, it appears the modding tools are quite powerful - a good incentive to buy the game even if you don't particularly enjoy Bethesda's work.

what sucks is my char has gotten vampirism and there isnt an easy way to get rid of it at low level without tons of cash... plus since every time you use fast-travel you end up where you are going mid-day...

i think i am going to have to start over unless someone can put out an easy way to solve this. on second thought ill probably just uninstall and say fuck it.

they have it for morrowind but not oblivion yet. and nobody seems to have good success to adding things to the player inventory.

mkay, played it for a bit longer now, so more comments.

i restarted & made a Ranger (archer-type class i created myself). and whatcha know? fighting is now a lot more enjoyable, but looks somewhat imbalanced... the first arrow shot is pretty much always a "power attack" (triggered by holding down the button longer than usual, works for melee as well), add to it the double damage bonus from shooting out of stealth & you got an overpowered weapon. squad combat is somewhat more annoying & chaotic, since you often have people running through your aim (but the same is true for ranged casting).

the other thing i noticed is if you level a bit first before proceeding with the main questline, things become a lot more interesting. i already knew that difficulty and level scales with your own level, but what i didnt know that this also means that there is a greater diversity of mobs. my first run through the burned city at level 1 was greeted with about 3-4 types of mobs, when i did it at level 3 i met 6-7 types of mobs.

some sidequests seem interesting, but the fun is often killed by the shitty dialog & ugly faces.

most non-questrelated dungeons have no other use than just leveling your skills. most 'magical' items found are just not very useful up til now.

edit: another annoying thing is the "ragdoll". now, i like corpses falling in a 'lifelike' fashion instead of having them float in mid-air. however, when killing a mob on a slope full with vegatation i dont like to see it glide off until the bottom of the goddamn mountain. if it would tumble off, ok, i could live with it, even if the grass shouldve stopped him, but just slide off? bleh. there goes my loot!
    wacko jacko?

There's a thing called "Form ID" Open up the Construction Set, and click on the "Items," "Magic," etc... menus. There's a minimized tab next to the first one (it's always the second tab). Just roll it over, and there are the Form IDs for all the in-game stuff.

Anyways, for example, if you want an item you would bring up the console and type, "player.additem formID amount"

Besides, you do know that you can cure your vampirism via any type of cure disease spell or scroll or potion? You just can't become immune to vampirism unless you get the quest cure.

Also, Gamewinners, amongst other sites, have huge lists of cheats and/or form IDs.

Just started a new character tonight. Between work and other things I haven't been able to play much so I'm not losing much by starting over. I should have known better than to pick a class rather than create my own; same as Morrowind, the premade classes are good as character concepts, but when it comes to actual gameplay and leveling up they really screw you over unless you're going to completely bend your own style of play to the class concept. That's fun in an RPG, not so fun in a game that more or less requires you to be a jack of all trades to get the most fun out of playing it.

    Especially one here named Malkavian...

I'd almost get it just to take part in the jokes here. Of course I'd also need about $1,500 worth of parts.

    Sincerely,
    The Vault Dweller

i had to dig through the npc that gives you the cure script to find the item type, and then look through items to find the actual ID but there it is.

I don't know how anyone could say this game sucks unless they are ignorant or they like only a specific type of game.

This game is no Fallout, or Planescape Torment or any other RPGs.

The only downfall to this game is I wouldn't really call this an RPG it is too linear. It doesn't seem like anything you do will actually change the outcome of the game. (Note: I haven't finished it yet)

This game is fun and that is all that matters.

It also 10000x better then Morrowind ever was. I played Morrowind for 5 minutes before I said it blew.

If you want to have hours of enjoyment pick up this game, but don't expect a true RPG.

you looking for a decent slappin', boy? more comments like that & you'll be fed to the deathclaw...

adding that to your previous comment pretty much means that your conception of fun is the only 'right' one.

halleluja! hail to the new prophet!

how about you stop telling people how they should feel & what they should like? people are giving their views & comments about a game here. their view is their own. we dont need some baboon to come tell us what we should like.

No, it means that they look for other things in games than you apparently do.

This is a fansite to one of the best RPGs, and you wonder why people may not like something that *gasp* isn't an RPG.

No choices and consequences, yet the devs still manage to call it an RPG. Pft.

Glad to see you enjoyed. Coming in here and telling us to enjoy it isn't going to do anything, though. Especially when you claim that it isn't an RPG.
