PG-13 Terminator

Did anyone else notice that one of the Terminator sentries at the Skynet facility was wearing a bandana? Were they playing dress-up?
What the hell was going on?

And who dressed up the Terminator when Marcus first meets Kyle Reese? I mean it had boots and ragged clothes and everything. At first I thought it was an old Infiltrator unit that had lost its organic flesh but then I kinda noticed he had a minigun for an arm.

How the fuck is this explained?

I just got back from watching it. I was decently entertained, as it was pretty much what I expected. No where near as good as the first two but better then the third for sure.

Everything seemed to work out a little bit too neatly in the movie for my liking, and there seemed to be little detailed explanation on some points. But without getting overly nitpicky, it was an alright movie. Now I feel like watching T2.

Terminator "experts" say that the early T models had rubber skin.

what i keep wondering about (and i haven't seen the movie, mind you) is why the fuck the non-infiltration Terminators (the humanoid metal ones, without the fake skin) are all using weapons that can be used by humans.

i mean, that's just bad tactics. each kill gives the humans a new gun that they can use? you're a robot ffs, why not make something specific that only you can use?

i can mildly understand the will to remain humanoid in form for foot soldiers (though even that isn't logical) but well...

Actually I was thinking it would make more sense that all Skynet forces in the field would be Hunter Killer variants, from the big flying and tank ones to smaller ones that can enter human designed spaces.

Using humanoid soldiers that handle separate guns doesn't make much sense.

I thought Skynet started building the Terminators/Infiltrators when it decided to adopt the tactics of destroying human resistance cells from the inside.

Thats also what the human protector of Sarah Conor said in T1.

It seems to me that the equipment in the future wasnt even that numerious, only with the later movies you got a lot more different technicaly advanced machines with different outlook runing around like from liquid metal or those things in T4 now.

I think it would have made more sense if they tried to stick with what was seen in T1 and T2 particularly since Cameron did tried somewhat to spend some thoughts about it, he has a degree in physics afterall. Is it even possible to see the T1 typical tanks and flying units in T4 ? Or did they really changed ALL kinds of design to suit the "wow thats cool like transformers" factor ?

I have this feeling that the Terminator series is going the Star-Wars way, which mean releasing 6 movies. For the hardcore T-fans, the only true Terminator movies are the first and the second. The third can be consider a joke given that the acting and storyline are pile of crap.

T:S is okie in my book. Having the idea of a [spoiler:0b7052ea22]cyborg as he 'robot' part (all the Terminator movies have a 'good' Terminator standing side by side with the protagonist [/spoiler:0b7052ea22]
is actually quite refreshing and unique. Although it gives the movie a huge plothole - if Skynet knew Marcus's existence, why not it just do the same thing to other human captivities (having them modified) and let them infiltrate the Resistance's base... :o

because Skynet is illogical and an abortion of science, it must die.

"lulz"

but yeah its a shit load better then T3. but Terminator 2 will always be the best in the series.

I didn't pay to see T3, and I was damn glad afterwards (it was pretty bad).

Do I really want to pay $10 to see T4?

I don't know. I don't trust current-gen Hollywood to do anything right.

And I also don't trust current-gen movie-goers to know a good film if they saw one.

In a world where people can enjoy films like 300, HellBoy and Van Helsing, I'm wondering if splitting with humanity and becoming a hermit might not be the better choice.

Seriously, I feel alone. I feel like few people expect high quality fiction any more, and most are prepared to just shut down their brains for 1-2 hours.

That doesn't explain anything, the Terminator that gets crushed by the falling whatever had a minigun for an arm, Skynet isn't so retarded as to think that would somehow slip past as long as it had a coating of rubber flesh.

Modular design. When a old Infiltrator goes into patrol duty replace one of it's arms with a minigun.

Hoinh to see it again today. An awesome post-nuclear movie.

And yeah, what Kilus said. Turn your brain on, Nixon and stop eavesdropping on Democrats.

Saw it today. Please excuse my language: it was SHIT.

Seriously.

Script writing is a lost art. This film's script was stupid beyond belief.

It also wanted to take the action everywhere at once, which is common with a lot of films these days. One minute we're here with these guys, now we're over here with... no reason, but now we're back to these guys again...

Not a damn bit of it made any kind of sense. And "his heart can't take it" was super, super lame. "Oh shit guys, we need the ending to have emotional imapact (ala F3). We have no creativity at all. What do we do?" "Oh I know, one of the good guys has to sacrifice himself!" "Brilliant! No one has ever done that before!"

Fuck this film.
And F* Hollywood, and the talentless hacks that make modern films.

Sorry. I can't stand the drivel they make.

Either plots are terrible but this would be reality breaking terrible.

Marcus was also suppose to take over John Connor's place as leader of the resistance.
John apparently is fatally wounded at the end of the movie and won't make it, but now the resistance has come up with the idea of surgically grafting John's face onto Marcus so he can pass on as John.

Well, I just watched the movie today. Needless to say, it's pure Hollywood, with appropriate amount of cheese, explosions and saliva, but I was reasonably entertained. If anything, I was never a fan of the series, but Salvation was a decent PA movie, much better than anything recent of the sort.

It's not a masterpiece, but it's a good watch, and I can only laugh at anyone who expected a masterpiece out of it in the first place.

Well Skynet's plan could make more sense.

[spoiler:d927b52504]Yer it takes out the sub but it's plan for John Connor rests on one unarmed Terminator. How about one hundred Terminators, or a thousand. Each with a miningun for a arm. Or just a bomb. And what happen to it's air defences? Or hell any sort of defence at the end. Marcus only shut down one gun and Skynet was aware of what he was doing so it should of just turn it back on when John was inside.[/spoiler:d927b52504]

Wow. Guys at Hollywood really need to get some good writers. Most of their latest productions sound like some B-movies.

But nowadays just with action and visuals, people can wet their pants and call it a masterpiece.

BTW, I saw the movie and didn't like it.

This is exactly what I was thinking after the movie. The Batman accent was unnecessary. As was Bale, for that matter. And the whole movie was quite reminiscent of Fallout, which was kinda' cool.

Just recently watched the movie with a few friends and well I already was preparing my self for a "just action movie" ... but boy was I dissapointed after the movie.

While not the action or effects are dissapointing its more the way how Kyle and Connor seem to survive even the most ridiculous situation. Yes throw him against a computer with full force or punch him a few times trough the whole room without ANY broken limb! No! Dont punch him just with your arm to death cause your a TERMINATOR just throw him AGAIN away from you! Not the kind of action I was used with Termninator 1/2 since the humans usualy did not took so much of a "beating" against a Termniator and did EVERYTHING to keep distance and not even get in the range of the machine cause neither the Terminator from the first movie or the T1000 did hesitate very long and just made their jobs with humans quick.

expect some spoiler :

[spoiler:a64abf8dcc]Why the hell did the machines not just killed Kyle from the begining when they had the chance to do it! I just dont get that part. In my eyes such a huge hole that its embarassing. They want a trap for Connor. Ok. I ge that. But they keep him allive? WHY! for gods sake when this guy is Conors father I as Skynet would kill him as soon as possible for any case. [/spoiler:a64abf8dcc]
