Would you buy Fallout 5?

I almost didn't buy 4, they won't get me again.

And that is why they should let obsidian do one, though I'd still be pretty pissed they are getting my money, thus making me feel automatically screwed no matter what, so even that is a stretch.

Your optimism is both heartwarming and depressing, because I'd like for you to be right but know with near-total certainty that you probably aren't.
It ain't rock bottom until there is quicktime events, all that holds them back is their blocky-ass engine.

No no no no no...NO. True RPG or GTFO.

I would rather buy a new handgun or spend it on something worth my time, they'd have to step their game up so much it would be impossible. I'm not even sure they could possibly dumb this game down any more that they have here.

You have a handgun?

He lives in Ohio; he probably has his own armory. In a bunker, under a corn field. ;-)

Don't know what kind of handgun you'd get for $60 though, I couldn't even buy a super soaker for that.

Yeah for conceal carrying.

I was just saying I would rather spend it on anything else other than that shit, hey you never know, by the time that game releases it might cost as much as a handgun.

There should be the option to buy it when it doesn't cost too much to experience how much of a IMMERSIVE game it is first hand.

I was forced to choose the Hell yes option and this deeply saddens me.

Forgive me, NMA.

Fallout 5 will come out 10 years from now on the same Gamebryo/Creation engine, so I think I'll be sitting that one out.

I certainly wouldn't be buying it until several months later after the childish hype goes away to see if it's the same boring mess as Fallout 4.

Voted hell no unless Obsidian makes it. Even then I do think I would hold off because Godd will stick his grimy little fingers into it. I deeply regret spending money on that shit fest called Fallout 4 and won't give any more money to Godd and his underlings because of it.

As it stands, no. Unless Bethesda allows Obsidian to develop the game and restore the character building system from Fallout New Vegas (and ditch a lot of the gameplay/campaign alterations Bethesda included in Fallout 4) I am not going to purchase Fallout games from Bethesda unless they are on sale for very low prices (thus Bethesda making a loss at them)

The only way to make Bethesda give up the Fallout franchise or make Zenimax realize that we rather want Obsidian to make the Fallout games is to hurt them in their wallet.

I won't be buying Elder Scrolls VI much less Fallout 5. You know what I'm expecting from Bethesda with Elder Scrolls 6? The attitude of "Not interested in 'realism' in a game with talking cats and Harry potter magic."

These once great RPGs are now being made by people who don't like RPGs and need a dictionary for the word "immersion." In TES 6 you probably start the game as the Emperor.

I'm calling it right now, in Elder Scrolls 6 the main story will be about saving an Argonian that's been stuck in a fridge for 200 years. It'll will win 12 GOTY awards, an award for best writing and, Emil will earn a lifetime achievement award.

Not to forget, smartest game of the year, best RPG of the year, best story of the year, most original story of the year...

I like your post but you are incorrect. Bethesda only rapes Elder Scrolls lore for Elder Scrolls. All of their content now is re-written Morrowind stuff. There will probably be shitty references to Fallout 4 like "rare brain fungus ingredient" or "Cherry Cyrodiilic Brandy" Imagine Fighting
ANGRY DARK ALPHA LEGENDARY WORLD EATER ALDUIN★★☠
My brain is bleeding at the thought. And the "I found Skyrim really hard and I never beat it, I'm happy they removed magic and stealth!"

Goodbye substance my old friend,
I'll never get to see you again,
Console-itis softly creeping,
Let them stream-line while I'm sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
With the lack of substance.

In restless dreams I walked alone
Shallow tales are being told,
In Morrowind I can take a camp,
In Fallout 2 I'll bed a tramp.
When my soul was stabbed by the flash of Emil's sight
It felt like blight
And birthed the lack of substance.

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more.
Emil talking without thinking,
Emil hearing without listening,
Pagliarulo writing stories that no one ever shared
And no one cared
He brought the lack of substance.

"Fools," said I, "You do not know."
Lack of substance like a cancer grows.
Hear my words that I might teach you.
Take my arms that I might reach you."
But my words like silent raindrops fell
And echoed in the wells of substance

And the people bowed and prayed
To the retro Todd they crave.
And NMA let out its warning
In the words that it was forming.
And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the forum walls
And youtube halls
And whispered in the lack of substance.

It is not inconceivable that I can be persuaded to buy Fallout 5.

It is most likely that I can be persuaded to buy the complete edition when it's on sale several years after release, though. I'm more interested in playing Fallout 5 than any more Fallout 4 simply because there's a lot of fundamental problems just baked into the engine in Fallout 4 that could conceivably be fixed in a sequel. They're never going to fix Fallout 4's problems with narrative, dialogue, characterization, lack of options, and overall combat focus. They could fix these things in a whole new game though.

They could do that just like they could have made a game without those problems in the first place, as they claim somewhere between 4 to 7 years of development for Fallout 4. Instead, they put out a lazy piece of garbage for console casuals who don't have time or interest in playing a video game with any amount of depth and instead just want some childish action FPS with full voice acting because reading is for nerds, no matter how awful the voice acting is.

Why? Because that makes more money. In fact there's one article claiming they plan on "revisiting paid mods in the future" so yea, they're EA now. Basically, we are hoping a company comparable to EA is going to make a game for the sake of making a great game instead of lots of money from casuals who don't know what Fallout or RPG means.

And for some reason video game consumers are incredibly ignorant and keep buying this stuff up. I am sure it will take 2 or 3 more iterations of dumbing down The Elder Scrolls games before the majority of consumers finally realize the game is a boring, shallow, unimmersive mess that was pretending to be an RPG all along.
