Chances are they'll try a Fallout MMO, and it'll completely fuck up the Fallout feel because the hub town will have thousands of people running through it.
I've never played an MMO, I don't have anything against those that have (Other then the diaper crowd) I guess they all seem really gamey, in a bad way.

In my opinion the only thing I would like about those is watching all of the chaos everyone would be causing, it would be funny. Besides that it's not really my thing but of course I've never really played one.

That reminds me, I would've loved to see the Interplay Fallout MMO, I mean, it wouldn't have the same level of choice and consequence as a proper Fallout game but it looked and felt a lot more like a Fallout game from the screenshots I saw of it.

Were there ever any screenshots? I thought it was just the desk with the words "the master" carved into it, shit I better get to googling this stuff.

Just a few.
Then there were the concept art which was amazing.
Then again, Megaton's concept art also looked amazing and look at how it turned out in the main game.
Still, it would've allowed us a choice in what Fallout line to follow, Bethesda or Interplay, and considering how Fallout 4 turned out I just wonder what could've been with Fallout Online.

Screnshots and concept art at the bottom.

Man, watching the teaser for Project 13 makes me melancholy, especially with Slave to the Blues playing, the song sums up the state of the Fallout series pretty well.

Shit, shit, shit! This means that we might see Fallout 4 multiplayer.
Not likely, there's not as much money to be made in attaching multiplayer to an existing game. I expect a full price mmo like they did with ESO to be announced real soon. I also expect it to be advertised as "fans wanted to explore the Fallout universe with their friends, well now they can."

Well we have been hearing people bring up multiplayer from time to time so it is bound to happen sooner or later.
I only wonder what those sessions will turn out to be. With more serious gamers I would like to think they serious and supportive, perhaps even 'role play' their character. (if you play a NCR doctor you talk like a NCR doctor), but I am pretty sure there would also be a lot of ridiculous stuff like players roleplaying that they are a newly wed couple, a remnant of the Enclave (wearing Advanced Power Armor) out a mission to shoot all mutants while protecting settlement to bring back the USA, and all kind of other nonense.
They have the fortune that any world Bethesda will make up will not really react, they will also have the misfortune that any world Bethesda will make up will not really react to whatever little fantasy game they happen to play.

I guess eventually there will be enough complaining from Bethesda fans that they want the world to react to their choice of career, skin color, political view, sexuality, and so on as otherwise it is not immersive enough, thinning the separation between game and reality.

Edit: I found some of the concept art for Project 13 weird like that frozen sea full of trapped cargo ships. It is not as if the bombs suddenly created some flash freeze ice age.

Also not so sure about all those high rise buildings standing. Ever since Fallout 1 I expect that most high rise buildings either were smashed up and collapsed by the bombs, and that weather and time torn down most of the remaining standing ones.

Not that it matters of course as Project 13 has been cancelled but I find the intact parts of Washington DC and Boston not very Fallout, seeing as these cities were considered ground zero.

You mean this?(picture down below)

"Grinding level 80 Deathclaws in Deathclaw nest!"

"Selling Ultimate Flaming Freezing Scoped Heat Seeking Fatman! 90k caps!"

"omg giV me my caPS bAck U scAmer"

Then the hackers come in and burn the server to the ground by spawning level 900 Giant Deathclaws.
