Resident Evil: Zombies, Plagues, and Hot Main Characters

I also felt the backtracking was irritating
That's another thing I keep hearing. I loved the backtracking. Its an old school kind of game design that I've been missing in video games for quite awhile now. I think the last game i saw it in was GOD OF WAR II in like 2007. I thought it was great fun returning to an old area with new tools and seeing what new things I could find. I don't know why it would bother people at all to be honest.
Yes, Resident Evil 4 moved the action to the forefront
Thereby killing everything survival horror was. The end of an age. It seems to be making a proper comeback (finally) though mostly with a new first person perspective (which just makes for a better mix of stealth and survival horror. Two of my favorite genres)

Well, to each their own.

I am curious about Resident Evil 7's stinger which I was spoiled to. I think that's going to be very controversial with a lot of fans of the series.

This is a great article.

The first ten minutes basically is agreeing with @R.Graves about how Resident Evil 4 derailed it from horror.

It breaks my suspension of disbelief a bit, when "Redneck man with shovel" tanks more damage to the head than something like a Crimson Head or Licker in prior games... ;\

There has been quite a few regenerating enemies in previous RE games. And to kill him you don't need do hit him that much. Especially seeing how you are using the weakest pistol you can find :)

Also speaking of Ethan.

"He wasn't an old member it was his GF? Or did i miss something?"

Also speaking of RE4. This is how it may have looked but sadly they changed it.

Edit: First time using a spoiler tag and it is broken unless you type it in yourself. I don't even.

before diluting it through spin-offs of questionable character.
Dead aim and the two outbreak games, I felt, were solid additions to the franchise. I assume you're referring to Bullshit like RE Gaiden, Re Survivor, Re operation Raccoon city, or umbrella corps.
Honestly, I think it's probably the best RE game since the original.
Implying 2, 3, 4, 0, and REmake weren't all vastly superior to the original. Hell, REmake is literally the original improved 100%. Its just laid out slightly differently.

Did the OG RE include the sharks and the chimera? I know it didn't include Lisa Trevor which already makes it lesser than REmake imho.

I do indeed mean those. Umbrella Corps infuriates me most as I really DO love the idea of working for the Umbrella Corporation and would love a story heavy game about being the "bad" guys. However, it's storyless and even less to do with the franchise.

I'm referring to the remake when I refer to the original and I'm liberally applying nostalgia points I admit. Basically, it's a Special Edition which doesn't have Han Solo shooting first. But yes, I think Zero and Resident Evil Remake are both the best of the franchise and are helpfully together in the same game box now for Xbox One. I intend to give both a replay.

I will say, though I regret they never remade 2 as Claire remains my favorite RE girl by far.

Raccoon city doesn't actually look THAT bad.. At least now that we got Umbrella Corps :P Still it is a weak RE title but if my friend didn't quit gaming i would play it with him.

Also RE2 > Remake > 3/CV > 0/4 I never did beat RE0 but i only played it a bit at a friends house. But it didn't really hype me up as much as the remake.

Also for those of you who play a lot of resident evil. I hope you are members on residentevil.net

Jill is way hotter. Especially in her S.T.A.R.S uniform. They completely ruined her design in RE5 tho'. Claire is definitely better than post-REmake Jill.

BTW did you ever play Dead Aim?

You don't judge characters by apperance only..! Also the single best RE character ever is Wesker followed by Hunk!

The achievements for Resident Evil 7 are pretty damn strange as I defeated Jack in no less than three Boss fights as well as escaped from him in a hopeless encounter, only for the game to give nothing for them.

However, the game gave me achievements for:

1. Finishing the intro sequence
2. Closing a door behind me
3. Destroying my first Doll
4. Using my first lockpick.

Honestly, I think whoever came up with the achievement system list should be fired.

On the plus side, I just had an Evil Dead-inspired chainsaw fight with Jack and I'm now pretty sure he's not only merely dead but he's really most sincerely dead. It was interesting, too, because the area is inconsistent with the rest of the game and goes pretty much into full Thunderdome territory.

I've also met the Molded enemies who are basically giant fungus zombies with freakish mouths. I'm hoping we'll get some dogs and ravens cursed with mold infection but I wouldn't be too disappointed if we don't.

I didn't say Jill wasn't hot, she's definitely one of the hottest RE women and I'd probably rank her 2# after Claire with Ada coming up third. I say this despite the fact I prefer the Jill Valentine "clubbing" uniform from Nemesis. What can I say, that was a eye-catcher when I was a young college lad.

Alas, I never played Dead Aim, which is a shame since it looked really interesting and the idea of a cruise ship being full of zombies actually seemed like a really intriguing idea.

My wife is a Leon fan. :) Of course, she loves the movies primarily. :aiee:

I disliked RE7 mostly for the fact I couldn't use a revolver in that game. I mean c'mon, .44 magnum and it turns out to be a fucking pistol? Pfft. That reminds me, has anyone done a RE4 playthrough of just handguns? Must be interesting, honestly, using the Red9, the 500 magnum and the .44 revolver to fuck shit up.

Another tip in experience with RE4 is to avoid just buying the next weapon, since sometimes the older version will in fact be superior in every way (Ex: Hunting Rifle, Riot Shotgun). I think the only weapon, besides the Riot Shotgun and .44 revolver, you should buy, was the Blacktail. Fucking amazing pistol. Hunting Rifle when maxed out was just fucking awesome, That rifle alone put the hurt on Regenerators even if you missed their weak spots.

I don't get what people see in this. The original redhead S.T.A.R.S uniform Jill is best Jill imho.

I'd say stars Jill first, then Claire, then Rebecca chambers for third.

Sienna Guillory rocked it.

latest

But we do love her beret.

In an alternate universe, Mila played Jill in a movie directed by George Romero.

My ranking of Resident Evil girls goes:

1. Claire Redfield
2. Jill Valentine
3. Ada Wong

And I think I prefer the Moira Burton woman to Rebecca in appearance even if they have a lot of similarities.

It really was. Can't get much more isolated than a cruise ship in the middle of the Atlantic. Plus I think wesker was on that ship irrc. I Never finished it unfortunately. Gonna have to one day.
But we do love her beret.
Yes we do.

Funny, I've actually participated in five pages and said nothing people have accused of being insane or horribly wrong headed. :)

... A lot of what you did with RE4 was pretty dumb.
Hey gotta uphold tradition.:postviper:

Also she's not a main character in any of the games but Fong Ling was smoking hot.

Though dead aim's main character was pretty damn hot himself.

The forums are not a part of the site.. They are capcome forums. Don't ask i still don't know :P But use the site for achievement and costumes/items for RE Remake 6 Revelations 1-2 And RE7. Also the game we don't talk about.

Been a long time but i did knife/pistol and grenade only i think. Using the standard pistol for headshots even if the blacktail was better i think? ANd the one with the stock for tougher enemies.

I honestly don't seem to find Resident evil 7 scary.

Deadspace gives you guns capable of killing the enemies in a couple of shots, and I'm more terrified of the necromorphs...

Eh, I like monsters with personality. The Necromorphs were okay but I actually liked them more in Dead Space 2.

Gorey exploding ones!

:)

I find 'mindless shambling/running space zombie' scarier than 'Dude with a shovel', and 'woman with a beehive vagina'... ;\
