Russian-Ukrainian war

A lot of military aircraft. Good thing for the civilians who escaped the country, as there will be none left after the air to ground attacks.

There isn't really that many planes. I counted nine and one of those is an airlifter. And the helicopters will probably not be used for carpet bombing.

(obviously not real)

What a shame. The flag looks way better like that.

I wish mother Russia the best of luck.

What was interesting and kind of ironic that Russia should fight to support Assad because of a large contingent of the DAESH would after defeating Assad would take their jihadi war to Russia. The " we have to fight over there so we don't have to fight them here " that the Bush Administration used to justify further occupation of Iraq. I'm sure though the Russians in support of Assad would take out a lot foreign fighters that would bring what they l learned back to Dagestan and Chechnya.

Although it is questionable whether or not that will do any good for the terrorists in Russia, since I doubt the FSB just didn't notice all those jihadists departing. Now they have them out in the open, and are probably ready and waiting for the survivors to return to Russia. How lenient can they get after what happened in Volgograd?

Are most Chechens of the pork-eating, alcohol-drinking kind of muslims, or the more traditional sort?

As far as I know, most Chechen Jihadists (tbh, I don't like using that word because on the internet it's associated with terrorists while IRL in Arabic it literally means fighters/strugglers) get arrested in Russia. It's why many Chechens went to Ukraine during the civil war.

No idea on Chechen types.

Also, school happened so a bit busy, but here, have a SU-34 (notice the duck nose) over Syria

1: U.S./EU want Assad out because hes friendly with folks who want to challenge us.

2: Russia/Putin wants bases on foreign soil so he can be global power player and show off his muscles.

3: Iran wants to give the Sunni bloc a bloody nose and show off its muscles as well.

4: Turkey is using the Syria situation to pound the PKK without retaliiation.

5: We all know that the Sunnis don't like Iran.

Long story short, Syria is being gang banged by foreign powers that do not like eachother.

Actually Syria is being gang banged by the west, torn apart by ISIS and earning more hate because of it's alliance to Russia.

Putin is no better than any of the players in the Syria game. Russia isn't doing stuff out of altruism here.

Tartus anyone???

Oh yea, Shia Iran ain't giving Assad freebies either and will only encourage Al Qaeda and Isis just as much as the west will.

Ah come on Dr, as Crni points out, nobody is a good guy here. They all want something. As long as the big powers fight amongst themselves, the small countries suffer.

That's true and I know that, but Russia does have the strongest reason (even if they're going to use for their own shit).

That works both ways though. Russia is doing stuff for itself. The west does not want a Russia on par with the U.S.S.R., decades down the road. Politics is a bitch.

It is isn't it?

It's actually interesting to note that during Russia's shit years (the years after the collapse of the USSR and before Putin) there was very little anti Russian propaganda and hate. However when Putin came to power and turned Russia to something of a power the hate mail started to pour out in media.
