Secret of Prometheus

If I want to see a movie, I'll go see it...regardless of what the reviews say. In fact if I'm planning to see a movie I make a point of avoiding any reviews until afterward because I've been burned by bad ones too many times to accept anyone else's opinion. So there. :)

If it's rubbish I'll say so after I've seen it.

Sure, but if I hear mixed reviews I usually wait until Dvd, and save the extra cash for something that is a sure thing....like booze or something.

an DVD is almost if not sometimes even more expensive then watching it in the Cinema. At least here. So if I really want it cheap I would have to wait like 1 or 2 years when the DVD is cheap.

Depends on a few things I guess. I have to drive 45 minutes to get to a theater for starts. I typically rent Dvd's off of Netflix or Redbox before I buy them, so it is still cheaper. A theater trip is about 60 bucks for us when it comes down to food, gas, and all that jazz. I always go out to eat after watching a movie, so I tally that in too. :D

Yeah but if you are Crni you just walk to the theater and panhandle out front till you have enough change to buy a ticket. The bathrooms have running water if he gets thirsty, and no one ever eats their entire popcorn, so the garbage can is like a walk up diner for poor uni students.

just wait 'til it's on tv --- not fx or sci-fi, free tv.

I had a good mental image of him doing that too.

hey thats not even a that bad idea.

Anyway, you are pretty close. I use my bike (between 30 and 45 min. ). So I don't have to spend anything here. And then I only pay for the card and If possible I go to the cinema not on weekends as it costs more. So I spend most of the time around 6 or 7 euros while a "new" DVD can cost between 8 and 20 euros.

>_>

Also I like the popcorn and there is usually enough on it the ground.

What? Where do you live, the Mojave desert?

Close. Bumfuck, Oklahoma. All of the small theaters nearby died. I live in a ghost town. It's peaceful though.

Strange. I tried looking that town up, so I could visit anytime I'm in Oklahoma (planning lots of trips there, obviously); but the only thing I managed to find is Bumfagging Hill, New Hampshire.

I do think I've now found the ideal place for any potential Order meet-ups, tho'.

Heh Bumfagging Hill is 30 miles away from me, even shorter as the crow flies.

I've been burned too many times by doing that. Over the years I've determined that reviews are utterly unreliable for predicting whether or not I'll like a movie. If you're relying on reviews to decide whether or not you'll go see a movie in a theater, you're misusing them as a resource. I only read reviews of movies that I've either already seen, or movies I have no intention of seeing, ever. The point of the former is to gain perspective and insight, and the lesser point of the latter is to appreciate the criticism.

Reading reviews of a movie you plan on seeing can only lead to disappointment. Even well-written reviews you end up agreeing with usually give a brief plot summary, and that's too much of a spoiler for my taste. I prefer to go in with a slate as blank as possible.

I usually listen for what complaints were common over a large variety of people. I like to use Rotten Tomatoes for stuff like that. I also disregard idiotic critics like the ones that love the Twilight series and lame rom-coms. Most movies that I watch in theaters, I kinda already know if I will like them or not, so it is usually an enjoyable trip. I read most of the reviews before watching Avengers, but I still enjoyed it for the most part. If I really want to see a movie in theaters I will go no matter what. I do think all of that is a bit off topic though ... :look:

I personally don't watch movies that don't explain the plot in their Commercials. It's like going on a blind date, and either getting shocked by how hot she is or how much armpit hair she has.

It's a chance I won't take.

I saw it. I loved it, as an alien fanboy. It was entertaining, above all else. Certainly not perfect, nor exactly what I wanted, but I came out of the theater beaming.

Michael Fassbender, as anyone might guess, is pretty fucking fantastic.
