If I want to see a movie, I'll go see it...regardless of what the reviews say. In fact if I'm planning to see a movie I make a point of avoiding any reviews until afterward because I've been burned by bad ones too many times to accept anyone else's opinion. So there.
If it's rubbish I'll say so after I've seen it.
Sure, but if I hear mixed reviews I usually wait until Dvd, and save the extra cash for something that is a sure thing....like booze or something.
I've been burned too many times by doing that. Over the years I've determined that reviews are utterly unreliable for predicting whether or not I'll like a movie. If you're relying on reviews to decide whether or not you'll go see a movie in a theater, you're misusing them as a resource. I only read reviews of movies that I've either already seen, or movies I have no intention of seeing, ever. The point of the former is to gain perspective and insight, and the lesser point of the latter is to appreciate the criticism.
Reading reviews of a movie you plan on seeing can only lead to disappointment. Even well-written reviews you end up agreeing with usually give a brief plot summary, and that's too much of a spoiler for my taste. I prefer to go in with a slate as blank as possible.
