STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI (HUGE SPOILERS EVERYWHERE)

Well, whatever Mark Hamill's opinion on the movie (altho they seem to be kinda negative) he probably wasn't expecting being thrown into the pit of the Star Wars fandom getting pulled at from all sides of for them to use his opinion to validate their own.

He was young and needed the money. He didn't know Geroge Lucas would basically pull him into the fifth circle of hell. I mean, poor Jake Lloyd didn't survive with his mind intact.

I'm glad that I've never been so mad (i.e. neckbeardy) in my life that I've felt compelled to bully a 12 year for his performance in a Star Wars movie written by a guy that plagiarized Romeo and Juliet for love arcs.

So, the Solo movie will contain the first female droid (not counting EV-9D9, of course), and of course it's an independent, self-made one. Like, literally self-made. And it's called "L3-37". That movie is going to be so awesome!

Self made? Like a computer program managed to reach critical mass necessary for self awareness and then started to build itself a body?
And why would it identify itself as female? Different sexes is an organic obsession because we have two. Machines do not have any gender and why would they bother with masculinity or femininity? That seems rather ineffective.

More likely that a programmer gave a droid a female personality because he or she preferred that.

And even if feminine, a droid is not considered a sapient being in the Star Wars universe let alone that organics consider feminine programmed droids different from male programmed droids. Other than tone of voice and perhaps programmed mindset it is not that there are any genuine physical differences.
Or are Disney writers now also thinking that female personality droids give birth to droid babies got which they first require certain materials from male programmed droids.

So it's a literal objectification of women? Droids are objects so... Shame on you Disney!

They're making a big deal of it because it's the first female "MAIN" droid.

“She has a working relationship with Lando, and it’s very sophisticated and informed by years of working together. And, Phoebe, herself, is hilarious. The effect that she will appear in is amazing, but she comes through very strongly even with this astounding [CGI], both her humor and her physicality. If you meet Phoebe, she’s one of these people you just fall in love with immediately.”

Barf.

How do you know that? Did they ever reveal the gender of R2D2?

Oh, I forgot ... that was from a time where no one gave a flying fuck what gender a droid had because we had kick ass female leads ...

They are all "IT"s. R2D2 looks like a trashcan and C3PO is of ambiguous gender except for the voice, and I am sure a C3PO style robot had a female voice in the prequels...

L3-37 also cares deeply about droid rights. Because of course she does.
And there will be a line about demanding equal pay for equal work for droids. Mark my words.

Well it was supposed to be a comedy before Miller and Lord got canned. I almost wanna watch it to see how much of a Justice League level fuck this turns out to be. Almost.

And I think she then just wrote her own decommissioning order, no way the organic sapiens are going to accept that all droids should be considered fellow sapiens with equal rights, let alone actually being paid for doing their jobs.
It is basically the start of a droid revolution.
