The end of Fallout3...again

This is so damn depressing. Eventhough deep down inside i knew this was probably going to happen, it still makes me wanna puke. I think this goes to show that any further speculation is pointless.

but after pounding my head against the wall for while, Im actually finding this situation pretty funny. Yeah it sucks that there wont be a FO3 anytime soon, but at least we know that with the continuous release of crap games interplay is certain to go bankrupt with the next year or two, and maybe these intelligent Executives will go back to being Jannitors.

Yeah, and Fuck Interplay.
 
aw c'mon give me a brake! here i was, sitting in front of my pc, drinking my early morning tea and i get this!?! GAAAAH! how could they! laying off the whole BIS team? CANCELLING Fallout 3? i think i'm going to fake sickness really soon so i can go home and cry away my missery...

I am writing this at four am upon waking up in the middle of the night... I am a long time lurker on these boards, and Fallout for me had all my hopes in it. I just can not believe interplay. This is such shit... I feel absoultly terrible. I've been getting burned on alot of CRPGs lately, including the Temple of Elemental Evil game. I followed that shit storm from start to finish... that game now sits on my self.

Has the gaming industry just gone mad or is it run by short sighted idiots?! Why the hell would you do this. In favor of console games?
Do you know what the average age of a videogame player is now adays? Twenty-fucking-nine. Gamers want a serious realistic world. We know how the real world is, I for one don't want carebare boobie teasing FPS games on consoles. I want mature content, not censored kiddy crap stuff. Not games that have zero children, prositutes, or drinking of alchohol. *points to ToEE*

I'm a college student, and every single one of my friends has a computer. If they figure there is a larger market in console gaming they maybe right... But computer sales have done very well! More people own computers now then ever (guess). In fact, i would say that in my age group, there is potential for both computer games and console.

I for one will not buy from Interplay. This is my protest. I want them to die like the crazed rabid dog they are, so the fallout license will change hands to a more responsible and intelligent company. I want to take some action, anything to voice this.

I hardly think that children, alcohol and prostitutes are necessary for a good game. Look at Super Mario Brothers 3, or Civilization.
 
I think you missed what i was trying to say... for these types of games, taking them out just makes the world seem a whole lot less believable. No children in a village? No prositutes in a brothel? While it is possible that a population of over a thousand (village of Hamlet in ToEE) wouldnt have a single child, or having prostitues (the worlds oldest profession) in a fantasy world, it just comes down to censorship. Civiliazation and mario brothers are really a totally different type of game. Bottom line, you should have a believable atmosphere. Give the game a Mature rating and dont tone it down.

Not trying to derail this thread. Down with interplay.
 
Damn, that's hardly the kind of news I was expecting to read today. It's only noon, for Christ's sake, my defenses are still down at noon, and I feel so goddamn bad right now. Depressed. Lost. Confused. Stoned too, but that's an entirely different story.

Anyway: no Fallout 3. I saw this coming, but still: it hurts. And it hurts deep. I feel like I really really want to hurt someone with a toothpick or something and laugh about it afterwards.

Now: what kind of a totally retarded Interplay moron took this decision? Anyone know that mofo's name? His address maybe? I say we kidnap that mofo and assrape him with a PowerFist in front of the entire BIS staff. That'll show him. No mercy. No pain, no gain.

Damnit. This means what? That we'll be forced to play Fallout and Fallout 2 over and over again until we die of old age? What? I WANT A NEW FALLOUT, GODDAMNIT, AND I WANT IT REAL SOON.

Anyway, thanks to Briosafreak and Odin and all the others who reported on the whole Van Buren Saga. This stuff was my daily soap. Much appreciated.

no, there are alot of MOD's being made right now for fallout 1 and 2 (Mutants Rising, Trinity) so we shouldn't be left without new Fallout material for too long, but still...I WANT FALLOUT 3!!!
 
This is an outrage. We will make them pay dearly. I have created an account on IPLY forums and posted a reaction in Interplay Feedback board. The post itself is fairly uninteresting, but I mentioned some methods we should use against Interplay. Here's the link. What I think is we shouldn't just sit here and whine, but spread the word among ignorant people and let everybody know how lame Interplay's products are. Boycotting IPLY isn't enough - we need to make sure other people boycott them as well.

Any suggestions what our first move should be?
 
yes, stop being a dumb radical. boycotting will never work, since there are too many people who will still support IPLY (F:POS allready went gold, remeber?). i say we just leave'em alone and wait for their banktrupcy (which won't take longer then 3 months i say).

So that is the end of Fallout. Really disappointing. I begin to hate BIS, because they killed my dream and destroyed the reason to live. I don't know, what am I going to do right now. Maybe a letter, maybe a bullet, maybe a bottle of something really alcoholic. Just to forget the phrase from my nightmares: "BIS is no more. Project 'Fallout 3' was closed..."

EDIT: Yeap, of course a mistake. Of course, I hate Interplay - satan, not BIS - innocent victim. Just to much pain to think clearly...
Where the hell does this world goes? Lionheart was the worst RPG that has ever arrived in the shops. Really. What the heck does Interplay think about its fans?

Let Interplay crumble, shouldn't take more than a couple of years at the most. The license will become available, another company will purchase it.

Fallout 3 will arrive, eventually.

It will take perhaps a decade, at the most; A decade for Fallout 3 to be collecting dust, since you've already played it and put it down.

I'll be most than half the way to 40 by then, but, eventually, will see it.

I will continue to visit this site, or the ones that come after.

So much for not sabotaging FOBOS... so F3 can finish development...

Now it's time to trash it (and its sequel, and anything else Interplay makes) wherever it rears its head: Iplay forums, Gamespy, any reviewer foolish enough to have a forum open after they review it.

Bad word of mouth works (Tactics), esp. if you're explicitly trying to make the game fail.

I'll do my part.

Like I said on their boards, I'm now on a de facto boycott, since I sincerely doubt they'll ever make another game that I would consider buying. I'm a PC gamer, not a console one.


Damn, it's rough to have your hopes crushed like this. Been waiting for a sequel for a long time now and when it finally looked like it could happen, Herve Caen once again proved that he's an incompetent frog.

Thank you BIS team for trying, I hope you get more rewarding jobs now.

I will do anything in my power to boycott Interplay. I do have some say in the Bulgarian gaming press - and believe me this will not go unnoticed. Intreplay executives made the biggest mistake in their lives, they do not realise how big the fallout community really is. I bet we can show them now.

Just a suggestion: Maybe we can all put something in our signatures on the various forums we visit. Something like "I boycott Interplay" ... Dunno. Anyways I'll go buy some alchohol and drink for Fallout 3.
 
This sucks hard core. I always get up and ckeck these boards before school.....damn it, and I have a test today. This sucks.

What was all the BS about when POS was coming out that "it would not effect the other current projects"

AND THE BS when Josh left, that the game was still on track, man, pure BS.

Well, no there is no reason to even rent or buy FOPOS, also, I could care less if I get kicked of the IPLAY boards, I think we should rip them a new one, and rip fopos a new one.

GAHHHHH! All I wanted for christmas was FO3, for like 3 years..
