The Guns and Ammo Thread

Thats a company in florida that has a distributer agreement with MK Gunmods. The guy in the video is from MK

LTD historical is an 01 FFL, MK is an 07 Manufacturer

MK is building one of these for me right now:
Mine will have the front sight moved out near the end of the barrel and there will be a cutts style muzzle brake on it.

This is another one I am looking at (An MP-3008 clone)

I bought 6 firearms in the past several years. I watch prepper videos online, and I never heard anyone talk about Mayans or Planets.

Preppers seem a little far out there to me.

Nothing wrong with being prepared for disasters of one kind or another, but end of the world stuff?

Not so much.

Most preppers I've run into are pretty sane. Of course, there's a few who give the rest a bad image. But then, they were pretty nutty before "prepping" became big.

I've never run into anyone who really believes in the zombie apocalypse, but it's been used to make prepping more fun, and more like a hobby, than the grim task that it might sound like.

As for guns, impulse bought a Mosin Nagant 91/30 from a Dealer (so, it's in jail for now).

Been hitting up the local shops looking for a bargain without much luck. They all seem to have literally hundreds of ARs, but like ~3 different combat shotguns in stock.

There's a Gun Show coming next month, so I'm pretty excited for that. I'm sure you guys have been to plenty, any idea what to expect?

*edit*

Oh, and after handling a bunch of 870 express(es?); I'm pretty turned off from that model. They seemed cheap/low quality (Not to piss anyone off if there's any hardcore rem fans here).

I watch prepper videos on Youtube all the time, but they say nothing about "the end of the world".

They keep repeating that non-sense only in that goofy "Doomsday Preppers" show on National Geographic. :| But the National Geographic is working hard to make people look retarded. That's why I watched only 1 episode of that show.

Lots of people, obviously, but you should expect to see all kinds of stuff being sold, not just guns. Depending on where you're going, you might get some of the flea market action in there as well. Lots of "survival" stuff and hunting gear - lots of jerky, knives (both quality and cheaply made wallhangers). Emergency preparedness kits, holsters, bags.

You should be able to find great deals on ammunition, however.

Finding a deal on a firearm may not be so great from a vendor with a table/stall who is selling new guns at retail. However, there's a much better chance of running into someone trying to offload some of their used guns - and that's where you can find the good deals.

Just remember that you should know what you're looking for, and don't be afraid to haggle.

That's an insult to the mentally challenged. Doomsday preppers is even worse than that.

You forgot swords. The always have a shitload of cheap knockoff fantasy swords at the gunshow.

Plus military surplus - good and bad.

I have always ha better luck pricewise getting a dealer to do a transfer rather than going to shows. Some of the vendor's at shows charge the same or even more than retail.

Checked the last three shops on my list today, and got to mess around with several Mossbergs (bunch of 500s and a 590). None of the prices were particularly good, ranging from $50-$150 above what I'm seeing at Bud's, but I don't doubt I could get the price down a bit by haggling a little and paying in cash.

The dude at the last store was really helpful, and told me to just wait on buying until the gun show rolls into town next month to get the best deal. When inquiring about their shell costs, he said to go to Walmart instead and look for the 5x3 value packs. Not a great salesman, but a really cool guy.

That's what I was hoping for. Finding something like a used 870 Police at the price of one of those shitty new 870 Expresses would be awesome.
