I've never understood why suppressors are a restricted item? It's basically hearing protection.
Stupid government.
Because it's easier to kill someone without anyone hearing it?
Check crime statistics of registered suppressors being used for killings in the USA. Really. Do it. I'll wait.

Shit, check the stats for a use of a suppressor in a crime period.

Looks like fun with a 25 round mag...

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! You don't need to go that far (professional grade equipment) Suaside.

Just go and buy yourself a metal cased oil filter unit.
Sure, but they tend to even obscure scopes on rifles due to how big they are.
Not very good if you actually want to aim. But sure, if you just want to pop someone in the back, that's not really a concern.

It is real.

And utterly retarded. And the americans seem to love it.

Problems:
- Very ackward to grip
- To load the weapon you have to push the rod that sticks out at the barrel, thus making it easy to break some firearms safety rules along the way.
- Clearing jams is bullshit.
- Aim, what aim?

I'm also unclear of the legalities of mounting it onto another rifle for americans. Doesn't that strictly speaking convert a pistol into a rifle because the "mother"-rifle has a stock? I thought that was a no-no in US law.

But whatever, people seem to like it. Who am I to judge?

It would be legal everywhere except the commie states with severe magazine limits, since it uses the ruger 10 round rotary magazine.

I just don't see the charm. It's certainly not revolutionary. It's just a .22lr, blow-back operated pistol in a clunky, ergonomically unfriendly case. You can mount it to a stock or a rifle in our country, assuming you have registered the pistol as a Short Barreled Rifle. So another $200 and a six month wait to have a useless stock.

I can't think of a lot of things I'd like to have bolted to my AR. A bulky .22lr pistol with a long magazine hanging off the bottom is not on that short list. With my limited imagination, I cannot think of any circumstance where I would suddenly need to switch to .22lr in combat or competition.

I suppose it is cool that they are trying, though. And in fairness, I thought the PS90 was pretty stupid until I shot one.

Zip seems to be a neat idea but it isn't there yet.
The placement of charging and clearing handles are a disaster waiting to happen, it is reported to be prone to jamming in non-standard conditions and the ergonomics of the gun are off unless your hands are just the right size.

This way of sidearm design may be a good choice in the future but it needs a few new generations worth of iterations to file away the rough edges and make it more reliable.

BN; the sight block issue depends on the optic(s) one is using. Even with regular flush on rifle scopes, one can get a workable sight picture from his/her scope:

*There was another video where the shooter of that video tried different optics on a pistol (reflex, holo, aftermarked ironsights and so on) but can't find it atm.

Most folks in the gun community seem more upset that USFA has stopped making their very well done single action cowboy shooters to pursue the zip gun.

*shrugs*

I wasn't planning on buying either.

It's a hilarious joke too because it jams on like every other round. Unless you're using the recommend type of magazines, in which case it jams every three or four rounds.

It is the genius idea for a silly range queen though. It's fairly cheap, it looks cool, and it's chambered in a caliber you can buy by the thousands with out breaking the bank (assuming normal ammo prices)

Hmm...

(puts in a new law that this weapon is the only one to be available to anyone else than the military)

So.... I did a gunshow over the weekend.

only one guy had .22LR ammo... $42.00 for 100rd plastic box WTF!!!

Some prices on mags are starting to come down. PMAG prices have fallen from $50-60 down to $30.

There were very few AKs or AR15s and they were all in the $1100-2500 rangs (and up...)

the most readily available ammo were reloads of dubious quality.

My friend bought a mossburg 590 with a pre-blackhawk recoil absorbing stock+ speedfeed stock and heat shield for $450.

I just bought a couple knives and some H&K stock sets.

What are your thoughts on the PS90? Love the P90, and the PS90 is the closest a civvie American is going to get to owning one. It's on my list of things to get in the future when I have, y'know, money. Interested to hear from someone knowledgeable who has actually shot one.

In other news, as soon as my union contract shenanigans are done, I may actually finally possibly be able to get my first firearm. I've gone to the local gunstore with the largest selection of rentable pistols a few times and narrowed down my selections to three:

1) FNH FNX-9
2) Beretta PX4 Storm
3) Ruger SR9

The Ruger was a surprise -- I honestly wasn't even considering Ruger until I tried the SR9 out on an impulse. Felt really good in-hand and shot nicely to boot. Haven't actually gotten to shoot the PX4 -- they only had it in .40 and were out of .40 ammo (damn knee-jerk "Obama's gonna take my guns" screwing everything up when I'm trying to get into firearms).

Tried a couple of Glocks and my opinion seems to jive with most: nice gun, shoots well, but feels like I'm holding a brick.

In a few weeks I'll have a nice new (to me) rifle shipped right to my door.

I hear Patton was a big fan.

I think the ergonomics take some getting used to, it is very controllable, works better than I thought it would with it's complicated magazine, and seems pretty decent. I would own one but for the fact that it shoots dollar bills and there is effectively a single source of ammo, that being FN.

When I worked at my old shop, we sold a bunch to our local SWAT team. They traded them back in after a couple of shootings. Felt like the guy died from the first round, but it took too many follow-ups for him to realize it. The combination of perceived lack of 'stopping power' combined with the politics of round counts in the media proved to be too much, and they went back to the AR platform.

I've thought about buying one several times, and I have friends who reload with SS109 to a great degree of success. However, until ammo becomes cheaper and/or readily available from multiple sources, I'll pass. I have enough quirky guns as it stands.
