Heh, thx I guess, if I ever get the chance to a vacation in Belgium I will sure stop by
I wanted to buy a Glock, but there's a wait. I can't afford to put that kind of cash up when it's not even a sure thing. Not a felon, but shit. I'll just buy mine hot from a friend I know.
Indeed, yesterday I tackled two firsts in one go: first time meeting an NMA'er and first time at the shooting gallery. I had a lot of fun. SuAside is a super stand-up guy and a great instructor. We both quickly felt completely at ease around him. Even the gallery's own people had nothing but the highest praise for him.Took clercqer and his wifey shooting today. I think it won't be long before we have another gun nut on the forum.
All guns were a blast to shoot. Especially the magnum...They tried out the .22LR Taurus Tracker, .22LR Beretta 87 Target, .357Mag MR-73, 9x19mm Sig Sauer X-Five AL and the 5.56x45mm SAN SwissArms Sig 551 SB.
Even though he shot his fair share of magnum rounds, at the end he was still shooting damn admirably with the X-Five. We just might have a natural on our hands if it wasn't pure beginner's luck.
Most popular gun of the day for both novices:
Welcome back Johnny!
I really like that 9mm carbine.
What other calibers do you have?
Yup, but Tikka is the "budget" brand. Still gets very nice results regardless. Both TRG and Tikka are manufactured by SAKO, a Finnish armaments company.
Another insanely cheap option is the Sig Sauer SSG3000 Patrol. The stock isn't all that great, but the rifle itself is basically the normal SSG3000 or STR200. Sometimes they're on sale for very low prices because they're rather unknown. Full of handy features and accurate as hell.Domestically, if I were to recommend a bolt gun in .308 that could serve most folks better than they could shoot it, it would probably be the FN SPR A3. You get a Win 70 short action in a McMillian stock and a decent barrel for under $1500 USD.

Too bad Beretta now ownes both. It's always a loss of national culture when that happens.
The ARX-160 is "in the lead" for the Finns, no doubt because it would be produced at Sako. There was some talk recently of the Finnish Defence Forces looking for a replacement for the RK-62 / -95 assault rifle and one prominent candidate was the ARX - 160 by Beretta. I wonder if there's some scheming going on and Beretta is going to scoop the deal or something. That ARX looks kind of plasticky and boxy to me, might be good though, don't really know.
It is weird, but has some nice features, like swapping ejection side within 20 seconds and without spare parts. If that's worth anything on the battlefield that's another discussion though. The ARX-160, on the other hand, looks like it escaped from Bizarro-world.
It is very pretty indeed, but people often piss on Kimber for using parts that wear quickly. 10mm Auto being especially brutal, what's their reputation in the US?While I was in the shop, I saw they had a relatively uncommon Kimber Eclipse 10mm with the Novaks instead of their Bomar clone target sights.
Largely a gimmick, but it's functional. Interesting mechanical design to say the least. Not a bad target revolver. Due to the lower placement of the barrel and the slightly recoiling action, it has lower felt recoil than a normal revolver in the same caliber.I'm no gun nut, but what do you guys think of my mental top 3 of guns?
-Mateba Revolver
The internals of this gun looks like Swiss clockwork.-H&K G11
A good bullpup, but it's starting to show its age. It's starting to lack features and the stock trigger is pretty bad.-Steyr Aug
WTF are you talking about. It's not legal to hunt an elephant with this ANYWHERE, because the bullets in this revolver are woefully inadequate for this type of game.1- A hunting revolver, fine if you want to hunt elephants or something, impractical for self defense or warfare.
Can't you adjust it? What kind of red dot is it?I'm liking my new AR, but the red dot scope is off.
