The Guns and Ammo Thread

It is true that they are not cheap, but to some extent, cost is relative. I paid something like $250 for a 100 round Beta C a couple years back. The Surefire magazine is more compact and less complicated by a fair margin. It's 60% of a Beta C's capacity, but it's only 60% of it's cost as well.

Like my Beta C, it is nice to have as a novelty. However, very few of the competitions I participate in would favor this kind of capacity. Most require a reload or two as part of each course of fire. The Surefire does fit in my mag carrier, but I really have to crank the retention down to keep it from falling out while running.

If I had a full auto M16 of some variant or the other, I'd probably own ten of these things. As it stands, one is enough for now.

What bothers me most is that a Beta C is complex, but a Surefire is fairly straightforward. There's no real reason for them to be so expensive as far as I can see.

LOL, now THAT would get expensive quick...
Just think of all that ammo.

The price has come down considerably. I paid $139 each for two of them this weekend at a gunshow in New Orleans.

I now have three, the first one cost me $260 though... :?

I also picked up a stoger/condor 12ga over/under for $300 so I can finally make my sawed off over/under a reality.

I just bought two more Sten kits.

I think im going to have a vertical feed with long ventilated shroud carbine version made.

not sure what to do with the second kit yet though... maybe ill get a sterling parts set and have a hybrid Stenling made (possibly a long shroud carbine... side feed or maybe bottom feed)

They are new and popular now. Just wait few years and you can buy them for $25 each.

1847 Colt Walker

Imported by Replica Arms Co. El Paso, TX

Manufactured by Uberti Arms, Italy in 1963

Walker Colts always remind me of Josey Wales.

And from my end, I just got two more Sten Kits. I will be having one made into a Long Shroud Vertical feed Carbine. Not sure about the second kit though.

One of the reasons I got it. Alsoplustoo - it was $100 at a gunshow and it's worth $400.

Alsoplustoo, I need to get another one to match Josey Wales rig, since I have the other two pistols he carried in the movie.

Quiz time: what were the other two guns the Outlaw Josey Wales carried? (not counting his two colt walkers)?

Close, but no cigar.

His two other pistols were the Colt 1860 Army in .44 caliber and the Colt 1849 Pocket in .31 caliber

My wife decided she wants a browning hi-power after firing one over the weekend. Evidently, it is more fun for her to shoot than a smith and wesson 629.
Timeless classic.

But the trigger isn't for everyone, really.

Just my luck, she wants a specific browning hi-power clone.

An Arcus-94 (Bulgarian from Arsenal made for export).

I just happened to find one that has been sitting in a shop for 10+ years.

Looks like she will get it soon.

The shop owner has a polish P83 as well. It takes regular makarov mags, but the trigger is unbelievable. I want!

I will have to get rid of a makarov to pay for it though.
