The 'MrMattyPlays' Fallout 4 Review "A Near Perfect Game"

True, but It's still incomprehensible to me that a human being could give Fallout 4 the title of 'Near Perfect' and have a large amount of people agree with them.

It's not like hyperbole would be controversial in the age of "10/10 goty". xD

Still, 'Near Perfect'

I can't think of anything that I've ever considered 'Near Perfect'

People need to understand what PERFECT actually means.

Off the top of my head I'd consider Deus Ex and Deus Ex: Human Revolution to be a near perfect video game. While it's not a complete RPG like the original, it was a thoroughly well-written experience with great gameplay and was more of an RPG than Fallout 4 is. There's probably a couple more of that level of quality.

Ah, Deus Ex. The one classic that I have still yet to play. Is it true that anytime someone mentions Deus Ex on the Internet someone reinstalls it?

Yahtzee Croshaw made a joke about that saying everytime someone mentions Deus Ex, someone reinstalls and plays the beginning of it and quits again - thus making it a game in which everyone is extremely familiar with the first hour of it.

IMO both the original and Human Revolution are "near perfect" games because they do exactly what they set out to do extremely well and don't try to be something they're not like a certain other game that came out recently. They simultaneously have a good amount of depth while maintaining a sharp focus and strong writing/narrative.

Too many games to play, such little time to play them. Deus Ex is on the list.

On mine too.

I saw his review. It's about what I expected. FO4 is no where near a "near perfect" game. I mean, I suppose it is if you "ZOMG DAT PHAT L00T YO MUH BORDERLANDS!" type of affair.

Mr. Matty is a trusted Fallout veteran and borderline household name among true Fallout fans. If he says it's good you guys should listen rather than sitting at your computers and nitpicking at the man.

And if he would be Obama himself ellected as the new Pope.

I would call him a lunatic if he said something like, Fallout 4 has great dialog at least as good if not even better than Fallout 1 and is an awesome Fallout RPG.

Have some rads for going all out with the user name and making me smile.

Holy shit. I think you guys should take a look at these vids:

I think he got some flack from someone to do with Fallout/Bethesda/Can't remember. Thats why he "updated his thoughts" :/

I really don't want to give that guy traffic. The one time I checked the comments on that first video, he couldn't get into the originals and had no intention to play them.

So what're his "updated" thoughts?

Like I'm going to take that response seriously, besides saying the only people that agree that it's a perfect or near perfect game are people that have never touched a good RPG or played the originals.

I'm glad PS:Torment wasn't mentioned yet, means we all understand it isn't near perfect. hehe
Never played it but I watched some Let's Play on Youtube and it looks really good. I've never heard anyone say anything bad about it. If I have a lot of time in the future I'll try it.

Just to add to the near perfect discussion- Baldurs Gate, A Link To The Past, Deus Ex and FF6.
I ment anyone that said Fallout 4 was near perfect if you were thinking I said games in general. I agree with Deus Ex, it's a really good game.

Yeah I really want to give it a go. It seems really nice.
Damn I feel like going through it again now. I recommend it, the game is really good as long as you can get past the dated graphics. It's funny how it gets hard to go through a game with modern day graphics a second time but yet playing a old classic game that doesn't have graphics like today is very enjoyable to run through again and again.

Dated graphics? I can play Morrowind and get awed by the art, and play Fallout without worrying at all. Dated graphics, what's that?
