The official "Where we review Mass Effect: Andromeda" thread *spoilers*

I honestly think the makers of modern forms of media literally think to themselves "Well, people are stupid, people will ignore the bad (90% of the game), for the good, right?"

I have to use small words to explain myself to people who can't come up with a reason why they dislike it. :)

I like long running franchises which don't change very much: Telltale Games, Assassins Creed, the Elder scrolls, Halo (before Guardians), Call of Duty, Mass Effect, Bethesda Fallout, and Dragon Age.
You don't think Fallout 4 changed drastically from Fallout 3?
I can point out many changes between both, in technical stuff, writing, game systems and features, quests and quest resolution, dialogue and dialogue system, RPG system and features, combat, guns, items, etc.
Fallout 4 is to Fallout 3 what Skyrim is to Daggerfall...

I gave it a lot of slack for the Master Chief/Cortana stuff.

You know, which they spat on.

Not that I wasn't hoping for a resurrection because, hey, computer program.

I love how they shoehorned in cortana going apeshit and shit.

"Sexy blue lady without clothes" was the only character anyone cared about, apart from "Emotionless non-human man-fridge in green armour dude".

The character study attempt by 343 studios is fucking terrible. Chief was an enigma - he was just a device for the player to navigate and experience the world through...pretty much a Doom Guy for the UNSC. All they had to do was keep two things consistent - chief and cortana - the dynamic duo.

Now, Chief is an edge lord emo with a death wish, and Cortana is a raging A.I. going through a long overdue menopause. Thank you for the contribution 343 - wonderful work.

I love how for some reason, they think a 7 foot tall killing machine brainwashed into stomping anything people tell it to, would have emotions. XD

Obviously he would because if he was an emotionless soldier, he'd be a shit one.

Mind you, I'd think the Spartans blowing up the Earth government would have been a better sequel.

:)

Because fuck those guys and ONI too.

I've mostly just played Halo 1, but the most emotion he had was the ocassional one liner/joke.

The rest of the time he slaughters retreating enemies, and punches flood-humans in the face.

In the wise words of YMS: Just enjoy the game by ignoring parts of the game!
You, it's really sad because I think Bioware had a real chance to create some real Science Fiction Role Playing Game here. You know, the idea of different rances, with different ideals and ideologies for the player to explore and use. But no, that thing needs a 'human' element again fighting super evil to save the poor. *Yawn*.

A lot of the game is exploring Angaran culture, discovering the mystery of the Remnant, and diplomacy with the locals.

One thing which is really confusing is this game is far far FAR more dialogue based than Mass Effect's original 3 games.

combat is much much less focused on.

It's weird because none of the reviewers have commented on it.
