The Ultimate Movie Thread of Ultimate Destiny

Yeah it fucking sucked. Premise is entirely broken by the fact that the dude was estranged from his family and fundamentally disagreed with their beliefs.

Movie would've been a billion times better if the family had found out he got married and didn't tell them and then kidnapped them for the ritual. It at least would've made sense then.

I was recently watching "Hereditary" but couldn't bother to finish it. I loved the Babadook back then, but I just find this movie boring. anyone else seen it?

Yeah. I thought it was brilliant with minor flaws. The acting, the overall theme, the way it was filmed...all fantastic. Toni Collette is a godsend.

Not available anymore. Anyway Star Wars under Kathlyn Kennedy is a low hanging fruit by now. Did anyone seriously expect an awesome movie here?

Just go watch the Mandalorian or something and be glad that they will probably take over now.

THE FINAL ORDER! Wow, JJ what a visionary. Hopefully people finally see him for the hack he truly is.
Edit: Video was taken down, so here is a prelude to George Lucas' fury

Why are people still clapping at the opening crawl of a Star Wars movie? I mean, I get it with the Force Awakens because it was the first SW movie in a decade, but there s a Star Wars movie every year now, it's like clapping at the title card for a Fast and Furious movie.

Or better yet, don't give the mouse any more money ever.
Considering how big the Mouse is, they probably even make money from your Druglords in Colombia.

So you could as well ask us to stop breathing.

The Mouse will always make money. Always ...

Fittingly enough, I just came back from watching the movie.
Well, it was better than TLJ, so there's that. You can basically completely skip TLJ and go directly from TFA to TROS and not really miss anything. However, it had to live with there being a middle-part of a trilogy not really adding anything or going anywhere, so the story is quite rushed.
All in all it wasn't even a fraction of the boring insult that was TLJ, but it had too much on its plate to salvage the mess that was left over from the last movie. They had to squeeze out some form of finale, but also the lead-up to that finale in the same movie.
It had some awkward moments, some weak acting, some really odd pacing and some plain bullshit purely for the rule of cool. If they all had this storyline properly planned out from the beginning, it could have worked. It's a bit of a rehash of Dark Empire in some basic aspects, but it could have worked out. TFA was fine with the set-up, and Ep. 8 should have introduced the main villain reveal and the chase for the McGuffin that was the first half of this movie, and then Ep. 9 could have done the final confrontation act and so on.

I will watch it through rage tweets and gifs, I guess. At least this dumb bullshit is now over (Who am I kidding?).

So what your saying is instead of going to a movie you went to an autopsy.

Question
Is it true they called the McGuffin the "Wayfinder"? Because that's on the level of masturbatory lack of imagination as calling a mineral the Unobtanium
