Things you *aren't* pleased to see

Yeah, I know, but my speech is too low and my INT is too high. I consider taking the Bachelor option.

Yeah, seriously, it's a good perk given that a big chunk of enemies are male and you get that attack bonus.

Oh Arcade.

Yeah. And seriously, "Confirmed Bachelor" in NV sounds more like "Homosexual" most of the time.

I hated those INACCESSIBLE doors. Why couldn't I blast the lock or put a dynamite there?

And I disliked the impression that you get a huge world map to explore. In reality, 50% of it was unreachable.

Inaccessible doors is basically either unfinished content or map designer oversight, from what I understood. It's usually, like, a door that leads into a wall or map end or something. Others are unfinished content. And yet others eventually become accessible if you do it right (I've seen one of those thus far).

@Big Iron references

I actually don't mind that song. The song that haunts my dreams is Johnny Guitar.

"dun dun dun dun dun like my JOHNNY!! OHHH JOHNNY GUITAAAARRR!"

God damn it, it belongs in a horror movie.

Christ, this. Big Iron is at least southwestern, but fuck Johnny Guitar. It's the biggest fucking drag. I was in a hard part once that took a lot of reloads, and I noticed on the fifth reload that Johnny Guitar was on every single time. Switched it to Mojave Radio, heard one of those upbeat guitar tunes, and finished my firefight alive.

well Johnny guitar is a 50s country song.

Speaking of blasting the lock of using dynamite, though, that's another thing that I missed from NV. No more neglecting lockpick and still being able to get through the occasional door...

That's because that's what it means. Confirmed bachelor is slang for homosexual.

Uhu. That ads a whole new level to role playing.

Hmm, curious, never knew that.

OK, here's one thing that completely pisses me off - how come Brotherhood PA is better than Enclave PA? That makes no sense whatsoever.

I'm loving it. Outside of the Sims, last time I could play a dude who likes dudes was Fallout 2. Nice to see us fags getting a little representation 8-)

The description wasn't very revealing so I didn't realize till about 10 hours in... then I was like... wait, am I gay?

What did you think the guy/guy version of Ladykiller meant?

I don't know, that you were like... really cool. Like a real beer drinking, fist pounding "bro".

This puts the fist-pumping fratboy "bro" in a new light...

...wait, no it doesn't. ;)

Fable.

OK, to add to a list of things that make NO FUCKING SENSE: how come does Slayer perk require 90 Unarmed? What is a Melee-oriented character supposed to do?! This is bullshit.

I kind of miss that mood system that was present in the original games (i.e. NPCs changed their attitude to the PC when triggered properly. this attitude could be either friendly, neutral or unfriendly). Right now you can't really piss NPCs off and even if you say something offensive you can get back to the previous dialog line and act as if nothing happened*. I miss one-liners too, them funny ways of saying "fuck you" -- in original Fallouts your character had some personality, now they don't (as far as I saw, there are some attempts but it's still too less). The writing in F:NV is pretty good, though.

* Just 18 hours into the game so I hope it will change by the time I finally get to Vegas.

It's ironic this would be removed by Bethesda as they implemented something similar into the Elder Scrolls titles, even Oblivion.

Humm.. I hadn't thought on this before. Nice catch.

I guess that because they carried over Ninja (and its 80 Melee requirement) from Fallout 3, which is an awesome perk for both Melee AND Unarmed players; they evened it out with Slayer, forcing Melee players to go through the same idiotic skill dump that Unarmed players have to.

They probably didn't feel like working out an either/or system for perk requirements.

That was the system that allowed you to turn pet owner against dog and husband against wife right?
