Upcoming movies 2010

Cowboy's versus Aliens? It's like cowboys riding dinosarus. It speaks to the five year old in all of us.

Like Axe Cop.

I feel ill every time I see a television commercial for the new Conan the Barbarian movie. Remake = let's reduce the color palette to dark hues and add lots of screaming.

It looks absolutely horrible. I was actually somewhat excited about a big budget remake of Conan but the trailer is not appealing in any way whatsoever and the main guy looks like he should be in Mortal Kombat instead.

So any opinions on this?

That looks like pre-venom Bane, still probably in prison. Catwoman is what I'm more worried about, I hope they drop her and have Talia al Ghul instead.

So you are surprised that the new entry in the Dark Knight series looks dull and boring? I am a Nolan fan, but those Batman movies are just dull, not even bad. I mean Scarecrow and the Joker are interesting villians, only the latter was actualy well done, now he goes for Catwoman and Bane, wich have to be one of the most boring villians in the Batman mythos, next time it will be about Calendarman or something.

Nolan said he wanted the more ''grounded'' villains, those that don't have much super-science powering them (ala Poison Ivy or Mr. Freeze or whatever his name is). It's up to him and the actors he chooses if it makes them dull.

Bane is a skinny dude that injects himself with a drug that makes him into a giant, that's a grounded villian? Why not use The Riddler? or Hugo Strange? Hell even the Penguin.

I have the feeling the real reason is that all of those villains have been already shown one way or another in the other movies. Remember how many Batman movies have been already made. And frankly the Dark Knight saga is the FIRST Batman movies which do NOT suck hard - if they are great is another question but hands down the other ones are just shit. Low grade entertainment. I think those new movies are at least trying it and they are decent. Though regarding the Joker he was a must. He is one of the best villains anyway (even outside of the Batman franchise)

Riddler would have been the best option to go with, he could have gone around putting people in "Saw" like death traps and all. Mr. Freeze is actually a really good villain to because of his origin story but I doubt he'll ever be on the big screen again after Schwarzenegger's catastrophe. Penguin is an interesting villain but he's never been done correctly before, I actually want to see how Arkham City portrays him to see if it pulls it off.

I think the villains of this movie should have been the Riddler and either Black Mask or Hush, now that would be worth seeing. A good gritty Riddler has never really been done before on film and I don't think Black Mask or Hush have ever been in a Batman movie at all so that would be pretty interesting.

Edit: Catwoman has always seemed like a fanservice-y character to me, that's why I don't like her.

Edit: Hush would have tied in really well to the first two movies, since Crane was the person who released him from the psych ward he was in as a boy. He would also work well with the Riddler because of this,

Wikipedia said:
At some point in his career, Edward Nigma (also known as the Riddler) was diagnosed with terminal cancer, eventually hijacked one of Ra's al Ghul's Lazarus Pits to regain his health. During this mystical treatment, which renders the participant temporarily insane, the highly intelligent Nigma experienced an unexpected epiphany, realizing that Bruce Wayne is Batman. Soon afterwards the Riddler attempted to sell Elliot the secrets of the Lazarus Pit in exchange for a large cash sum. Elliot, by this time having discovered Nigma's criminal background, instead offered to pay the Riddler to kill his childhood enemy Bruce Wayne. Realizing that they shared a common hatred for Wayne, Elliot and the Riddler decided to pool resources to bring him down. To this end, Elliot created for himself the persona of Hush (The name is said to have been coined by the Scarecrow, referencing the lullaby "Hush Little Baby" due to its subject being a child who could never be satisfied with what he had).[1] The name fits for Elliot, who prefers to employ guile and manipulation in place of noisier tactics such as gunplay.

Two-Face? sorry but I just bursted out laughing at his exposed craniunbeign only the exact half of his face, and that with a gasoline burn, not acid.

Yeah well that's kind of the source material's fault, not the CGI's. I think it was still more believable looking than most depictions of Two-Face, look at this for example:

or:

and suddenly this:

looks pretty damn realistic.

Edit: Two-Face is also a great villain, so don't hate.

Nah, it only looks "gritty", actualy Tommy Lee Jones looks less ridiculous, the guy has exposed bone and skin hanging from it, looks like the Cryptkeeper, I Laughed my ass off with that Two Face.

You laughed your ass off at Jones' Two-Face or Eckhart's Two-Face? Jones' was horribly miscast for that role, his "good" side just looks like a sleazy used car salesman.

Edit: The only thing that bothered me with Eckhart's Two-Face was the eye. Does he carry eyedrops around with him wherever he goes?

I Laughed at the look of Eckhart's Two Face, it looks terribly ridiculous, specialy for a movie that tells us how SUPER REALISTIC it is, I mean the guy doesn't have any kind of bandage and he is in a Hospital in that screenshot, also his eye is perfectly intact, and he can talk normaly, he should sound like if Stalone Suffered an Embolia, Jone's look is stupid, but even tha one looks less ridiculous than Eckhart's Two-Face.
