like bethesda would notice....
They do take some account of what is going on here, you can occasionally see Bethesda developers browsing the forums (Hi guys! :boy:).

I'm getting the "Failed to create D3DDrive" error too. Where the hell is f3.ini??

Edit: the only thing in the 'My Documents' F3 folder is some text document. If that's it then what exactly do I fiddle with there?

I'm sure they take notice individually, but as a whole Bethesda's mandate is to appeal to the lowest common denominator so it still doesn't matter.
And before anyone says they hope I'm wrong and I'll just have been another n00b who made himself look stupid.. hey.. I hope you're right.

It's in the F3 folder in My Documents.

Oh.My.God. My dreams come true! ...I'll be in my room with some tissue paper... ohh come to daddy! *squeals like a school girl*

I'm almost having the D3DDevice error. I've located the .ini file, but I'm not sure what to do with it. My drivers and DirectX are both up to date.

Im just impressed this ran with no issues on my Vista Ultimate 64 machine... stupefied really.

I guess the ini file is not created since the game won't run. The text file is a log file which is something different.

Sorry, I never get a chance to practice any Icelandic and that's the only phrase I remember. :(

Don't be sorry. My shock was mostly related to the fact that someone else on the Internet not only wrote something in Icelandic, but did it flawlessly.

I wish I could say the same for the rest of my fellow countrymen, whom seem to be making it a pasttime to wreck the language with bad grammar and worse spelling.

i've been coming to this site for quite a while now, but never posted anything before. just wanted to give a big THANK YOU to everyone! this totally made my day.

just 2 minutes left in queue. :)

While playing this demo I've experienced the same feeling that i had while playing FO 1&2 ant first 5 minutes of Tactics. *sigh* this would have been a great Fallout game  .

Holy shit!

It seems news of the tech demo is spreading like wildfire! If that is not good advertising for N.M.A I don't know what is.

Other site covering the Van Buren demo is www.ggmania.com, www.gamershell.com, www.computergames.ro.
Also it came out on the public torrent sites. It's spreading like a wild fire and the interest in this tech demo is fabulous. This should give a hint to Bethesda of what people expects from them.
This tech demo seems to respect the Interplay motto: "By gamers, for gamers"

I doubt we'll ever get the source code, NMA would get raped for posting it up.

Yep, true.

From my blog:
No Mutants Allowed released the Van Buren TechDemo to the public.

Just a personal note to salute the former BIS members from the Van Buren team, particularly Damien Folletto, Scott Everts, Josh Sawyer, Chad Nicholas, Jeff Husges, Sean, Chad and everyone else…

Also a salute to NCRanger, Stillife, Sammael, Kumquatq3, Pope_Viper, Capelworth, Josan and all the nice people that I met at the Interplay forum because of this game.

Odin and Kharn congrats, we finally got it out.

Now time to move into the future…

Amazing, just amazing.

Almost had to take a damn nitro pill to counter the chest pains from the excitement... I would download this asap as who knows how long it will be allowed to be online.

Much thanks to everyone that helped get it, although I am sure names will never emerge you know who you are and you have my gratitude.

BTW - I would have pulled out all the rest of my teeth, and those two kidneys if I got this from just one tooth

Beautiful.

Beautiful. Just beautiful. (Not so much the tech demo, but just the fact that we have it now.)

Thanks to everyone responsible for making this and making it available.

Aye, this was timed pretty well to cause a surge in the fanbase and to illustrate to Bethesda just how much interest a game modeled on the more traditional selling points of Fallout could sustain.

Not that that was anyone's intent... :wiggle:
