Wasteland 2 Kickstarter has launched

You are kidding right? This is only up for 4 or 5 hours I think. Today it will go to 500k for sure!
I'm not kidding. Now all people that know about Wasteland and visit sites such as RPG Codex and NMA are donating but these will eventually run out. The rest who doesn't care won't even know about it until they read it on Kotaku/Reddit or some other site and even then they might think that some no-name company that makes only 'sucky' games wants to steal their money by making an archaic game for mere 900 000 $ (that's actual comment from some retard on Polish site, paraphrased). Can we gather 1M $ only from people who played Wasteland and/or who do not like Bethesda games? Because otherwise I'm afraid it will be difficult.

Yeah I'm pessimistic, that's why spread the word and make me worry less :P. I've put a link on my 'blog' which has mere 5 000 visits per month (or less sometimes) and advertised it where I can. But it's still not enough.

What happens if the charge bounces when it's time?

It was about $40k (Yes, I was refreshing all the time, watching the clock just after I pledged) in just an hour. And you must remember it's pretty early in US right now. Imo they will kick it without a problem. I wouldn't be surprised if they hit over $1m.

Ugh... I want to pledge €150 (I'd pledge way more - I can easily afford it - but I would never be albe to explain to that my girlfriend); but I don't want them to send me any boxed version or collector's stuff (I would only stash it away in a closet anyway, so it'd be development money wasted).
However, I DO want the digital novella, to get in the special thanks section (because of e-peen), and the early beta.

Anyone have any idea how to solve this? Could I ask for the full the full $150 reward and then send them an e-mail that I don't want the stuff shipped to me after all?

You'll pay if it succeeds with the 900k goal.

Ok, thank you. Seems a lot of people are donating it was 108 last i cheked.

edit: any way to modify the rewards, i do not want all the stuff i just want the game, the map and instruction book. Did not see any options so it comes later maybe.

A project I'm backing just succeeded and my credit card was declined. What do I do?

If your pledge was declined just login to Kickstarter and click the “Action Needed” system message on the top of your screen. It will redirect you to Amazon, where you can change your payment method. Alternately, we'll send you an email every 48 hours with a direct link to correct the issue. Don't delay, however: backers have seven days to correct payment issues before they are dropped from the project (and therefore no longer eligible to receive rewards).

You can enter the amount of the pledge that you want and select any reward that's below that number

You can pledge more on a lower-tiered award if you want.

But he wants something that only comes with the $100+ reward (special thanks in the credits) without any of the physical stuff that comes with it. If he selects a lower-tiered reward, it doesn't include the "special thanks" bit.

Yeah. Though that doesn't solve his want-beta-but-not-box problem. You can try mailing them Jebus, but no guarantees. You can click the $100 tier when you donate $150, of course, and they'll probably be willing to help you switch your order to digital.

That said, hell, if you order a box and want to donate it to NMA for use in a contest...

hey twinks your sig should include a link to the kick starter page of wasteland. Not that there is a huge chance that someone on NMA does not know about it by now ... but you never know.

Obviously the rate will go down after the first few days or so as the diehards have already made their purchase. Media and social networking will hopefully push it further. Remind people that they can get a game for $15 that will probably have more content than a title 4 times the cost.

My $100 is going. I guess I did my advertising by posting a link in Fallout wiki. Still need to decide how to pay, though.

This is so great. I'll have a manual-book to read before going to bed. Plus the beta! :)
