Wasteland 2 Kickstarter has launched

Btw, off topic: It seems that the war between Top Down and Isometric is over, right?

We’re going back to the original and building from there. No first person shooter, we’re going top down so you get a tactical feel for the situation. And we’re not ditching the party play to turn it into some hack-and-slash bloodfest. It’s turn based, tactical, with a storyline that will be deeper and broader.

Guys!!!
write to kotaku, gametrailers and other websites emails with request for article or anything about wasteland 2. Write even in comments, when they will see that people demand some news they will add it. It can really help to fund it

IGN put up an article and they're the biggest gaming site out there apparently. Though they actually just updated an older article about the rewards. Either way, the gaming sites know about it I think. :)

Nope. Fargo is using top-down as a general term including both isometric and helicopter view. No definitive decisions on the viewpoint have been made, but I'd put my money on isometric.

I don't think 250k is too far a stretch today is it?

Depends from where you hail. Here there's only 5 hours of today left, but at this rate of increase, it'll be well over 250k by 00.00.

Yeah, there's still another 12 hours where I'm at. (11 on the East Coast)

Almost to 150k!

I want to donate 50 dollars, dammit, I would need to donate extra too because shipping to colombia is expensive.

Isn't the out-of-US- shipping a flat 15$? If you can afford the 50, surely you can cough up an extra 15.

very nice:)
also I think kickstarter gets lots of traffic, that wasteland vid is still caching for me for like 20 minutes...
also fargo should add some info on main inexile page

edit:
I just registered to ign to write comment to this article

*Throws wad of money their way*

I also added the money I 'saved' when I cancelled the old republic and diablo 3, after seeing how the games had been stripped of their complexity to suit the dumbo masses. I refuse to line E/A and Blizzards pockets!

You sure? I don't know, when I bought New Vegas they charged me like 30 dollars more. Even then, I need a credit card...

From the small FAQ at the bottom of Wasteland 2 kickstarter frontpage:
Do I need to pledge more for International shipping?

Yes, please. Add $15 for shipping outside of the U.S. on any pledge of $50 or more.

I think it's worth mentioning that:
I am a collector, can I get a digital copy with my Large Box Copy so I don't have to open the box?

Due to popular demand, the $50 pledge for the Large Box Copy now also comes with a Digital Download copy of the game. We understand the collector mindset!

I hope they will reach 1M $ although for now it doesn't look that good. We need to advertise it better. Anyone with a blog or site should post a link to it for example.

89,797$ in the first few hours seems "pretty good" to me.

I agree with your statement that people who support this project should spread the word if they can.

Things can go really fast in this day and age, If someone were to ask a famous internet commentator like say Total Biscuit about his opinion of Wasteland 2 and if he thinks old-school RPG's can still be viable in today's market thousands of gamers would learn about Wasteland in just a few minutes for example.

I'm so happy that this project is off to a great start. I'm gonna pledge my money tonight after DF Adventure gets funded so I can check if I've got enough money left on my card :)

We should all mail TB to talk about this on his Mailbox show.

It's up on the Kickstarter frontpage as a staff pick, as you'd expect. Always good.

I'll ask Fargo if they can put it on Youtube.

The video took some time to load, a lot of traffic over there.

Pledged 65, I really want this to suceed. Double fine is all fine and nice, but RPGs>Point and click adventures :p

Damn I hope it suceeds.

How come you can always talk directly to Fargo? Are you the Chosen One? :)
