What Fallout 4 should've included

All Fallout 4 really needed was better dialogue and more diverse endings and it would have been a fine game.

It would be by no means a great game, but it would have been acceptable.

On a serious note, I do think Fallout 4 needed 4 actual DLC Expansions.

Autamatron wasn't bad but I didn't care for any of the others.

But on a serious note, how about releasing the full game instead of trying to squeeze as much money out as possible through DLC?

No, it was a nice bit of side story but I wanted four actual Expansions.

I also think that the game would have felt better if they'd just foregone much of the Western map and put Nuka World there while putting Far Harbor in the East.
 
Fallout 4 should have included proper raiders right from the start, with raiders being a viable path for the main quest. Unite the raider tribes and rule the wasteland with an iron fist! Given that the SS has no connections to the Commonwealth it would have been a reasonable path.
It should also have included proper writing. The question wether the player is a synth could have been a big part of the game. Have the game decide randomly at the start of the game wether the player is a synth or not, and let the only option to find out be killing your (possible) synthclone that you meet at the finale, with subtle clues along the way (that could also mislead you). Maybe even let the (possible) synthclone work against you during the main quest, reacting to your actions during the game. You back the BoS, your synthclone dynamically helps the Railroad, something like that. You become a raider, your clone becomes Pesto Gravey's workhorse general. But that would go against Bethesda's rule of letting the player be the Godking of absolutely everything...

I love Bethesda Raiders. The whole aesthetic of them is awesome. I love the whole culture of banditry which has been built up on the East Coast.

Them not being a faction sucks.

I also think the Gunners suck as they feel like Talon Company without the mystery.

I actually give credit to the rebuttal you can give Nick Valentine. "Did you want the Brotherhood of Steel to win?" He just goes, "Well....no but..." It's a nice argument which shuts him up. Piper also comes around and believes in you because she's Lois Lane and you're Superman.

Preston is just a dick. I'm annoyed no one else had a comment, though.
 
On a more personal note, I feel like there's some missing Companion quests.

* Piper and her sister get no resolution. Piper's interview isn't really a quest either.

* Hancock never really confronts the fact his brother has been murdered and replaced by an identical robot.

* Strong never finds Milk of Human Kindness!

Shameful.

Does he even receive any form of character development or resolution for his story? I don't recall that.

(Then again, I abandoned him at one of my settlements because I got really annoyed by his disapproval of lockpicking ("So am I supposed to bash the invulnerable object with my weapons instead, you thick-headed brute?!"))

The only character development I noted was the fact he actually approves of helping humans as apparently Super Mutants are communists and he approves of helping others.

I'd rather he actually got to re-learn humanity and develop as a person, finding a way to suppress the stupid mutant stereotype of Bethesda games and become like Marcus from 2 & New Vegas.

The Stupid Mutant stereotype is from Fallout 1 isn't it? It's due to the fact smart Mutants need to be radiation free. Hence Fawkes is probably one of the original FEV Vaulters.

As for Strong, I agree, but I'm okay with just giving him the object too.

Bethesda's raiders in Fallout 3 were just awful. Plain crazies without any point. It's nice that they tried in Fallout 4 to give them at least the resemblance of a backstory, but given that it's Bethesda, they failed miserably. Adding conveniently placed terminals to read the stories of oh-so-human raiders after you're forced to kill them, yay. Fuck that.
And aesthetics? They're the most generic "evil spikey wasteland craziey" imaginable. Just a plain Road Warrior rip-off without the originality. And "culture of banditry"... Yeah, right. There's no culture. They live in ruins decorated with corpses, and that's all the culture shown, at least in Fallout 3. Again, they tried in Fallout 4, but failed miserably because writing is hard.

That's not a very good rebuttal, that's basically like saying "I vote Trump because I don't want Clinton to win". It's retarded. The player has good reasons to back the Institute. The SS is the goddamn Director and has the finger on all buttons. He can change the Institute. Well, not that the SS ever thought of that, apparently. The lunacy of a pre-made character in a cRPG.
I do like how Pesto is apparently psychic and immediately hates me when I give the Nuka World raiders a settlement in the wasteland. Apparently he really cared about the ghouls infesting that abandoned house... And he immediately knows that I did this, despite nothing actually happening yet.

Eh, only a few of Fallout 1's super mutants were actually dumb. But since Harry was one of the first mutants you see (and one of the few you actually talk to) he kinda shaped the image. But the Nightkin and all the elite mutants under the Cathedral were at least of normal human intelligence.

I found that the best way to sum up Bethesda's raiders is that they are S&M perverts running around a desert and blowing each other up.

Essentially Road Warrior inspired (or accurately, rip offs) lunatics.
