Why I left Reddit for NMA (new guy)

So can you upload a file on mobile here or not? Trying to upload the result of an ai image generators interpretation of the wird "fallout" but when I clxik to upload and tyen select the image it just brings me bacj with nithing uploaded. Sad.
Have you saved the image to your phone first? The AI site might forbid hot-linking.

Well you have to wait till Bethesda retcons and fucks with the stuff they like and care about.
I have seen unironic claims from Bethesda fans that Bethesda can change the lore all they want, the franchise is theirs. Meaning they are fine with Bethesda just changing the lore and internal consistency to fit whatever crap they want to go for in the next game.

Makes me question why people get invested in the lore (specially those Fallout youtubers making lore videos) if everything can be changed on a whim. If nothing is consistent, why bother caring? Whatever you think it's the current lore is just gonna change later, meaning you really don't need to be invested into the lore and continuity.

I feel like lore changes only work if only very few people in the world are aware of how something worls and that can create the idea that those people are unreliable narrators. But when something is shown to the player to only work in a way but then the next game just says fuck it and changes it anyway, that's bad.

Well if you don't save it, there will be no record of it; no way to —fix— it. Just look at the situation with dictionaries; or better yet, renaissance art.

Sure they can do that. Which isn't what I mean though. I don't give a crap about Bethesda. I just mean that people often say GET OVER IT OLDTIMER! Till it hits something they care about. Which is exactly what happend to some Fallout 3 fans when they played Fallout 4. You can talk about "Bethesda has rights!" all you want. But if they change something you like in to something you don't like ... well I am just saying that some people often have double standards in that regard because it's a great way to deflect criticism. How dare you criticise the company that makes stuff I enjoy right now while I don't care about why they do it! Get with the times grandpa!

You know what I mean.

It is pretty funny watching people using the "old man yelling at the cloud" to try to shut down arguments and then down the line they become the same. It's almost an inevitability, specially when you get older.

ai image generated from the word "Fallout".

Glad to have ya, I got run off that god-awful site last year when they started banning anyone that wouldn't tow the line. Hell, you didn't even have to be political, just had to disagree with bs like moderators permabanning people for saying stuff like "FO76 sucks". Reddit just devolved into a screeching echo chamber of weirdos at this point. Hope you have fun here, I'm fairly new myself but I've enjoyed reading the discussions I've seen here and I like how level-headed people have been even in arguments, or well as close as you'll get on the internet.

"nft"

This reminds me and I may have told you before (hopefully not) but there is the programmer/artist that has his own pattern generating algorithm he made. Used it for the recent reprint of the Sprawl series.
http://danielbrowns.com

I'd like to know how they make these. Apparently the Sprawl program used crystal patterns so I guess just mimic the math equations found in how natures grows? Seems hard, but I think I'm gonna try find a tutorial for it that can guide me. Probably using C language would be my guess.

Reddit is a cesspit of circlejerking and groupthink, which isn't really a surprise since the site actively encourages only posting the 'right' opinions. You did well to leave, I use it exclusively for shitposting myself.

The initial idea that upvoting relevant discussion and downvoting off topic bullshit sounds great until people use it as a disagree/agree button. Who could have guessed something like that would have been misused though. People on the internet don't use tools to piss each other off if they're told not to, never.

I want to downvote you just for the piss of it but alas all we have is an upvote button.

Well as a sort of "Downvote" button we could always use something like "Vats". So instead of + Rad you would give + Vats. Till the post gets dipped. And Mutates. And starts to talk about purity and unity.
