World Cup 2010 South Africa

Yet unfair.

Fouls and cards are made to players that do unacceptable acts during the game, not for accidents.
That wasn't an accident. He clearly sticks out his elbow. It's obvious there was intent there because he doesn't even flinch when Keita hits his elbow.

thats was one of the best games in the world cup so far, and you guys gotta to agree with me
Do I? It wasn't particularly exciting.

Exciting no, but Brazil played probably the best football we've seen so far. We've seen offensive dominance before, but they also defended well. They looked like the most complete team. So far.

When someone hits me in the heat of the game, I usually do the same thing: protect myself, with my elbow, arms, whatever. And if I'm concentrated in something else, then I probably don't really care for what hit me, so I'll not flinch.

Exactly. Brazil played beautifully, except for some times when it seemed that the the players were getting dizzy when they had the ball, but apart from that (relatively rare occurrence), everything went pretty fine.

Also, Drogba goal was well deserved, a well played attack by CDI offensive, in the middle of many amateurish offensives.

He's not hitting Kaka at all. He's walking toward Kaka. Kaka then sticks out his elbow, hitting Keita in the chest. That is worthy of a yellow card, simple as that.

Sure, Brazil played great. But the match was rather boring because Cote d'Ivoire couldn't get anything going.

So if I'm in the opponent's field while in game, and accidentally throw my chest into an opponent's elbow, do I deserve a penalty? I don't think so. You deserve his apologizing from your opponent, and thats all.

Really, I mean, what do you expected Kaka to do? Get hit by Keita?

They need to stamp this fake injury shit out of the game…simply make both players leave the field for 20 minutes. Obviously the African player was not hurt in any manner, and the Brazilian players force was weaker than a little girl…so they are both pathetic and both should be yellow carded and removed from the pitch for 20 minutes. The results would be players will stop jabbing their opponents, and the so called “beautiful game” can just roll on. I watched a bit of the England vs. Australia Ruby match…and those guys receive much worse attacks during a game, but they simply soak up the damage and continue on, of course it’s a different sport and requires a different body, but shit - soccer players are fucking pathetic…except Zinedine Zidane he’s cool. But he should have kicked the guy in the balls when he was on the ground to make his red card worth it. :ugly:

Maybe he did elbow him and if so, the card is deserved. From one angle it looked like he simply put his arm up because Keita was about to collide with him, more to brace the impact than anything else. That sequence was played in slow motion, so maybe that made me misjudge the situation.

Then again, it doesn't really matter since Brazil are through from the group and Kaka will be back for the next game that counts.

I expect him not to elbow people in the chest. It's not like Keita was about to bowl him over or something.

I think he should have elbowed him in the throat, and stamped his balls into the grass…that might be worthy of rolling around on the grass like a dying animal. This game sucks when this type of behavior is allowed to succeed – one bullshit strike and one bullshit injury – kick both of their sorry arses off the ground and fine them.

The only teams that seem to be worthy of a title in this WC so far are Argentina and brazil!

And btw, ENG vs ALG was probably the most embarrassing football match i have ever seen in my life! Good lord...that was some low quality football alright!

Wow, shameless dives, shitty refs, boring games, ties. It's like affirming every prejudice Americans have against watching soccer.

Lol. 7-0. Almost perfect football, great display, pretty and fun to watch. Way to go Portugal :D

I'm feeling more and more optimistic that we stand a chance against Brasil in four days time. It's gonna be a hell of a match!

Also, what exactly happened with Germany?! :\

Poor C. Ronaldo could only score with such a hilarious goal. Everyone in their team was scoring except him, and finally, the one he did was so funny.

He said to the Portuguese media that he wasn't worried about scoring goals, as long as the team did score goals. But you could see, later on in the game, that he was trying to get in position to score. He was shooting from afar, he was passing the ball a lot more, trying not to be the guy who assists... It was a good show by him, nonetheless, and he was the man of the match after all.

Nice diving from Chile today. Pretty lousy game overall, apart from a few attacks by Chile. Way too many interuptions and people bitching with/around the ref.

We learned from the Italians.

Seriously go to stupidvideos.com and watch the one dive by the Italian.

Good lord.

Anyways - they finally broke the Swiss defense. something that looked pretty much impossible.

"That's disgraceful really."

Yeah, that was pretty horrible acting.

Which one? The Chilean guy got a yellow for acting - I'm sure he deserved it too. I hope he gets his ass benched. As much as I'm a fan of the game - it is really irritating to see shit like that.

Anyways - Chile on top of their group = me celebrating tonight. It's going to be quite the games now for the final match since 3 teams can finish with 6 points.
