Your "WTF" moments in NV playthroughs

Humma Kavulaaaaaaa
In your firsts NV playthroughs do you remember your "WTF" moments or decisions you made?

One funny thing that happened to me is I didn't saw that fucking monument the first time I reached Mojave Outpost.
Yes, I passed right through it. I usually explore the location before entering some building, even if the location is friendly, so I first entered the bar, not the HQ. When Cass ask me about that fucking monument I thinked to myself "what the hell she is talking about?".
Then when I came outside and look the size of the thing I couldn't believe it and the my only reaction was facepalm myself. And then LOL for two minutes.

In my defense, it was night.

Or when I encoutered the BoS bunker in Hidden Valey, I was in the very beginning, level 8 or 9 I think and received the quest because of ED-E. It was only me and him, then that POS Paladin came crying orders and I thinked, "oh, this loosers from FO3, I'll show them". Not so fast Bozo, these are the fuckers from FO2 and the only thing I had with me was the reinforced leather armor, an upgraded Varmint rifle and the Weathered 10mm pistol (I was playing in hardcore). Oh yes, after a fews playthroughs you know where and how obtain advanced equipment, the various chems that can help you and so on, but this was my first playthrough in the game.
Needless to say, I was wiped out really fast. And I mean FAST!

This event also reminds me the first time in Stalker, when I tried to pass that military barrier at the fallen bridge close to Cordon by force, in the very beginning.
Teached me not to be a wise-ass anymore in the game.

And you people, do you have such moments too?

First time right after the start of the game, I was running up north of Goodsprings, to that big cross. Yeah, the signs said bad monsters around, but who the fuck gives a shit? Next thing I saw was a radscorpion and I thought it can't be that hard... Needed at least 5 reloads until I've managed it to run away from them...

After this, I thought I should listen to signs, at least in this game.

In my defense, it was night.

Isn't it lighted like a crhistmas tree at night, though?

Something similar happened to me the first time. I reach the cross and decide to keep heading west, towards Quarry Junction basically, when an adult Radscorpion appears. I start shooting at him and...his health bar barely goes down. Then he stabs me once with his tail and...BAM, 3/4 of my HPs are gone and the few points remaining are quickly drained by the poison.

I managed it on my past two playthroughs. It's doable, but requires great reflexes, good aim (headshots) and a pinch of luck.

My misadventures usually involve mines and other explosives. Like the ones at the bend behind Nipton. Oh look, what's under the traffic c--

*BOOM*

Probably my first encounter with Cazadores. Was around the general area between Novac and Boulder City, there's an area where you can see the Cazadores from the main highway.

Saw them zooming back and forth and thought that I have to try fighting them. Aimed a few shots their way, saw that I had gotten their attention and then... swoosh, it was all up in my face and had stabbed me to death within like 3 seconds, nearly giving me a heart attack in the process.

Playing Caravan for the first time (unpatched version).

"What the fuck am I supposed to do here?"

Actually in the first version sometimes the lights goes out, after the patches they were always on, but yes...welll...err....

Damned Carter, you have won again! :P

"Assume the position."
...no thanks...
"Assuming direct control." - my science skill finally pays off!

And then James asks what "abilities" does the robot posses.

EDIT:
Taken from The Vault:"After having sex with Fisto at the Atomic Wrangler you will not be able to use him again and will have only the declining option to choose. (Tested on PC) "

I wonder who was the tester

I've been exploring near the begining of the game (level 4 or so), and I've found an abandoned train station. Got into, got out, BAM! Deathclaw right in front of me :D

And I just LOVE Weird Wasteland trait. Romanus eunt domus! :D

My first courier was a female, so I tested him properly. But my male courier also tested him:

- This is all that you got, robot!

Fisto seemed a bit disappointed after this. :silly:

That dude who won the lottery in Nipton, i.e. the conversation with him had me going WTF. And the conversation with the Legion guy and watching him walking away got my panties all in a twist with impotent rage as I really, really, REALLY wanted to put a round through his skull but I knew I'd get slaughtered if I tried.

I settled that score later

I had a WTF moment the first time I played with wild wasteland on, after recruiting Fisto for the Atomic Wrangler I was greeted by three old ladies attacking me with rolling pins outside the robot factory.

Also, taking the 'Confirmed Bachelor' perk for the 10% bonus, then realizing what Confirmed Bachelor meant a couple hours later during dialogue with Arcade.

Mine was worse, I found a Giant Radscorpion just around Goodsprings cementery, Ihad a low AG chaarcter so there was no way in hell I would eb able to run away from it, so I had to reload my last autofile, after that I went in sneak mode back to the cementery.

Another WTF moment was during my first playthrough. I had selected Wild Wasteland and had avoided any kind of spoilers (I didn't read a forum in the meantime, just to be sure). So, I'm minding my own business in the quiet northern part of the map when all of a sudden three aliens attack me! I totally wasn't expecting that. :D

Yeah, we had this cartoon here in Brazil, altough because of the military dictatorship of 64-85 it was only available in late 80's.
The comic-strip is not well known, only a handfull of stories were printed, but the animated cartoon Super Gulp! was aired.

I miss this cartoon, I laughed my ass off, it was so funny (people can watch it on Youtube, BTW). The closest thing that resembles him is "Pinky and the Brain".
And don't ask me why, but this also remembered "Keen Eddie" a defunct series of Fox in wich an american police detective is working with the New Scotland Yard.
Gosh, seeing the clash of american and european culture was so funny and the stories weren't dumb and all drama, there was intelligence in the show.

Maybe this was the reason for the series been cancelled.

so the image of two dudes in bd aalong with the fact that the name of the perk is an euphemism for gay wasn't enough for you to understand what the perk was?

Excpet that not everyone in the world knows that that is an euphemism for gay. Still, it's clear enough, even just because it's the opposite of Lady Killer.
