Your "WTF" moments in NV playthroughs

Also the description says that you get special dialogue options with members of the same sex. I am not a native english speaker, and the moment I saw the perk I knew what it was about. Maybe some people need it to be called "You are a Faggy Gay" for them to get what it is about?

Also, taking the 'Confirmed Bachelor' perk for the 10% bonus, then realizing what Confirmed Bachelor meant a couple hours later during dialogue with Arcade.

so the image of two dudes in bd aalong with the fact that the name of the perk is an euphemism for gay wasn't enough for you to understand what the perk was?

I just saw him stabbing the guy. I didn't know it meant you were gay, I just thought it meant you were really good at killing men. It didn't register in my mind what the name and the picture meant until after I'd used it for dialogue.

It's still a pretty useful perk though.

Yeah, we had this cartoon here in Brazil, altough because of the military dictatorship of 64-85 it was only available in late 80's.
The comic-strip is not well known, only a handfull of stories were printed, but the animated cartoon Super Gulp! was aired.

I miss this cartoon, I laughed my ass off, it was so funny (people can watch it on Youtube, BTW). The closest thing that resembles him is "Pinky and the Brain".

And the last one closes the door, I'd say.

Actually still in my first play-through but my WTF moment.

The Ranger hanging out in Hidden Valley. I get into his campsite and rip him off. Then tell him he should get out because the powder gangers are around, go back to finish ripping him off, and the SOB leaves a grenade trap for me. Here I think I am about to loot his goods and next thing I know by body is being decapitated.

Last funny moment was with Mrs. Gibson and I need to replay this to make sure it actually happened. After buying the Reys brain from he for Rex. Did she say something like, "Hey Reyes, Mommy has got something for ya..." then an audible whack and you got a new brain in the inventory.

Yes, that actually happens :D

To tell the truth, I didn't really noticed it the first time I saw this perk. I thought "hell, more male damage, cool", and didn't get the message.

Then I started getting these weird dialogue options like:

"Come on Manny, I know what I man like you likes..."
with my reaction being
"uhhhh......"

Then I took Lady Killer just to balance that haha

Every once in a while I get a message at the top of the screen like "..." and the game makes a creepy noise like ooOOeeOO.

Does anybody know what that's about?
btw, I always have wild wasteland on.

Well, that's because of the Wild Wasteland perk.
It means something "wild" has happened, or is happening around you.
Look around next time. You may have already missed lots of interesting things.

Ok, thanks. last time it happened as I was walking up to a door-less fridge laying face-up in the middle of the mojave with human bones in it and a nice looking "suave gambler's hat" in it.

Other times, it happens and i look around and see nothing. Then when I go to the Alien crash site (which is only with the wild wasteland trait) it does not happen.

So, i was a little confused. thanks again.

edit: I guess it only happens when random "wild" things are happening, not pre-determined "wild" things, like the aliens and the nightkin who tries to sell you tumbleweed.

This has been the Indiana Jones easteregg.

Actually I get that noise too, and I don't have the weird wasteland. I was thinking it was the ghost of dead khans haunting me for all the graves I dug up.

Funny you should say that, i also think it is caused when a ghost is near. The face that is shown next to the "..." message is of a scared pip-boy face. And it usually happens in places that are creepy and there is absolutely no one else around.

Wow, that's new. I know I sometimes hear sounds that resemble whispering when I am near graves, but nothing more.

It would be delightful if Boone and the intelligence to play that practical joke.

I suspect that some of the programmers were thinking of "The Others" from Lost for the graveyard moments.

But that strange moaning.... fucked up. I just had some of that Hidden Valley.

Love that dust storm in the night at Hidden Valley.

He appears even if you don't have WW. Which reminds me, that was another WTF moment. I came across the farm, looked around the place, went into the building, came out, not a soul in sight. So I turn to leave and this fucker appears out of nowhere right in front of me and nearly gives me a heart attack. I jumped in my chair IRL.

That happened to me too once, was yours during night too? Cause that doubled the effect :(

Yea the wind noise in the Hidden Valley is really weird, guess it has some funky air currents in the area caused by the fans.

Not really a WTF but definitely a very funny moment.

At some point when I was at the kitchen of the Ultra Luxe I had to get rid of Philippe.
There are several ways to do this but I decided to do the 'fun' routine, by psychologically analyzing him.

At first he asked me why I was spouting this psychological crap before breaking down and telling me all about his twisted childhood and what made him yell to people.

Never during that moment I could stop smiling.

You just reminded me of a WTF moment I had in the Ultra-Luxe. I was talking to Mortimer and found out that I could let them serve Arcade as their main course. :puke:

Edit: Of course I had to try it just to see if it would work. :P
