Your "WTF" moments in NV playthroughs

Heh, mine too. But I think it feels good as an LMG with a scope. That's what it is, after all. It would've been awesome had they actually implemented it as a sniper rifle with full auto, but I'm not sure how well that would work considering the low crit rates and damage of automatic weapons.

The bozar being a machine gun was initially just an oversight in FO2 AFAIK

Indeed, but it was loved for its full automatic fire at a ridiculous range. I think they did the right thing making it an LMG in NV, seeing as how we already had the AMR for crazy sniping and most of the guns are based on real-world stuff.

Either way, I think that the Bozar in NV feels very good to fire.

Btw, it's not really a machine gun in FO2 despite the error they made. The description still says it's a sniper rifle so I have always considered it an over-the-top sniper rifle.

Slow firering automatic sniper with some heavy rounds would be nice... But the thing we got in NV was not interessting in any way but the name :P

Fight with mutants at black mountain.
it was fierceful fight.
me, ED-E and Boone did our best.
I didn't expect mutants and ED-E die suddenly
all of sudden ED-E dies and some of mutants too.
I didn't noticed who done it.
I looked back
then

A Deathclaw slaughters mutants and charge into me.

...............help!

Wow! In all my plays I've never had a deathclaw wandering up to Black Mountain. Definitely a "WTF" moment.

For me the Deathclaw spawned when I fast traveled to Neil's Shack. I was taking on Black Mountain while being very under leveled and having a challenge, but then the Deathclaw one shot me and my companions.

I've had a couple of wtf moments in my time of playing fallout games.

In fallout new vegas I entered Sloan, this was just after I had cleaned out primm so I wasn't that developed yet.

I sneak around in there trying to find a nice spot for assasinating snuffles, only for fun of course it wasn't anything I was gonna save Iwas just fooling about.

Then it says "danger" and I am like "wtf why?" and it keeps to say caution while I keep sneaking around. then when I'm closer to the road the deathclaw alpha male suddenly storms alongside the road and into Sloan and slays everything in a matter of seconds, all the workers, snuffles, ed-e and that guy that runs the place.

I hid behind the rock at the entry while he slowly went around it looking for me, I got two shots at his face with my sturdy caravan shotgun before I became deathclaw snack.

The first time playing Fallout 3 and entering the first town with the schoolhouse. gets around the corner..

RAIDERASSHOLE: I want his fucking head on a plate!

ME: What the fuck?! Then I killed one and ran for my life. :)

And the first time I met a super mutant after I crossed the bridge in fallout 3 and he likes jumps down from somewhere and stand pretty much on my face and I'm thinking: "Shit I'm so dead, but i ain't going down without a fight" so I pull out my flame thrower and burns the shit out of that green mother fucker while screming in utter horror in front of my screen.
I
got really surpised when he died so easily and i survived without a scratch. But then i ran as hell beacuse his pals were firing at me from above.

And the first time i met that giant super mutant behemoth in super mutant territory in fallout 3.

One really creepy wtf moment happened in new vegas in vault 3 I think it was, the one in the strip, I went on a murdering streek with my grenade launcher down there and blew everyone to pieces. Then when I walked around looking for more people to kill I see four guys in a room and sends in some grenades killing them all. Then when I enter it's like 15 bodies in there... it turns out it was everyone I killed so far in the vault somehow teleported to that room. Scary...

Why would you do that?
poor snuffle...
he injured his leg!

if you have perk name power slam and have an ax(you can get it at north of Good spring.) you can kill deathclaw alpha even you are low level. actually I did it.

Yes i know, it's so evil and i really care for poor Snuffles... but the twisted feelings of killing something that's so adorable is something yeah weird... i never like dit i just you know liked the feeling. :P

In fallout 3 I hade the animal friend perk so animals idn't attack me, in one old metro station out in the waste i found a pack of cute Molerats... i killed them all with some dirty iron pipe or something after I hade been looking how they digged with their little feet in the floor and stood up on their back legs looking around. Then i got depressed for a week and didn't play fallout for two more weeks beacuse of the horrific slaughter.

And everything for a few pieces of skina and meat worth a few useless caps... i hated myself so mutch after that that i never unjustly killed an animal again in any fallout game.

WTF moment!

As stupid as this sounds, it was definitely the moment in which I found out that Mr House only had the two robot sex slaves...

No but seriously, that moment when I found out that Mr House was actually some weird rotting almost-human made me doubt everything I had done in the game so far. I had gone through the game thinking that the medical skill was not really important (I mean, gecko meat is everywhere!). After playing FO3 I guessed that this was just another robot character in which the FO3 seemed to be infatuated and obsessed with. But when I found out that Mr House was something else, that definitely impressed me more than anything :) Mr House for some reason is still one of my favorite characters, not that I agree with his opinion on the Brotherhood of Steel. But there is something about a clean-cut zombie millionaire with a robot army that makes me...not want to shoot him.

Plus it introduced a way in which even the great Mr House could vulnerable, which I found amusing following his egotistical dialogue in which he states that 'we are the important ones'.
Either way, I thought it deserved a giggle, I had no idea. Although Fisto does deserve some credit)

I think his body can't endure more then 2...

First playthrough was shortly after 3, I prepare for a new hiking simulator, equipping my suit and hopping around like in the last game looking for super mutants to slaughter with my 10mm. Seen a radscorpion and was like, WTF giant radscorpions don't start existing until lvl 16! Oh well, easy exp for me, shot it a couple of time and died.

Started hopping around some more and got killed by Cazadores.

Decided to do the main quest first and get a little more decked out. Went down the Quarry junction path and seen deathclaws, I remembered killing them at lvl 1 to get the endurance bobblehead on FO3, I shot at them and they killed me, went on very easy, shot at them, they killed me again.

Tried killing super mutants at black mountain and got my ass handed to me.

At this point is was crystal clear that this game was no cakewalk and definitely not Fallout 3, I played smart and strategically from then on out, and had a blast.(Ended up digressing pretty bad, lol.. So to answer the actual question, my first WTF moment was finding like, 20 GIANT rad-scorpions right outside the starting town.)

Also, taking the 'Confirmed Bachelor' perk for the 10% bonus, then realizing what Confirmed Bachelor meant a couple hours later during dialogue with Arcade.

the fact that the name of the perk is an euphemism for gay

I learned something today lol.

My wtf moment was [spoiler:86a1418296]suicide of Chief Hanlon. Immedietaly after he closed the door I knew what was going to happen, and I listened to his speech horrified.[/spoiler:86a1418296]
I was a little relieved when there was no mention of that in ending slides. Probably a bug, but I'd rather believe, that it was because my courier managed to cover it up somehow :)

Well, this is my WTF for today. And it really pisses me off.

Now, it shouldn't matter and really in a way it doesn't but...

I first played the PS3 version. Got all my achievement, Platinum too.

So, no longer having the PS3, I've been playing the Steam version on my laptop. Got everything except the hardcore achievement. Which I almost had tonight.

Right before the final battle... crash. Ok fine. Start up the game again. Click "Continue". Click "Yes" FREEZE.

Task manager. End process. Try again. Same thing. Notice several hours game time missing in Steam. Reboot. Hours now back. Try to load. Freeze on "Yes" again. Try loading an earlier save. Freeze. I'm not even making it to the eternal spinning wheel load screen. I'm fucking freezing by clicking "Yes" on any save. Check other options on the menu screen to see if it freezes no matter what I select. Nope. All good except... I notice "Hardcore" is now listed as "Off" and greyed out. GRR!

So, verify the integrity of blah blah. Finds a file. DLs it. Problem not solved. Try the "start a new game and an old save from within the new game"fix. Freeze on "Yes" again.

Ah well. It's just an achievement but still. Pisses me off right at the bloody end.

Slow firing? Or decreased ROF? As I understand in this case, your option is to go with Accuracy International AS50 SEMI-AUTOMATIC (not bolt action like PGM Hecate 2). The estimated time to fire 5 rounds (entire magazine of .50MG rounds is less than .5 seconds (nobody can pull the trigger that fast). Maximum range is within 2000m. Great weapon for dilivering devestating shots. Weights less than PGM Hecate 2. Let's hope they won't be adding any SUPER DUPER sniper rifles in the future game. That would totally ruin it.. AMR (PGM Hecate 2) is fine because it is believeable that they have the means to manufacture it. Not a super weapon like a light .50 cal or an AS50..

Me and my friend were once playing together. We enjoyed messing around with Easy Pete, due to his funny way of speaking (and inherent badassery). We spawned him in the console, gave him Avengers, Fat Men, etc. We didn't yet know of the 'Easy Pete migration bug', however.

This is a bug that cause Easy Pete to migrate to Black Mountain. After me and my friend had finished messing around, we forgot to delete the other Easy Petes. You can imagine my surprise when I went to Black Mountain, discovered a pile of dead Easy Petes, and saw the remaining Easy Petes engaging Nightkin with miniguns.
