Your "WTF" moments in NV playthroughs

The Dutch Ghost said:
BTW not the first time something with him happened, in another gaming session after he gave me the radio he ran into a skirmish between NCR troopers and Fiends near McCarran and got himself vaporized.

When I ran into him, I decided to follow him to see where he goes. He did get wounded by some fiends near Camp McCarran, but managed to limp the rest of the way to Camp McCarran. Then he goes in the door and I followed him in, but he vanished!

A similar thing happened at the Brotherhood of Steel Safe House - I went inside and met Paladin Sato. I had him repair all my stuff, and I wanted to kill him to get my 12,000 caps back, but as soon as I exited the conversation menu, he stepped through the door to go outside. I went out the door right after him, but he was gone!
WTF!

I was doing a legion playthrough, and I've got to say that Ceaser's as believeable as a saturday morning cartoon villian.

I mean, jeesh, Little Ceaser is more 3-dimentional as a character.

I thought Caesar was the most believable of all the legionaries (except that guy at the Fort that can teach you the unarmed move). At least he didn't seem pure evil.

Seeing random Giant Radscorpions partially pop out of the ground in inappropriate places is not a fun experience at two in the morning.

speaking of Giant Radscorpions, I turned a corner near Camp Guardian and there's 2 Giant radscopions -- I had my bumper sword equipped, so I just went with it -- but got killed. Luckily I had just saved, and before turning that same corner again, I equip my best weapon, pop some med-X and get ready for some revenge. I turn the corner... and it's 2 regular radscorpions that die in 2 seconds
-_-

Also, I just went in North Vegas Square for the first time yesterday. Is that place completely pointless? There's only one building with a door (The Gray) and there's absolutely nothing in there!

I talked to a guy named Jules who has a few speech challenges. First you need guns at 50, then survival at 60, then I dont know what. Anybody know what happens if you pass his survival speech check? I never raise my survival up that much, and don't really want to if right after that he gives me a Barter at 70 speech challenge.

There is another named NPC in the North Vegas square who starts a small series of quests. Can't recall his name at the moment.

My moment is not really quest or gameplay related, but here goes.

When i returned from a lenghty haul of looting&exploring i entered the strip and was sunk in thoughts about what to do next and such.
Suddenly a Brahmin storms past me and vanishes through the next gate on the strip.
I actually flinched there, due to me being sunk in my thoughts and the walk to the Lucky 38 has become kind of mechanic/no-brain action for me.
Damn Brahmin scared me, i wonder how it got past the securitons??
Oh, and it just vanished after passing the gate.
I followed it, half set on shooting at it, but alas it was gone.

Seeing as it ran into my view from behind or my blind spot,
it was probably a Brahmin assassin, but chickend out in the end.
Still, how did a Brahmin end up on the strip??

So ive offically found my WTF moment in terms of the world of NV.
Ive just explored Vault 11 and the programm/story behind it...
I wont say anything to not spoil it for others..but...WTF???
Seriously, one of the most WTF Vault programs thus far in the Fallout line.
Go there if you have not already, youll see.

I was just wandering around Vegas, finding places to fast travel to for the next DLCs, when I fin H&H Tools. Having seen it in a lot of the loading screens, I went in. My radio was on full blast, and I strutted in there like a bad ass level 35 with a .44 would. I saw some trip mines, and walked up to them and got to disarming them when..
*BZZZSCH*
...A rogue Mr. Handy barely misses my face with his saw blade and proceeds to scare me into emptying all six bullets in his direction.

Had a really weird glitch last night with Raul. I had just rescued him from Black Mountain and killed Tabitha, then I went into her 2nd floor room to get some extra ammo.

Upon exiting the door, Raul's head was missing... but not completely! He still had eyes floating in mid-air! And a brownish-red cylinder where his throat would be. And even stranger: when I engaged him in conversation, instead of the camera zooming in to his face, it zoomed in the direction of his feet... and kept going down and down forever!! The conversation was normal, except the background behind the dialogue box was a yellow-ish color, and when it ended the camera angle went back to normal.

So, I just started a new playthrough as a BOS paladin. Just my luck, the goodsprings store had a plasma pistol! Every time I'd go there, it'd never have any energy weapons or cells. It was this one time on an energy weapons centric character.

But that's not the big thing. I was fighting bighorners and I was standing beside a rock. A bighorner bucked me....and I flew 50 feet in the air and died on impact.

Not really unintentional, but I installed a mod named More Perks, and it has a trait that makes you a target of a group of mercenaries. I was like, cool, nice way to roleplay and make it so a character's past bites him/her.

Yeah right. In reality, what it does is spawn, every time you sleep outside or fast-travel, a group of impossibly tough guys right on top of you. Once I got jumped, at level 5, with a plasma pistol as my best weapon, by 3 guys with about 700 HPs each, all with combat armor MK 2 and one of them had a friggin minigun. I died in 2 seconds, tops, and there was no possible way to win the fight other than god mode. After trying to worm my way out of the situation I promptly deleted this horribly designed trait. I hoped it would be level-scaled, but nope, this would have maybe my life impossible until I got Power Armor. The rest of the mod is decent, however.

One of the "WTF?" moments I recently had, was a glitch that would transform my companions to death machines. I don't know what causes this, but everytime Cass shoots at something, it dies with one shot, it also plays the alien pistol death animation. :|

I was very "wtf" when Hanlon told his story about the small town called Rattletail. It was just so wtf.

Yep, they have very powerful loot, even the weakest ones have Assault Carbines and the like, but good luck killing them at lower levels, and let's not even talk of their impossibly powerful friends who have too much DT for any weapon you could possibly own at this point without outright cheating. Oh, and did I mention that, every time, their leaders talks to you with the horrible, horrible voice of the Talon Company mercs in Fallout 3? Even had the trait been balanced, the sheer annoyance of hearing this guy call me ''the little saint from the Vault'' would have been enough to ditch it.
