That's exactly the kind of attitude that gave you Trump and us the AfD and a rising right wing. The left wing was supposed to be there for the "little man", but even when they go "centrist" the reality is that a lot of what they did was identity politics for the tiniest minority groups. That pissed off a lot of their voter base, and they looked for someone who at least pretended to speak for them. In Germany we have a government that is supposed to be a coalition between the center-right party and the center-left party, so they should cover all the bases. However, the actual politics is now rather weird: You have social politics that are very left wing, with fiscal politics that are quite right wing. So doubly bad for the middle class, because they get stomped on socially and fiscally. Whom to turn to? Everyone else is even worse fiscally liberal or socially liberal. So they turn to "alternatives", because they are at least pretending to not shit on them.
So people started to be not satisfied with the situation. More and more people in partial, unsatisfying work, getting pissed on by state systems with no way out. The extra-parliamentary left wing, academia, media and so on? Pisses on them even more, calling everyone a Nazi and trying to stomp out every dissenting opinion. The general left went low right from the start and didn't even try to talk to the middle and lower class, and just defined that extreme minority groups are the only lower class people are allowed to care about. No wonder people like Trump and the Alt Right got powerful.
The Left needs to get its shit together and get rid of the IdPol fanatics because they're poison for any attempt at dialogue.

One of the most controversial things about that was it basically made the conflict between the Crips and the Bloods into a great source of people to murder or a conflict to engage in from behind the scenes. Real black kids dying at the hands of other black kids because the money from drugs as well as cycle of vengeance had destroyed the lives of hundreds of people.

Essentially, the Stupid Rich White Lady comment of the super-predators is the fact Hillary didn't realize the ENVIRONMENT was the problem. The poverty, the fear, and the anger. That the people who were gunned down were kids themselves as often as not and very often killing people in revenge for the deaths of others. It took a national tragedy and made it about the white people around the people actualkly dying in the streets.

For an America which thinks the War on Drugs is stupid political theater and fueled by poverty as the pharmaseutical indsutry, it showed a shocking degree of ignorance. The solution to violence in America's inner city is not to arrest all the criminals and lock them away for life (which is what her husband tried to do with his dramatic increase of drug sentences as well as three strikes rule). It's not even removing guns.
