Automatron dlc looks completely boring

And MrMattyPlays made an analysis:

He finds no new information, doesn't make any keen observations and, overall just wastes everyone's time. That said he'll probably rake in upwards of a thousand dollars from ad revenue from this video alone and that makes me sad.

I looked at the trailers for the DLC for both 3 and New Vegas, and they kept somewhat interesting.
Even Mothership Zeta, a DLC which most of us find horrendous, at least had an interesting trailer.

I think the best DLC to compare Automatron to is Old World Blue's, which had a great sense of humour and that classic B Movie feel.
If Automatron had that 50's B Movie feel, it may have seemed a lot interesting.
But hey, the DLC itself was the most interesting out of all the 3 so who knows?
(It's sad when the best DLC was essentially someone else's mod).

That's not to say I'm not looking forward to the 3rd piece (whatever the hell you call it).
That also looks interesting, but this is Bethesda, they will find a way to ruin it.

I still find it odd there are people making more money than doctors or other high-skilled jobs for recording videos of themselves yelling at videogames like an idiot and posting it to YouTube.

The only thing that might give this DLC some relevance with the base game is, if you wear the Silver Shroud costume while doing the questline, you get unique interactions with characters, considering the Mechanist is supposed to be an SS villain.

Oh who am I kidding, they barely did Silver Shroud related stuff for the Silver Shroud quest.

It looks okay, but it shouldn't be 10 dollars. Hell, it shouldn't even be DLC. This right here should be a free patch as an apology to people who preordered this game thinking we were getting something fantastic. Hell, the whole Season Pass should've been given out for free after this disaster was released. Instead, not only do they keep the price the same, they up it to 60 just because they're adding 1 or 2 more mini DLCs to it. 60 dollars. For a goddamn season pass. They realize that's the same price as the base game right? You just can't fix stupid.

YouTube has ads?

There are some people out there that get money simply for masturbating on a camera. Supply and demand, resources and budget.

$7-12 million dollars per year for yelling at Goat Simulator really shouldn't be a thing. I understand why it's a thing, but it's just more evidence we are heading towards Idiocracy.

On the flip side, I appreciate the fact that YouTube has provided a venue for anyone to create content as it means our entertainment options are much greater. So for me this whole system isn't all bad - it has it's benefits and I'm glad it exists. I just don't know if $8,000,000 is an appropriate yearly income for someone who yells at a virtual Goat. Again, I understand why that happens, but if I saw someone driving a McLaren or Ferrari and they told me they play Goat Simulator professionally, I would still be confused.

In short, I appreciate that there is this system for literally ANYONE to create content and entertainment. I still turn my head at some of these yearly income figures though.

I bought the Season Pass when it was cheaper and I still feel ripped off.

If the next DLC is a big one, I wouldn't mind.
But considering the DLC for 3 and New Vegas, disappointing is an understatement.

Life ain't fair, some people are just lucky. The guy who yells at goats is just that, lucky. Right time at the right place and produced just the right videos to gain a massive following. If you're talking about PewDiePie then at least he donates a bunch of money to charity IIRC.

The next DLC isn't big. We're having to wait a whole month after this one here to get the next one, Wasteland Workshop. Which, from the sound of it, is just another slap in the face. "Oh, you wanted an arena in the game? You want us to make Combat Zone a functioning questline? Too fucking bad. Make your own. *proceeds to throw poorly drawn schematics on how to craft an arena at us along with cages we can apparently trap things in*" Just seems lazy. I'm sure some people will like the idea of being able to make our own arena but considering how fucking broken settlement building is in the base game I have 0 hope for making any sort of decent looking arena myself.

After that we have to wait till May to get Fart Harbor. Who knows how long it'll be till the next DLCs that are "supposedly" coming out?

Come on, it's typical Bethesda BS. It's development started after Dragonborn DLC. This game got 3 years of development at best.
There was an article where Todd stated that the T-60 power armor model was finalized in 2010. They had been working on F4, even though it was in pre-production, while Obsidian was still working on FNV.

He considers few guy working on art as development. I don't underestimate the importance of art work but they didn't dedicated any real work force until 2 months later from Dragonborn's release.

And you believe Todd's word? I mean Todd Howard....

That they had artists doing work suggests that they probably were thinking about setting and story ideas while they focused on Skyrim, though how much to warrant what you consider development, we don't know.

He also said that Istvan was the one in charge of the T-60 design, and the guy is supposedly lead artist, so yeah, I believe him on this occasion.

I bet they spent weeks alone working on the Gen 3 synth creation process, which itself was great though.

Well here's some pictures and spoilers from someone at 4chan who broke the NDA and this is the resulting screens:

"Rust Devil Raiders"? Yet again another shitty pointless faction just like every other faction in the game. Oh and raiders no less!

More building shit, jeez. I don't know why they even bothered with any kind of story in this shit show, they should have just released a minecraft style world along side modding tools and called a fucking day.
