Automatron dlc looks completely boring

Not surprised. It's more of the same problem. Because they don't see a problem with Fallout 4 to begin with.

The top comment in the trailer for this DLC really says all you need to know - people are gobbling this garbage right up like idiots.

I hate to be the "stop liking what I don't like" guy, but seriously: stop liking garbage so developers decide to make smarter games instead of treating all gamers like children with a low attention span.

Well here's some pictures and spoilers from someone at 4chan who broke the NDA and this is the resulting screens:

"Rust Devil Raiders"? Yet again another shitty pointless faction just like every other faction in the game. Oh and raiders no less!
Interesting name for the copyright holder of the...
Automatron Pipboy game [bottom image]: (C) 2072 Planned Diversion Programming
Very NWOish ;)

does anyone know if the dlc adds new areas of land bc that's the thing that gets me why would I ever go back to this game to kill more enemies i don't really get why people are so excited to just kill more enemies if thr was a new piece of land or something id see a reason to check it out

Probably just four or five new buildings, and yes, just killing more enemies. Also, robot customisation. Basically more of the same, plus ripping off mods for the last game.

If the guy who broke his NDA on 4chan is any sign then there'll be no new landmass, just a secret bunker another bandit hideout to be cleared that'll be added to the already existing map.

People still keep to NDAs? I mean, yeah, lawsuits and all, but it's fairly easy to cover up your tracks on the Internet nowadays. Personally, I wouldn't take the risk, but no one else on the Internet seems to give any fucks about legal risks.

What's up with Bethesda making characters with an absurd attachment to comic books? Is it too hard to actually make an interesting villain with a realistic motivation?

I find the idea interesting, however it probably won't be well executed. I mean think about it, today comic books are considered modern mythology. What if in the Fallout universe they're literal mythology? People believing and worshiping them like Greeks did with their gods? Or maybe they look at it like we do with Greek mythology? Mistakenly interpreting those comic book characters as gods the Pre-War world worshiped.

Thing is Greeks probably didn't believed in those "characters" like modern religions believe in their gods. There some very silly plays from ancient Greek, close to "Hercules meets Hydra again, this time its personal!1!!1". in context.

They're very close to comic book heroes since they're idealised humans and take a big part in entertainment.

However, bethesda touching subjects like this? I don't think so.

The comic book/Greek god comparison makes me want to see a good dose of Hero-worship in a future Fallout game, maybe that could be the next "Wacky" quest in an Obsidian Fallout game.

Thing is comic book or movie heroes gave much about ideals of this era. Greek heroes are piece shits for todays standarts and maybe in the future our concept of hero will be considered as hypocrisy. So through comic heroes Bethesda can depict pre-war society. Actualy Bethesda doing it more or less right wheter they're aware of what they're doing or not it's up to debate.
