Bethesda's Lore Recons

Vault 69 would have turned into a rape culture.
I'm pretty sure the guy will be stripped on a chair and will only become breeding sow for the women.
Er.... So... I take it that the people in the Fallout universe never figured out how to take sperm samples and how to artificially inseminate? Cause otherwise, imagine if one of the women had an STD? I'm more worried about the opposite vault with 1000 men and 1 woman.

Oh that's WAY worse.

It actually is. A population with just a few men and a lot of females can survive without any problems. Now take away 50% of the females from a population, and you run in to serious trouble. Biologically speaking, females are more important for survival. For now >_>

Wouldn't there be an issue with DNA diversity if there was only a single man donating the sperm in the beginning?

I think it's less problematic due to the lower amount of genes on the Y chromosome. Unless the man has a massive defect on his Y chromosomes it could be fine.

We have to talk about a substantial number in men of course, 100 females and 1 man are most probably not going to work well in the long run. But for a population of 100 males and 100 females it is much worse if they lose 50% of the females compared to the males. I don't know how high the population has to be to keep a healthy gene pool in the long run and making sure the community isn't dieing out though. If the numbers are large enough it doesn't really matter that much, but there is a breaking point for everything, and it is much lower with females compared to males.

Either way that vault's survivors would be really inbred by the time the vault opened.

Where do you think the Hillfolk in Point Lookout came from?

T-60 power armor being better than T51-B even though it has been stated that T51-b was the height of American Power armor

then again one could argue that T-60 was A national Guard retrofit of T-45

The real issue with the 999 of one, 1 of the other Vaults is that they aren't good experiments since we pretty much know what would happen. The Vault with 1 woman would be empty within a generation, and the Vault with 1 man would return to normal after a single generation (you'd have to keep track of who your mom and grandmother are, but half of the children of those 999 women are going to be male.)

Yeah it's kind of obvious... but fun to watch... I mean...

Apparently there are "female" Mr Handies, despite Handies being robotic orbs with eyes, and thus genderless.... They are called Mrs Nanies.
