Bethesda's Lore Recons

Compared to Fallout 3's setting? It's interesting. An actual working and functional region instead of just an empty wasteland of clowns building towns around nukes and people dressed as super heroes.

An actual working and functional region
Were did you get the idea that Ronto would be anything like that?

Why would it be when literally nowhere outside of the NCR has been shown to be like that?

Even NV talked about how most of America was just spear chucking tribal groups.

Ashur mentions them as a powerfull enough location with significant military power which implies some form of stability. They weren't called just "the Toronto Wasteland", they had a name, like the NCR.

Uhh. I think you should go back and re-listen to what Ashur says

http://fallout.gamepedia.com/Ishmael_Ashur
"Where others merely survive, we thrive! Our industry is the envy of the Commonwealth! Our safety is the envy of the Capital Wastes! Our might is the envy of Ronto! And while I have led your efforts, it has been by your own strength that you have earned all of the envy of the world. They envy the steel shaped by the workers in our mills, and they envy the strength of our traders and raiders who wield that steel for The Pitt. And most of all, they envy our victories in the struggle for freedom. Because, yes, freedom is what we all work towards."

He is talking about what each city LACKS
-D.C. lacks safety
-The Commonwealth lacks industry
-Ronto lacks might
That is why each one of them is supposed to be envious of The Pitt, The Pitt supposedly has what each lacks. He even says those other places only survive while The Pitt thrives.

Its even mentioned by one of the slaves that they take slaves from Ronto, along with Erie, and D.C., frequently enough for him to ask if that is where you are from. It Ronto was such a great power, how could they not keep Ashur and his salvers at bay?

I honestly don't see how you could confuse something so simple.

You are right, I confused Fallout 3 for a good game with interesting ideas. In my defense, I haven't played it for years and I mostly scrubbed it from my brain. Seems like I didn't miss much from doing so.

Just like the Commonwealth, htey're just going to make it a wasteland with 12 people making up the actual city of Ronto

Did someone mention the incredible amount of robots that could easily pass a Turing-test?
I always thought robots (except for maybe Brainbots) were supposed to be equipped with rudimentary personality simulations, while actual AIs were massive mainframe computers.
Now every Mr. Handy or Ms. Nanny is more or less self-aware (especially if they speak with a french accent...), and even combat robots have more than enough processing power for independent thought processes.
Only Protectrons are still what they used to be.

So apart from the fact that one looks more human than the other, is there any difference between the AI in the Mr Handy's and the AI in the androids? Do the Railroad protect all robots or just androids?

How does John Henry Eden fit into all this?

Yeah, someone on the writting team seems to have missed the memo on Robots in Fallout not having AI unless they were interfaces for giant ZAX computers or connected to the massive network of a technological genius. Seriously, the Nurse Nanny in Diam City's schoolhouse is actually IN LOVE with the teacher and they can even marry..... remember when Fallout New Vegas mocked the idea of wanting to fuck a robot?

But... She's so gentle, if a bit metallic!

This is a different target audience Bethesda is catering to. The kind that want fuckable companions, killing things while LARPING to 80s music. A walking glorified fleshlight? Why not?
Stopping it from crashing was one of my biggest hurdles. Still is.

Not so much a problem for me, my problem was to keep on playing.
Same here along with trying to get the game from covering a select few pixels in the upper left corner of my monitor to full screen. Why was it harder to configure and setup Fallout 4 without fuss and crashes than any older Bethesda game this time around?

AI seems to be everywhere, and it reminds me of Mass Effect to be honest.
