BioShock Infinite

What's with the cartoonish style?

Looks like a good idea tho. BioShock 2 was way too derivative, the "franchise" needed some freshening up. Even stylistic changes are well enough, plus extra steampunk why not.

Wonder if they'll renew the gameplay any? Prolly not.

I'm confused... Not sure why it's carrying the Bioshock name, seeing as it's got absolutely nothing to do with the first two games (unless they cook up some crappy connection, making this a prequel).

Also, Bioshock story was quite cool and semi-believable (in a Jules Verne kind of way)... This seems a lot more fairytaleish (it's a cartoon, I dare say).

Video looks really sick, and the game probably will be as well. Should be a game of its own, however, not using the Bioshock name.

That was...unexpected.

Apparently, it takes place in or around 1912.

I like the steampunk design so far...but I'm not sure why this is called Bioshock and whether I want it to be linked in some stupid way to the two first games.

BioShock Infinite is a first-person shooter currently in development at Irrational Games, the studio behind the original BioShock (which sold over 4 million units worldwide). Set in 1912, BioShock Infinite introduces an entirely new narrative and gameplay experience that lifts players out of the familiar confines of Rapture and rockets them to Columbia, an immense city in the sky.
Former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt has been sent to rescue Elizabeth, a young woman imprisoned in Columbia since childhood. Booker develops a relationship with Elizabeth, augmenting his abilities with hers so the pair may escape from a city that is literally falling from the sky. DeWitt must learn to fight foes in high-speed Sky-Line battles, engage in combat both indoors and amongst the clouds, and harness the power of dozens of new weapons and abilities

I would've called it SteamShock.

But it looks like it could be fun.

Provided that they allow us to drop enemies over the sides of the city, I will be a very happy camper (I get some sort of weird thrill from dropping my enemies long distances).

Damn, I like it. I am playing BioShock 2 right now, because I could buy it for 10 bucks at amazon.de (hah, the special edition... it was 40 euro cheaper than the normal game. Guess they wanted to get it out of their warehouses.) but so far, BioShock 2 is more generical meh. I enjoyed the first game much more.

This sky-theme looks fresh and interesting to me.

I have no problem with this beeing called BioShock, as the name itself was never about the underwater city or setting, but biopunk / body modifications.

I could not care less about Bioschmock.

I want my Systemschock 3 finally ... but chance is that will never happen.

I'd honestly rather not.

I think EA owns the rights. You know how bad it could turn out.

yes of course I agree with that. Hence why I sad the chance is almost impossible to see that ever happen cause a Systemschock 3 would have to be not just a sequel in the name only but also a spiritual successor.

I guess Bioshock series is going to be about different crazy cities, with hopefully completely independent stories, rather than Rapture and the underwater drama.

I like it better this way. I never played Bioshock 2 but I thought Bioshock 1 really worked on its own and should have been left alone.

This one seems like a more proper sequel.

BTW, is anyone else somewhat reminded of the Fable 3 trailer by this one?

Bioshock 1 was lame (I'll take my System Shock 2 straight up please), and I didn't bother with part 2.

However, I love airships (one of the reasons I love FF games) and this has me intrigued.

BTW the video fails at first-person view. While hanging from the ripped flap of the floating zeppelin thingy, his head does a full 360 rotation. Bugged me.

Video game tend to the have the subtlety of throwing a dog into someone's eye.

That being said, it's basically the same thing as Bioshock 1 isn't it?

Objectivism is bad (which it is) so HERE'S SOME MAGIC POWERS! WOOOOOSH!

Murder of Crows is also the brand name of the bottle from which DeWitt later drank in order to obtain the ability to send out his own angry birds.

DeWitt appeared to use telekinesis to pull a shotgun out of a man's hands.

In one moment of the demo, Elizabeth was placing a storm cloud over the heads of a crowd of gun-toting men; DeWitt blasting forth with electricity to ignite a storm of lightning on the crowd.

Sounds more like MagicShock to me.... I like the idea of a steampunkish floating city, but all the "superpower" stuff doesn't blend in well with the setting for me. From what i have read in that article, it seems a bit overdone, but maybe that's just me.

I think it looks pretty damn interesting, much more so than BioShock 2. I liked the first game, at least the setting and story. gameplay was a bit boring in the long run. the setting and atmosphere in Infinite looks like it can be equally impressive at least.

I'm interested though I suspect this might not even be as good as the second installment (which means not much at all).

But looks like they had some fairly good ideas.

The propaganda posters are way too generic & wellknown though. They should've used more obscure ones. Especially the first is just... A let down, since it's already a meme.

I'd say propaganda posters in general are becoming way too generic and well-known in gamesville. Ah, but well, I guess it's really hard to be original nowadays. :D
